What I Tasted: Your favorite foods, but better!
I want to show people how easy it is to make delicious and decadent vegetarian meals. I used to eat a good amount of meat and I still eat dairy, so this channel is aimed at people like myself before going vegetarian. Additionally, I saw the environmental impact of industrial meat farming through my Nutritional studies, and immediately stopped eating meat in 2016. I want to show that you can still have burgers, pizza, mac & cheese, fried chicken and all the other comfort food you enjoy, and that it's possible with plant-based ingredients.

    People can hate on vegan food all they want, and while yeah some flavor profiles and textures are harder to replicate but I've had some bomb ass vegan burgers before even though I'm not vegan or vegetarian, some of that shit is just GOOD. It's still food, you're just utilizing it for specialized purposes.

    I have not had much luck with any attempt at making vegan cheese. I’m going to try again using your recipe, especially so I can make these burgers. I’ll let you know how your cheese fared out compared to the others for my experience.

    red lentils, coconut cream, veg oil, minced onions, tom puree, breadcrumbs, baking powder and 4 secret seasonings==better than Richmond meat free sausages and identical to real sausage meat in taste and texture, dirt cheap too

    Good recipe & similar to my own vegan sausage recipe! I use all the spices you do, EXCEPT for the Italian seasoning; I add ground oregano. I will try the Italian seasoning. 😃 Also, if instead of white beans & walnuts: I use soaked sunflower seeds & cassava flour. I’m definitely gonna try your version. Thanks! ❤

      For me I I eat a vegan diet mainly for health reasons. I have no problem with “fake meat” as long as it is healthy, and most commercial versions are not. Even some recipes are not healthy, with lots of oil or deep fried. Eating fake meat is good for those that want to transition to a vegan diet for health or ethical reasons. If you are not vegan, eating something like this instead of the original version sometimes is better for your health. Also some vegans want to avoid meat but miss the taste, nothing wrong with that IMO. (But I can see where it may seem contradictory if the person is an ethical Vegan. Everyone is different and I respect that). There are strict Vegans that avoid anything that even resembles animal products. This recipe is good since it has no oil added to the recipe, and you can sauté with no or very little oil in a good pan. You can even wrap them in parchment paper or use parchment on the inside plus aluminum to avoid the oil on that step. Love it!! ❤

    This looks beautiful. Of course, I know your videos are for everyone, but calling this "turkey" so often got very repetitive. Calling it a vegan roast, or seitan roast would have been more appealing to me. Nonetheless, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the recipe video. I like your channel!

      Thank you! I changed my dietary needs due to the environmental impact of industrial farming. I learnes all about it when I completed my degree in Healthy Lifestyles Coaching. It took me 33 years to learn that eating meat didn't benefit me at all, and now haven't eaten meat in 7 years. I'm the healthiest I have been in my life!

      If you let this rest for a couple days it does dry a bit, and probably match what your looking for.

      @@WhatITasted That's a great idea! (why didn't I think of that!?). I think the usual hard dry salami is dry aged somehow, but I haven't researched it. I do know that, obviously, whole peppercorns are in it. I don't think I could eat the "real stuff" again, as I've been vegetarian/vegan for decades now and I think it would be too greasy for my tastes now.

    Did you cook (boil, microwave) the carrots before adding them to the cheese mixture?
