I miss driving up and down the country (preferably up, to Yorkshire, Lakes and Northumberland) when I worked in IT. Couldn’t entertain the Jeremy vine show, but wake up to Wogan and Ken Bruce were my favourite shows to listen to. That’s how long ago it was, wouldn’t enjoy it now with all the wanchors on the road.

That was a jolly good video. I enjoyed it all the more because I know pretty much every centimetre of the route you took there and back. I love that bit of North Yorkshire and North Lancs. I want to drive there tomorrow in my lovely new Car.

I think a kseries without gearbox is less than 100kg, pretty good considering the honda d series was best part of 150kg

Wow, what a transformation! However making an ordinary 25 into a hot hatch is all very well, but if you were to do the same to the tourer, which is your everyday car, could you cope with the extra fuel consumption? 🤔

My dog used to sit on the back seat. We tried putting him in the boot like people say you should do but he didn't like it, too far away from the action. When he was a puppy we went to pick up Mrs Miller's new car and we put him in the boot of that and he did a big smelly poo. That was perhaps the first clue that he didn't like it in the boot. I didn't like it much either because he was part of our family, not a suitcase so it was nice to have the dog on the back seat. It was especially nice when we had an Audi TT because it was small so he was close. He would rest his head on the armrest between the front seats and I liked that. People say that stuff like Range Rovers or big Volvos are perfect dog cars but I would suggest that something in the style of the Audi TT would be much better because you can be near your dog. You'd probably struggle to fit an engine and a guitar amp in an Audi TT but that's a small price to pay in order to have your dog close by whilst you sit in traffic. He had a harness thing that attached to the seat belt things it was perfectly safe. Probably safer than being in the boot. Thank you for this nice video, I liked it.

Here's a question, which is causing me lack of sleep. Shison was the only gender fluid Rover that we're aware of. Does that mean if their ECU, essentially brain, goes into another car that it will then also become a gender fluid car. Isn't science wonderful?

to anyone whos thinking of buying a mg zr or a rover 25 this is a list of parts and work that you will need to be replacing and doing if you own one long enough,rear tailgate loom breaks at the hinges due to poor design,rear wiper motor,rear wheel arches due to rust,rear sills due to rust,front wings due to rust,rear back exhaust,inlet manifold gasket,thermostat housing due to cracks,rear metal water pipe due to rust,head lining,drivers front outer door handle,front window motors,front central locking motors,head gasket,heater bypass valve,wiring by the battery,alarm sounder,relays in the pectron unit,sunroof unit due to rust,headlights due to fade,cam cover gasket due to leaks,steering rack leaks,heater resistor,front seats fall apart,if you have a garage keep the car in it and only take it out in dry weather or it will rust,the early production cars are better built than the new facelift models,also its hard to get decent parts to keep them on the road these days,if you go to test drive one when you first start the car the engine will be noisey on the top end and when driving the car it will rattle and creak etc but all of that is normal with a mg zr and a rover 25.

I have good memories of that engine if N57. It started with a gentle knock in Birmingham that by the time we got back home was a full on banging. The older engine, M57, a real trooper. Less power but because the N57 quickly became razor blades, I consider it faster.
