I'm an outdoor enthusiast living, and raising my children, in Alaska. I aspire to instill in my children respect, knowledge and a love of the outdoors. Our videos are based on our outdoor adventures, lessons, and projects.
Moose and Grizzlies - Campark TC07
I set the Campark TC07 trail camera up overlooking a small meadow that had several trails leading into it. It captured some very nice bull moose and a couple grizzlies. This trail camera can be purchased at: noxl.ink/nI7rkc

Dall Sheep Rams
Переглядів 15014 годин тому
I was out looking for Dall Sheep and I found a small group up on a very steep hillside: one large ram, a couple smaller rams and a ewe. I managed to get up near the sheep, but the larger ram did not come come over where I could see him. #alaska #Dallsheep
Argo Drive Chain Problems
Переглядів 40221 годину тому
This adventure was meant as a shake down trip to assess our Argos readiness for a much more involved moose hunting extravaganza deep into the Alaskan wilderness. We tested our Argos in water, mud and the tundra and were met with some issues. Initially I wondered it the broke down argo would be able to make it out under its own power.

Dandy Bull Moose with a Dead Ear
Переглядів 1,8 тис.21 день тому
Some days things just come together and work out just right. On this day, I bumped into a really nice bull moose who must have a damaged nerve in his ear so to would not stand up and could be not be used to detect sound directionally. Sometimes that injury heals and other times they do not. All that said, with wolves and grizzly bears always nearby, a good defense system is important for the su...
Whale washes ashore near Alaska's Largest City
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
A dead fin whale washed ashore near Anchorage Alaska. It received a lot of visitors from Anchorage as well as scientists who took samples so they could determine its cause of death. The best way to access the whale it is to park at Westchester Lagoon and walk down the Tony Knowles Trail toward Turnagain arm. About a 1/3 of a mile down the trail you will go over a bridge and from there you can a...
Uncomfortably Close Bull Moose

I found this bull in some thick timber, so I had to get too close to film him. He knew I was there but was very tolerant of me. That said, he stared me down and I quickly retreated.

I love the quality of those Campark cameras, I just picked up my TC06 from last falls kill site and I am totally impressed with the night video that it has. I put a clip on Facebook with the Alaska Wildlife page of our local wolf pack howling at night and it just proves my point if you check it out. I will have a video on UA-cam in a couple of days of more from the camera.
Will you please send me a link? I would love to see that.
Just watched again, lots of reflection
I’m going to go back and watch it again to look for that sparing match.
My dad would have absolutely loved your presentation...after watching your show I had a dream where I showed him your video...thanks.
Thank you, things that bring back memories from my father always make me smile.
Do you think the antler is misshapen from Genetics, or an injury? Would it affect his chances in the rut? Love your videos, and your knowledge. Happy and safe 2025!
I would guess that the non-typical bull is genetics. On another game camera I captured him and another bull who was similar but smaller. It will be interesting to see what he looks like next year. I do not think it should hinder his ability during the ret. It does not look like his antlers are malformed in such a fashion that they would break off easy and leave him without the ability to clash antlers and push other bulls. Great question and this is just my best guesses.
@@RaisedinAlaska Yes, his next antler growth will be interesting to see Thank you. Happy New Year!
Love watching your videos and quality of the camera is awesome the picture with few on the lens was cool thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you. Yes, this is a very good quality trail camera.
You are in the right place for your own meat market. I wish I had that many moose around my property. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you John, it was a busy place.
Great show...Im smarter because of you.
Thank you.
that "dandy" bull, even though he only had 2 brow tings, I'm sure he was legal via the spread. the 1 antler bull has a little nub on the other side. weird. The "this guys new" bull had some kind of growth on his back leg.
Good eye, I’ll have to go back and look for the growth on the leg, I missed it.
Great observations. Thanks!
Good camera shots, looks like a high traffic area. Can’t wait for you to get some footage from that “other trail”! Don’t worry, those grizzlies only chase you until they catch up with you. 😂
Great idea, I never did put a camera on the bear trail but next year I need to do that. I fear that that fluffy cute little bear would eat my lunch. 🧺
Love the dude at 1:56 seconds!
I’m looking forward to seeing him next year. My wife had initially named him Holyfield, but then we found out he was already named. 🥊
Love this video, seeing the animals in summertime.
I think it’s fun to watch them grow through the summer.😁
When was this? They got racks already? This is July and they're growing already. I know winter comes early but wow! Can you tell who's going to be the impressive ones?
This was last spring through mid summer.
When you think re it there's so many ppl with cameras in the woods. No privacy. I remember having to look around to take a pee. Now it's cameras. But they do serve a purpose 😉
True. I’ve found a few in my outings. I always say hi and if it’s in an interesting location I leave a greeting, share my social media account and ask for the person to drop me a message and their social media info so I can see what they are posting.😀
I love the Iditarod I love sled dogs
It is a magical event. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great video and sound, thank you.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I love seeing this kind of raw nature! Thank-you!

