Nice video 📹 👍 I equipped my 3 bikes with clarkes m2 -Nice powerful breaks -1 us electric so I did only at the rear - and use both breacks -so ftontone cutting out motor. But now I found CLARKS HD-M3000 PLUS E-BIKE HYDRAULIC BRAKE SET - so I will fit them on our 3 ebikes... And set cost £85...
Mine the key hole is stucked that i can not open the tank cap, i have no idea why, do you have any resolution?
When you say keyhole is stuck what exactly do you mean? Do you mean you can’t get the key in the keyhole?
@ ah sorry, i was able to put the key in but could not rotate the lock :(
That sounds more like the barrel might be slightly seized up. You could try squirting a bit of penetrating oil into it and given the key wiggle for 5 to 10 minutes that might help.
I think, buy Japanese and never look back 😅
Hello, thank you for the video :) can you add the Amazon links in the description please? (for the load stop and the T screw :) )
Hi, check through the responses I’ve made to previous message I made to somebody else. I think I’ve left the links there.
Thanks for the video. Just bought these cables for my M900 , hope they help with the starting .
Keep us informed it will be interesting to know how it went
Great video been searching for something like this for my aero bars. Do you have link to the product and the bolts. Cheers.

Great info and good start to the service process. Did you ever complete the service videos or throw in the towel?
I did complete the service a couple of times, including the valve checks and the timing belt change. The only thing that defeated me was how to film it which was impossible on my own. Access to the valves in the middle of the engine is quite narrow and you have to remove quite a bit to get at them, other than that it was pretty straightforward. You will need both hands.
Glad you got it done, which gives me hope! Totally understand your challenge with filming on tight awkward spots. Thx for the 1st video!
I haven’t totally given up on the idea. I’ve got some video clips in a file at some point. I will take a look at them and see if it makes sense and I might post them anyway.
Useful video, but the what if the warning light stays on after fitting a new filter? Are certain filter brands incompatible?
Absolutely not there is no way for the car to know what type of filter you put inside the unit. if you’ve got a warning light on there must be an issue somewhere else in the system. Try making sure you have seated the plug back into its socket correctly. failing that you might need to use an OBD reader to reset the warning light.
Just picked up a set for £42.99 from Tredz. Amazing! :o)
You can’t argue with that!
it should not wear out too much because the retainer rotates together with the sprocket and the spline
Very nice video. Bought a 2024 Ducati scrambler and we still have this issue. Out of all the engineers at Ducati I can’t believe they have not figured it out yet. Pretty embarrassing for them.
I’m pretty sure they know exactly what the issue is. They’re just not prepared to spend the money, which seems to be the story with most things these days.
Is that yellow clip broken
No, not at all. That’s just how they are.
Nice video, hello from California! Did you have to get it tuned for the extra air flow? Thanks 🙏
Some people do, the bike does run a little lean from factory . I did not and I haven’t noticed any issues it absolutely fresh cold mornings.
I came here on a hunch. I just traded for a 2015 Scrambler yesterday and the front brake feels terrible at slow speeds. Grab/release/grab/release. I've cleaned floating rivets before with brake cleaner, but your trick with a bolt is eveb better. I HOPE mine just needs the rivets cleaned. The next step will be to sand the surface of the rotor and pull the brake pads to deglaze them on my machined slab of granite (that's perfectly flat.) I'll report back with my results.
That’s excellent news. It’s a simple as that. It just works.👍🏻 good luck let me know.
@@stevieg7403 It made it better, but the effect is still there. I am going to clean it again. I think the rivets from Brembo are just too tight from the factory. I had the same problem with my other 2015 Scrambler if I remember right. I fixed this problem on my Buell by cleaning the rivets like this.
@@421CentralIowa try re-centring the calliper to the disc, if it still doesn’t fix the issue try a new set of pads.
My guess would be the 110 is not Newton Meters, but Newtons per Meter. This sounds unusual, but it is the units of something known as "the Spring Constant" k, in Hooke's law: F = -kx It roughly translates to the stiffness of the spring, its resistance to compression. How many newtons of force you need to apply to a spring in order to compress it a certain distance. If: F is Force, measured in Newtons x is distance , measured in meters Then k has to be Newtons / meters in order for the units to balance. Great video, I hope the new shocks worked out for you.
Thanks for this !! Can you tell me, if I can get the sprocket off without disasembling anything else unless the sprocket cover? I thought it might work, wehen I take the chain away, this is much easier the disasembling the clutch pedal..
You will of course have to loosen the back wheel to slacken off the chain other than that yes it can be done
Remember having that problem on 999s. I bought the bike as faulty because of bad battery cable to the engine. Replaced worked like a treat! However my wcrambler dont have such a problem..
you solved my problem...unable to get the plate screw holes to line up with the sprocket holes...
I’m glad it helped somebody👍🏻
We recently did this same upgrade on a Ducati Multistrada 1260s on out channel, pretty simple and really helps 😁
Yes, it did make a difference, however I’m not totally convinced it’s not the starter motor. I’m reluctant to change it out as it’s still functioning. I would say I’ve had a 20 to 30% improvement no more than that
@@stevieg7403 Yes it's not the ultimate fix, it helps, but big V-Twins will always be slow to start compared to an in-line 4, or even the triples. My current ride is a 2021 Speed Triple 1200RS and that starts like a scooter! videos coming soon 🙂
I went through the same exercise today. But I have the added challenge of working around the handlebar brace on the WRP bars. In the end I gave up. 😂
Hi Stevie, thanks for this 😊 I was going to take mine to the garage. Did you feel confident doing it? I have done work on cars, but always get nervous when it comes to the fuel side of things. Do you have any mechanical background? Or did you just go for it? Thanks
This is absolutely something you can do for yourself it’s pretty straightforward just follow the video and you won’t go wrong to be honest you can pretty much do any job on the car as long as you have somewhere to work on the car. good luck. Let me know how you get on. Like most things, including DIY, you start by wiring a three pin plug, and before you know it, you’re wiring a new consumer unit into the house, choose your jobs wisely, choose jobs that stretch you a little bit and your confidence will grow.
@@stevieg7403 Thank you so much for getting back to me and for the encouragement. I will definitely give it a go now and will let you know how I got on. Thanks again, it’s very kind of you.
Good video... only thing I would add is to put tape on fuel line connectors on both the pump and lines. just in case to prevent any dirt or grime getting in the lines.
Have these...like them...only I can't find any Olives part# M3-OL-1
Definitely same problem happened to my desert x. I don’t understand why Ducati does not upgrade those cables
Unfortunately, I’m sure you’re aware we live in a world where it’s all about money….. it drives me nuts!!!
@@stevieg7403for few bucks more in a pocket of shareholders they are on their way to shut down the brand like Ducati, that is GREEDINESS of new generation of owners and shareholders. That is why all western motorcycle and vehicle manufacturers are going down and eventually will cease to exist. Remember the word “GREEDINESS”
I'd get a vibration dampener for this one. this bike vibrates alot in highspeed.
Absolutely, I already have it as well worth it
People are really having a laugh ! Fair play mate. Fantastic bike too
my bike lives in a parking lot. I have noticed that the indicators accumulate water lmao. Is it possible for you to make a full desmo valve inspection and shim replacement video?
I have tried to film the valve check, it didn’t quite come out good enough it’s a very difficult thing to film on your own because it’s quite involved. I still have the video clips, I might at some point try and piece them together to see if it makes any sense and possibly help somebody
Thank you for the vidéo 👍
Great video, very helpful. Thankyou.
How are brakes? they look to far from handels?
It’s not as far as it looks, 45mm from the bars at the shortest point.
Hi , followed this procedure yesterday and took it for a test ride and sure enough the problem of pulsing through the front brake lever has gone ,I'm very relieved especially when I saw the price of new rotor and bolts !!! Thanks for the video .
Thank you for this video sir 🙌🏼
It’s a pleasure, thank you for commenting
Adding preload raises the height of the bike.
Adding preload, does just that. You end up at the same hight once you sit on the bike. All you’ve done is offset some of your weight in advance. The only way you can raise the riding height is by fitting a stiffer spring or longer shock.
@@stevieg7403 Agreed.
Great video, I have just ordered one for my scrambler. I don't get why you felt the need to take measurements though. When you fit a new shock the bike will sit according to how the spring pre load is set from the factory. You then adjust the pre load to suit your weight. There is nothing else to do. By the way its a grub screw not a grommet.
I measured just to see what the height would be, and if there would be any difference, I will never make the mistake about the grub screw again.
@@stevieg7403 OK. I understand. I took your advice and ordered a 50mm M10 stainless cap head bolt for the top mount.
I’ve just ordered a slightly stiffer spring, I feel with the standard spring the bike sinks too much . I will post a video when it arrives.
Anyone know levers weight? can't find anywhere, even 224 claimed for the set is unclear, With rotor? (unexpectedly light but why not...)
I didn’t bother weighing them, but trust me they don’t weigh a lot
@@stevieg7403 i guess, thx, but weight (and bucks) chasing, it might be on my list....
Thx stevie, well done
Hi, do you still have the scrambler? I’m selling my T7 and the Ducati scrambler is front runner however this service schedule is really putting me off.
Yes I do, I did do the service, it wasn’t that bad . I am going to make a short video trying to show how to do the valve adjustment.
@@stevieg7403 Have you made that video yet?
Great video well done
Can confirm the sprocket can and will move about freely once the retainer wears out. I ground out my swingarm, rear foot stay and had the sprocket hanging on by a thread which left me stranded out in the middle of no where….. and I was one of the lucky ones. After doing some research on various scrambler forums I have found lots of incidents were the retainer has failed and sent a bunch of chains through the engine case. Its such a stupid design that relies on mere millimeters of steel to avoid catastrophic failure
It still amazes me, the amount of movement
My original exhaust was off before I even rode it.

