Wow man. Thank you so much. Turns out i need a new intake cam because the sprocket slipped..... I have been wrecking my brain for weeks and i finally threw a tarp over my baby two days ago. I was mot looking for this video. It just came up randomly. Thank you so much
I had almost the EXACT same catastrophic engine failure in this 04 yz450f. Bent the same exhaust valve Extremely useful information You are the man, man...
That's engineering level review you done there, I caught some good advice from it. Thank you very much. I did add a small aluminum angle bracket on the plug using the side bolt to prevent it from getting out.
Would you make a video or provide links to all the top end parts and materials you used Imma rebuild my to end on my 05 yfz ... your vids are great BTW
I’m gonna do a top end on my 2012 WR450F. 250 hours all stock. Should I send my head out to someone to have it re surfaced? Or should I try a at home method like using glass and sanding.
2006 yfz450 is binding up somewhere runs for 10 to 15 seconds an catches a dead spot could it be my starter ?? I am getting mixed opinions either the crank or starter what do you think ?
I purchased a one way bearing not sure if I’ll need it or not lol I’ve bought the bike recently unknown hours unknown previous rebuild you think shoveling out $1059.00 quoted rebuild price is worth it for a fresh start
Hard to say, it depends on what you want out of the bike. I prefer to completely go through my stuff so that I know what everything is and that it’s done right. Nothing worse than being stranded because something came apart.

Mine is an 04 yfz450 and mine is showing oil where the decompression plug is at do I need a new plug and what cased it?
Yes, you will need a plug. The factory ones shrink and blow out.

Are u still building motors?
Yes, just finding trouble with patience to film it all and edit videos.

Turn the crank by hand to rule out mechanical issue

Turned the crank an it’s for sure binding up I admire the detailed work you perform would you happen to be near New Jersey to do the work on my engine
Hi, sorry to hear about the binding that’s unfortunately time for a rebuild. I’m in upstate NY.
As a whole what do you think of Yamaha top ends?
I think they are ok, but higher maintenance like most race atv heads
