During the installation of a new flywheel housing I thought I'd show you how to install the rear main seal. After looking on YT there wasn't many videos showing you how.

So could this be the dame case on a 2005 F550. The issue is the truck had some body work done to the front. It drove in fine and after a small bit of welding was done, about 4 inches of weld at the suspension area. No the truck will not start, and loss communication at the OBD plug. All fuses are good, batteries are good. I cans recall if I saw the park light lit
@@MrShanksta I'd start by checking if the park position light is on. If it is then check resistance with a multi meter between pins 6 and 14 at the obd plug with key off

Did the missing park indicator light also cause the PATS security light to flash quickly?
@@shawna5549 hi there, I have made another video that shows when the tcm is offline ( no park light ) the pats light doesn't come on. But like I have seen many times.. a broken wire on the can bus between PCM , CLUSTER AND SJB WILL turn the pats light on.
The tool we use has a spacer that pushes the seal back to stock position.

Thank you so much for this. Was having an issue with my 2018 silverado's AFM (active fuel management). Thought it might be the wiring behind the intake manifold, really didn't want to take that off. Saw this video, checked my harness, and sure enough it had worn through. In my case it was a wire associated with the AFM, but depending on which wire faces the wheel well, it could cause any number of problems.

Thank you for this. My friend Trevor was replacing a rear main seal and wasn't sure how to do it because he's a little on the slow side. After watching your video he was able to get the rear main installed with ease.

What happens on an open circuit at the turn signals?
@@95GTSpeedDemon should be a fast flash condition same as the video showed. In my case the led turn signals were causing the fast flash and not an open circuit .
NAPA does not approve of this product placement 😂
That made more of a mess than just unscrewing it with the oil in it!!!!!!

Nice idea. Personally, I would have just made a couple holes at the bottom and one at the top. Looks to me like you made more mess than needed. Great idea though.

😮That is a messy job!! Wouldn't recommend doing it that way..
The purpose of the oil drain hammer is so you don't make a mess and get out all over you. You still make a mess because of the repeated hammering. One time would've done it.
Did you just use a nail for the tip of the hammer? Might start using this at work
@@jonahmunger-bounds6820 yup that's exactly what it is. You could also sharpen the tip of a bolt and weld it on.

He didn't need to do it so many times, but doing it one helps drain oil out of it and makes it so taking it off is a cleaner process, but usually so that you don't get oil all over the underside of the car and Need to brakleen everything, also makes draining the oil filter quicker when you have the filter upside down in a drain pan, really that hammer is unnecessary though, all you need is a sharp punch, and a normal hammer

I like this method, it's simple but dangerous . I do not recommend anyone use this tool for anything else other than oil changes !!!

Mitch I have a 2008 f-450 that sat for 10 years traded to me and I am having the same issues as in the video. I can’t get the pcm to run on after sitting. Ran when parked. Dry climate. Only had one programmed key. Watched several vids for troubleshooting. Everyone is saying I need a new PCM. I can’t believe this yet. Your vids are awesome. Wondering if you have advise. Had a new new cut but scanner can’t get to key erase.

@@dtrlfilms good idea, the upper bolt is close to the corner. The lower bolt has lots of room 👍

The fact that it was not on concrete could not have made it any easier. Nice job! At work we had the flex plate break on an Allison HT750 and worn a hole through the flywheel housing of the L10 Cummins it was behind. We had all the parts from our in house salvage yard to fix it. Like you are trying to show it was a lot of labor.

I replied to one But I have checked my wiring going to my computer and I don’t have power on the 13 and five going into the computer on the firewall. I’m looking for the origination of that power and how to check it.

Kinda wish you show us how you jury rigged that harness, that’s what I came to see. Too bad the engine noise drowned out your voice when you were going over it.
Sometimes I have to run the engine during filming, it's not ideal while talking.. maybe subtitles may help

I suspect I’m having trouble with my PATS, even though my 2007 Expy has been stripped down to a roller/camper (removed front end, powertrain, drivetrain, dash, seats, etc) that I plan to tow as a sleeper/camper. I decided to NOT rewire everything, since the fuses/relays in the BJB and SJB give me about 99% (still no SJB power to 5A “radio” fuse #28 for some reason) of what I want (window operation, lights, etc) with just a few jumpers. I hear the internal relays clicking on/off in the SJB which I assume is the PATS going haywire, but not sure how to disable. I may expose the PCB of the SJB and see if I can solder something to kill the annoying clicking sounds. Any pointers?
@@woodstovehooters4558 this is a very interesting project . I would like more info lol very curious. Start with the circuits that don't work.. find the relay for suspect circuit. What scanner are you using to see the codes? This would be an easy fix if that’s it.
In this video I was using a snap on Zeus, but most scan tool would do for reading your fault codes.
Hey changed starter ignition switch still no crank no start jump started from starter starts but shifts goofy and fans keep coming on johnnyo balt md
Sounds like the tcm is not recognizing park. If the tcm is offline it will still try to shift but will have a hard time. It could also explain the fans due to an issue with the trans temp sensor wich may command the fans on to try to cool down transmission cooler. Can you tell me if it shows what gear its in, in the instrument cluster.
