After Ho Chi Minh and the NVA defeated the French, Vietnam was only supposed to be temporary split until the presidential election to reunite the country but that didn’t happen. The US prompted up South Vietnam government and they broke the Geneva peace treaty. South VN became a runaway territory of Vietnam supported by the US but both were defeated and Vietnam reunited to become whole again. It was the US that caused the Vietnam/US war

Westminster California has one of the largest Vietnamese populations in the US, they settled largely in Little Saigon. Always try to find a large group of people and cross the street together with them. Safety in numbers!

Totally agree. Little Saigon in Westminster is such a cool spot! And yeah crossing the streets in Saigon is definitely an adventure. Going with a group is a solid tip!

I've been to Paris and Caen in Normandi for one month at the University in Caen to learn French. The fastest I learned french was at the Hospital while I got my broken ( casee) thumb fixed
Later a week vacation in Deauville in Normandi too.

Learning French in Normandy must have been amazing, though breaking your thumb doesn’t sound fun. Deauville is a beautiful spot for a vacation!

Saigon has tons of Christmas decorations around this time of the year, probably for tourists and expats. Christianity is not a big religion for most locals but they still celebrate it.
