Great tips. Love spray starch on viscose that has a tendency to fray but never tried on knits- will do that next time. I use very sharp snips to open buttonholes after watching Sarah on Sewing Therapy. Definitely with you all the way on the glue pen for zippers- much better than quilting tape as it is more flexible. Thank you for your insights. 😊 Lynne
I love my fabric glue pen for putting labels in place, but never thought of it anything else. Thanks for this tip 😃 also, using Pritt might be more economical for larger things - never thought of that either! Fab, thank you!x
Thanks for the tips. The starch before cutting on knit would also be beneficial. I have tThe glue stick you have here but didn’t think of the ways to use it.
@@ThatisSewSilvia Oh I am not sure, perhaps it varies depending on the brand. The only silk I have sewn was raw silk and it didn't need the starch. Also, starch is primarily designed for cotton, so I would be surprised if it didn't work on other natural fibres although perhaps they are worried that it will stain or alter the colour in some way.
Hi Tammy! I've seen the Munbyn being advertised by several of the UK vloggers. It looks amazing. I'm in the US and decided to get it on Amazon, using your link below, but when I tried adding your discount code, it said it is not valid. Is the code only valid for Amazon UK? Thank you!
I'm not sure how the printer is helpful with your typical pdf patterns that have to be pieced together... the lines and markings for where to tape/glue will still be there, and most of my pattern pieces are wider than A4. Does this come with software that helps you edit your pdfs so that you can actually print long continuous pieces that don't have to be pieced together? I'm having a difficult time understanding how this printer is reducing how much work pdf patterns are to assemble. Though, I do love that they don't require ink.
It's perfect if you actually make or draft your own sewing patterns and want to test your patterns without having to stick pages together. If you buy patterns you can always take them into adobe illustrator and rearrange your size to be on a specific width, but not all pattern designers allow you to edit the files like this ❤
Amazing. I didn’t know any of those hacks. Many thanks

yes that's a great idea!
Spray starch is also invaluable for very fine slippery fabrics like viscose challis or silk.
I haven’t tried it on a slippery fabric like that but I can only imagine just how useful it will be!!
@@Kate-wf6hh on my starch spray they actually wrote not for natural fibers like viscose or silk. I’m not sure now…does it still work?

The zip was the wrong way around on the fabric.
