I vibe with the "anomaly found while gaming" type videos, I think they are very neat. Whenever its a video where the protagonist is animated however I just get taken out of the immersion, it seems like the only ones with those are the red engies, so perhaps it has a deeper meaning, but it really breaks the theme of the series to me.

I played this mode four times. I actually found it fun and scary at the same time. Every time I heard either a hunter or jockey, I continuously spam shove and it worked for the most part then I go for the kill with a melee weapon. The knife is my favorite.

I don't see how Newell's statement could be construed as anything BUT direct, and true. It was worded as a clarification. Being fair to that, if he HAD just kept it at 'Keith isn't imaginary' then there would absolutely be some people that thought he was implying Keith/His stories are based off of a real-life person. It just makes way more sense to assume that (within L4D2) Keith is real, and at worst the stories about him are exaggerated at least somewhat. At best he's a badass who defies our understanding of 'survivability' with fictional levels of feats. Which isn't too out of place in a world where Zombies actually exist--Just more crazy shit to enjoy in a crazy setting. It just makes more sense (to me) that way.

Last man on earth mode turn the game to real horror. And the thing that make it hard for you is not having a keyboard and a mouse. With a keyboard and a mouse, you can take care jackey and hunter with ease.

My theory about why Source is scary, and Source 2 isn't, stems from the fact that basically all Valve games are just heavily modded versions of Half-Life. Source was MADE for Half-Life. That's why the engine even exists. And every game like left 4 dead, portal, and yes, even TF2, all borrow this engine from Half-Life. But something they did when making the engine, was somehow programmed in that feeling the Half-Life world is supposed to give you. That constant unease and sense of dread. This, of course, is part of the engine, and this carries over into whatever game picks up the engine. Even Gmod, who wasn't developed by Valve, has this feeling, so we know it's the engine and not the developer.

The portal characters can be TERRIFYING under certain context for example I had a dream where my steamdecks ssd got corrupted and when I booted it up it essentially just played the turrets from aperture tapes in mass (the one with the eyeball) but there was also a half broken down GLaDOS but what I found the scariest is that GLaDOS was talking TO ME it felt a lot like those “scary” anti piracy screens

A possibility is that he was an old friend of Ellis’s and died sometime after the zombies show up. Knowing Ellis and knowing he ain’t all there, he probably just can’t accept that he’s dead so he keeps bringing him up and mistaking the people around him as Keith to help believe he’s alive

I've always assumed that while Keith is a crazy redneck that has shitty luck and is really reckless, the stories about him are exaggerated to make it even cooler. He probably does have a lot of burn scars, though they might not be as bad as Ellis is implying. Nearly getting third degree burns could easily become actually getting third degree burns during a retelling of a story. Unfortunately, a non-exaggerated Keith would be a really cool dude who could still die in a zombie apocalypse.

This is one of the easiest ways to do expert campaigns, I did most of them on this mode, except for hard rain, anytime a tank would appear, I’d just set it on fire and run, but on here, with the rain, it would just get extinguished and continue chasing

Reading the comments makes me want a Keith gamemode. You play as Keith with 4 times the health as the survivors and you avoid pins from special infected by using items. Throw fire or explosives at your feet to stop an attack. Maybe adrenaline is also a counter by giving Keith the strength to get away.

I just figured he exaggerates like folk are want to do. He probably got bad burns, but not literally over 95% of his body.

I think Keith being infected by something like the airborne strain mentioned in one of the comics fits into the pessimism and dark irony of L4D. Like one of the main character's best friends survives all of these shenanigans pre-outbreak, just to be killed by something he couldn't even see or do much about while his buddy is A-Ok. A guy who has the possibility to be this unstoppable badass goes out in such an anti-climactic way. No last stand, no final hoorah, no raging against the dying of the light. Just breathes and it's already over.

I theorized stuff about all about his videos 1. The scout was "PROBABLY" the abomination who infected the pyro main. 2. I whether believe or not believe that scout was the first victim, and now the scout was turned or was part of that abomination. 3. I suddenly realised that after the pyro main disappeared, i see no text at all saying the player left the game (Same to what happened to the scout). 4. Someone has to be behind all of this, the two players were gone. There could be a possibility that dude is next. 5. The chat saying that he must not go back to that map after what he saw, it must've been that scout abomination (probably)