Hey Steve- thx for the vid- I'm looking to upgrade my current chain and sprockets. I wanted to ask where and how did you get the front retainer ring?
I know in my case t’s not the motor, sometimes it would crank over so slowly you would think it could be. Since replacing the cables, it has never taken more than .5 sec to start. So I’m hoping that finally resolves it for me.
I bought a new battery for my 2 1/2 year old scrambler , didn't improve it , then 6 months later the starter motor completely packed in , put a new motor on it and literally 1/2 a crank it fires straight up , the difference was unbelievable. Bought the replacement motor from Brooksbarn parts on ebay £149.99 delivered , that was 2020
I’m starting to think you might have a point! There has been a couple of occasions when starting the bike, even after the upgrade where it turns over sluggishly. I know it’s not the battery and I know it’s not the cable, so that only leaves one thing.🤕
Don't buy from Ducati as they wanted £595.00 plus vat in 2020 and the motor I got was identical to original
@@markgoscinski3509 Can I have a link from that starter?
I will try and find my ebay transaction
the pipe with the green tip,is that the same as the pipe with the yellow tip with pinch & release???

Anyone familiar with Clark break pads? I've read they don't fit well and don't last long?
I’ve not had to change them. You don’t have to replace them with the same brand.
Just the video I was looking for. Stevie, why not orient the control unit in a different direction so the cable isn't pointing downwards ?
