Etc

I think your zipper foot is a regular zipper foot. Invisible zipper feet have a channel to put the zipper teeth in to keep it open while sewing.

When drafting patterns from a bodice block, should you start with a block using typical commercial sizing measurements rather than your own body’s measurements e.g typical measurements of a UK size 10? Do you have any guidance on how to then scale the pattern into other sizes?

When I moved house I lost a lot of parts for my old Brother mechanical sewing maching. I haven't done any machine sewing for a few years but now, long to get back to it. The cost of buying replacements for my old machine worked out quite expensive and, as it is so old, I think it's time to buy a new one. I'm a bit nervous of computerised machines because what happens if they break down? I'm quite handy at fixing problems with a mechanical but I would need a professional if there was a problem with a computerised one. Guarantees don't cover everything. So my question is, is it expensive to get a computerised sewing machine repaired?
