Just got mine rebuilt and it only turns on if I push the throttle and idles really high until I let off the throttle and then it shuts right off. Even after the carburetor got cleaned. Any thoughts?

How did you clean up the cams? Lathe?

Phillips are PH2 and JIS are p.2 it's misread on the packaging.

I HATE these carbs. They produce power like a light switch, all or none. The accelerator pump can be a pain sometimes and the mid body gasket breaks down. I threw my FCR in the trash where it belongs.

So do the newer model covers all come from factory now with the milled case for the oil squirter. Just wondering because my 06 yfzSE crank just locked up and I’m not rebuilding until I get this oil problem fixed.

I have a fcr 39 carb, the "unserviceable" one thats glued together. Any suggestions on how to split it safely?

Do the oil jet mod from a 09 YFZ, you won't have the no oil on the crake issue anymore.

What size drill bit did you use to drill out the rivets?

JIS bit is in the Snap-On ratchet screwdriver

I bought one a few weeks ago for the infamous Honda brake rotor screws along with a 4 pound hammer 🔨… it is actually one of my favorite tools ⚒️. It took those screws without issue. Before that I’d have to spend at least 30min drilling them out.

When you did the oil pump could you trun it by hand because I'm doing the up grade for my 06 the old oil pump you can trun by hand and the new pump feels more stiff to trun by hand

My 2005 blew up changed oil every 20 to 30 hours I bought the machine new but I did got alot of hours out of it for being pretty much a race engine it was piped, jets K&N GYRT intake and different ignition box too

Do you need to change the oil line passage way as well or no? Because the 12 tooth has a bigger passage way than my OEM 13 tooth, idk if it’s because my new 12 tooth pump is not OEM or idk but the dowel from the old pump fits loose in the new 12 tooth oil pump!

I stripped a screw but then guess what I did ? I grabbed my carlyle Vice grips and got it off! Hurray for me

I have a 2004 wr450f that I left the gas in for 10 years. I rebuilt the carb but not the midbody. It would run with the choke on, but once you pushed in the choke, it stopped. I purchased a midbody seal kit and replaced the melted and mushy seals, now it runs like it should. My kit was a moose racing and it came with a security torx key. it was a Keihin CR carb.

That's engineering level review you done there, I caught some good advice from it. Thank you very much. I did add a small aluminum angle bracket on the plug using the side bolt to prevent it from getting out.

"Have to run with the choke on" thats me , starts & idles fine , only revves with the choke on , stripped it down , twice . 3rd time after watching your video, stripped down the mid section aswell, wiped , saw the mid seals were ganky & starting to rot , reassembled without new seals & the problem has gone worse , that was the other difference i did , so new seals ordered. Will put a return post here it that remedies the issue

Does that k&l kit include everything needed for this carb? I called rocky mountain and they have 2 different kits (all balls brand) one for mid body and the other for the rest. But I'm not convinced it has everything needed..
