Very nice video. Bought a 2024 Ducati scrambler and we still have this issue. Out of all the engineers at Ducati I can’t believe they have not figured it out yet. Pretty embarrassing for them.
I’m pretty sure they know exactly what the issue is. They’re just not prepared to spend the money, which seems to be the story with most things these days.
I know in my case t’s not the motor, sometimes it would crank over so slowly you would think it could be. Since replacing the cables, it has never taken more than .5 sec to start. So I’m hoping that finally resolves it for me.
Yes, it did make a difference, however I’m not totally convinced it’s not the starter motor. I’m reluctant to change it out as it’s still functioning. I would say I’ve had a 20 to 30% improvement no more than that
@@stevieg7403 Yes it's not the ultimate fix, it helps, but big V-Twins will always be slow to start compared to an in-line 4, or even the triples. My current ride is a 2021 Speed Triple 1200RS and that starts like a scooter! videos coming soon 🙂
Remember having that problem on 999s. I bought the bike as faulty because of bad battery cable to the engine. Replaced worked like a treat! However my wcrambler dont have such a problem..
I bought a new battery for my 2 1/2 year old scrambler , didn't improve it , then 6 months later the starter motor completely packed in , put a new motor on it and literally 1/2 a crank it fires straight up , the difference was unbelievable. Bought the replacement motor from Brooksbarn parts on ebay £149.99 delivered , that was 2020
I’m starting to think you might have a point! There has been a couple of occasions when starting the bike, even after the upgrade where it turns over sluggishly. I know it’s not the battery and I know it’s not the cable, so that only leaves one thing.🤕

Thanks for the video. Just bought these cables for my M900 , hope they help with the starting .

We recently did this same upgrade on a Ducati Multistrada 1260s on out channel, pretty simple and really helps 😁

Don't buy from Ducati as they wanted £595.00 plus vat in 2020 and the motor I got was identical to original
@@markgoscinski3509 Can I have a link from that starter?
I will try and find my ebay transaction
Definitely same problem happened to my desert x. I don’t understand why Ducati does not upgrade those cables
Unfortunately, I’m sure you’re aware we live in a world where it’s all about money….. it drives me nuts!!!
