With Gaahl being involved, and the nature of his other recent projects, I'm not surprised he's pulled a full on paradigm shift with Trelldom. But because that brand new project and Gaahl's Wyrd doing the same kind of stuff, I wish he would have kept Trelldom as a pure BM project. Great review Ben.
Great review. I’m actually kinda of intrigued now to give it a spin. Wasn’t initially to enthusiastic but piqued my interest now. Seems a little like Alcest or Ulver. Who also have taken black metal to the wash and are trying to wear something they love as if it were brand new article. Even if it was just laundry day🤘😈 🧺
I can appreciate long surviving bands wanting to branch out with their creativity, but in this case, just start another band. Why taint a legacy? Thanks for watching!
I have mixed feelings. It's a good album, very dreamlike sound, it reminded me of Ved Buens Ende. But I'm a huge fan of the first 3 albums, which were perfect black metal.
To my ears, it's suberb and unique enough. Love it!

Agreed!! Like I mentioned in another comment here, just start another project! Why screw up the name ? Thanks for watching!

This sounds more like a watered-down version of Gaahls wyrd.
The other 3 trelldom albums are very good records
Agreed on the quality of their early material. Definitely not a fan of this one. Thanks for watching!
Indie rock disguised as black metal.
As long as it's good, who cares about labels?
@@infernusrex796 Indie rock disguised as black metal is never good.
Huh. I guess there is some hint of that. Whatever it is, it's not good! Thanks for watching!
Sounds like a poor version of bell witch.
I struggle with that band as well. But one thing is for sure, the first 3 Trelldom albums are damn good! Thanks for watching!
