I am genuinely upset that distance was accepted as an answer to a the area under a velocity time graph as it is fundamentally wrong... Im a physics teacher and I like to use clips from university challenege with my classes. Amazingly last week was a picture round on alevel physics practicals I was so excited. And now Amol accepts distance!? Is he mad? The scalar vs vector issue is a very important learning point and is the root of my misconeptions in physics and this show - which should be the quintesence of pedanticness has gone and said screw it, distance and displacement same thing... Next thing we'll see is diffraction and refraction accepted as the same thing just because they can both disperse light when they are fundamentally different! Sorry for the rant. I'll send a letter to the BBC

I think this is a bigger Amol mash-up than the routine: I played back the "Real Tennis" question a couple times and that was a real boo-boo from Amol Just hadn't done his homework and intoned it without collocation to indicate "Real Tennis". He sounded as if he were talking about "real" tennis versus "fake" tennis. He made this error pronouncedly the first time and perceptibly the second. May be they could get it if they could recall that much of the text of Henry the Fifth or from the golf reference alone but he did confuse the question way too much. Should have scrapped the question to give fair chance to the players.
