Predator' s debut is a great album and the sleeve, a brilliantly hyperbolic allegory. And since we're talking about them, Predator is about to return in March with a brand new album, only 39 years after Easy Prey, on Fighter records.

Another fantastic episode guys, cheers to you. This album is a 9/10 for me and a must listen for anybody who wants to dive into power metal As a not native English speaker (English is my 3rd-4th language), I do not care much lyrics but I would say that the rock star line delivery is strange, kinda alternative. Never liked it much, but they make it up in the rest of the song, especially the pre solo break down The only song I am not keen on is indeed the last one. The rest are all amazing

Big fan of this band since this came out, although the 2nd one is still my favorite. I agree that the 1st song is the weakest one and not really because of the lyrics. Give me a break guys, we all are fans of Black/Death/Grind bands, did you try to stop and read the lyrics? 😆

Damn, I was not expecting a review on this!!! I usually don’t comment, but been a long time watcher. I’m kinda all over with my taste of metal, like you guys. I do prefer more traditional/epic metal, and thrash, but I do love stuff from goregrind to cheesy power metal. I love you guys cover it all, and hard rock too!!!! The lyrics are cheesy as hell… but Marty I’m with you!!! This album rocks and I love how he sings the “rockstar” line… the lyrics are so bad, but how he sings it and the music makes it awesome!!! Lyrics always take a backseat for me to the music anyway. Jorn’s vocals are amazing on this album!!!! Idk maybe you gotta be a Helloween nut swinger to love this stuff😂😂 love Helloween, finally got to see them last year for the first time… with Kai, Andy, and Michael!!!!!!

Nice jumper Alan! \m/ Xoth rules I didnt listen to a huge number of 2024 albums thus year, but the ones that stood out to me were: -Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere -Opeth - The Last Will and Testament -Eldamar - Astral Journeys pt I: Creation -Seven Spires - A fortress called home -Simone Simons - Vermillion -Mythbegotten - Tales from the Unseelie Court Honourable mention to Blind Guardian's Somewhere Far Beyond Revisited. It's hard to do rerecordings well but I loved what they did here. Some songs like Theatre of Pain I even prefer to the oroginal.

Gotta have to correct Alan here, concerning Chapel of Disease. Yes, the band fell apart even before the album was released, but by the end of 2023, Laurent had already reformed a live line-up, recruiting members from Ketzer and Witching Hour. They have been pretty active all year.

Great to see my fellow countrymen Engulfed get mentioned more than a few times. I heard about the band through this channel myself, and it was surprisingly pretty good. I'm not the biggest fan and follower, but there is a decent flourishing underground death metal scene here in Türkiye, especially in the metropolitan cities. Also took note of at least 10 albums from this episode to later go check, and I'm already enjoying the new Riot V at the moment. Best metal show around with the kindest and most knowledgable folk, keep on rocking in 2025 Metallurgists!

I am 100 percent with Marty on Blood Incantation. Regarding my comment in the chat about demo > full-lengths, that was directed at Blood Incantation, not Stenched, which I've never heard. There is a riff on Starspawn that is Immortal Rites, maybe note for note. I haven't listened to that album since it came out, so I can't tell you what song. But I remember listening and thinking "This sounds like Between the Buried and Me heard Altars and decided to make a death metal band." These guys are death/prog metal for the Pitchfork/Decibel crowd and that's why they appear in Time just as Deafheaven did. And I love death metal and bands like Yes, Crimson, Rush, '70s Genesis, early Gentle Giant, Jefferson Airplane, etc. Blood Incantation's transitions make it sound like the band doesn't know what it wants to be. And regarding Opeth, I think they blend styles way more smoothly and effortlessly.
