We don't forget the past, but we understand the pain of war and the happiness of peace, therefore, we have forgiven the Americans for a long time and have been living in the present as well as for the future. Vietnam and US even upgraded the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partners in 2024. US tourists have come to Vietname since 1990s and received friendly welcome from local ppl.

In some countries around the world, hatred is nurtured from generation to generation. Sometimes it belongs to the culture of some ethnic groups or some countries. Children today in Vietnam are taught in schools about the countries that caused the wars that happened in the past: "put the past behind, look to the future, promote similarities and respect differences". For foreign invaders, Vietnamese people always maintain the spirit of "forgive but never forget".❤

I have been to the Eagles Nest three times, once as a kid in 1975, again as an adult in 2005, and again in 2022. This video is an excellent account of the whole place, and it is very helpful for people who plan to visit there. It is an intriguing place. Many slaves died building it, and I understand no one who built it was let out afterwards for security reasons so as not to tell the world about its presence. Thanks to this person you can see and learn a lot about it.

When the French colonized Vietnam, they chose Da Lat to be an ideal place for vacation because of its cool highland climate, pine hills, romantic valleys, natural waterfalls,... therefore, they built many contructions serving their purpose in Da Lat. This is the reason why you can see the influence of French in Da Lat, especially in architecture. Apart from Da Lat, you might want to consider visiting Bao Loc, it is more than 100 kilometers from Da Lat, kind of has the vibe as Da Lat but less tourists.