He looks like a furry (woolly?) beer-keg with horns. Beautiful! Merry Christmas 🎄

Beautiful creatures.

Moose urine must be a powerful aphrodisiac!
yep, that machine shouldn’t have been driven with loose idler chains. It was clearly driven that way for quite some time. Driving it with loose chains would would cause the same thing to happen regardless of whether tracks are installed or not. This is also why I don’t recommend disabling tensioners (tying down) on drive axles either unless you can constantly babysit them. *of note, the old steel grouser tracks have been phased out, and only 1-1/2” wide UHMW grousers are available to interchange. The UHMW are far more durable and pull more effectively in soft terrain. Pass along to your driving partner not to over inflate corner tires. I would recommend 3 or 4 psi max. This will allow tire carcass to squish a bit and prevent stress/metal fatigue on the steel bar channel grousers. As you know, tight tracks are hard on everything. You’ve experienced 1st hand with your Adair tracks (torn hinges) what can happen if the tracks are too tight. Usually the Adairs do that if you drive out of them and the hinge takes massive strain. Good video though
Thank you A. On a later trip in the season my buddy broke 3 grousers bringing the trip to an end. He is replacing those tracks. That said, I will pass your info on to him.
I used to have all kinds of chain issues with my 6x6's, not anymore. I just bought a brand new Polaris 6x6 with shaft drive and it has power steering as well. I like it
The 6x6 machines have come a long way, I’ve seen some in the wayback.
Hes walking a little bull- legged.
@@cnlights2 I suspect he a little sore from a fight.
Nice sprocket comparison shot at the end.
Thank you, I was surprised how bad it was when I compared to the new one.
@RaisedinAlaska I haven't had this problem on my Argo, yet, but I've been amazed how quickly sprockets wear down when the chain tension isn't right on my 6-wheeler.
@ I’m adding this into my annual service.
Glad to see it wasn't something serious.
Initially, I was worried we wouldn’t be able to make it out with that machine. Fortunately, it worked out well.
you know your machine
Thank you. We tightened the drive chain and were able to limp it out. After the trip, we replaced the drive sprocket and judging by the wear on the initial sprocket, I’m surprised it made it as long as it did without giving us problems.
@@RaisedinAlaska still debating between an argo or canam 6 by 6 with alaskan tracks. your video's are keeping me on the argo side. Easier to fix and cheaper to repair
@ Last fall we saw a couple 6x6’s in the way back and I was impressed with them. Each “toy” has its pro and cons.
The last two years have increased my list of what I need to check and look over…
@ I have learned as well. You made short work of that breakdown and we were off and running.
preciso de um deste aqui no sitio,
They are amazing machines that will go places that are downright scary.
linda esta paisagem
We were blessed, this is the most scenic time of the year in Alaska.
Beautiful setting.
Why didn't you take him???
@@jimmieburleigh9549 Wouldn’t you know it, the season had been closed for weeks and we were just out for a walk to scout for a photo adventure the next day.
@RaisedinAlaska well when you said scouting for tomorrow I figured for hunting. Lol....
@ That would be a good guess.👍🏽
@RaisedinAlaska 👍
@RaisedinAlaska he did look a little gimpy. What is Alaska law on culling injured animals that are out of season?? 🤷♂️
Came here after seeing Peta spread of Iditarod exploding winter dogs and forcing them to race. Care to explain ?
I have been blessed to have dogs my whole life. Our current dog, Lilly, shares her time equally between the couch the recliner and the laps of everyone in the house. She may be an 80 pound German Shepherd, but she identifies as a small, cute, cuddly lap dog. I go to both the ceremonial start in Anchorage and the restart, real start, in Willow every year. That said, I’ve not seen a time when I did not believe that a musher’s love of each and every one of their dogs was any less than my love of the dogs I and loved over the years. As a person who routinely attends the race it’s clear that the dogs are not being forced to do anything they do not love to do.
Great trip! I live in Homer and the king fishing this fall was excellent. I’m guessing you were fishing Yukon Island or Peterson Point. I might even have seen my boat in your video! My biggest this year was 24 pounds at Peterson Point in late October. Love your videos.
Thank you, the fishing was exceptional. We didn’t get anything near as large as your best. Nice catch.
Great video
Thank you, it was a great trip.
What type of material is used to secure the wall to roof metal you snapped in? I am currently building a trailer and wanted the same design at the top of my walls.
What a handsome ram 🐏
Yes, he is a dandy. I was very fortunate.
How nice of you to leave a snack out for the octopus 😂
I wonder how many crabs were in the pot? Certainly there had to some in there and he probably ate those too. That said, it was cool to see one up close.
a good day out fishing and crabbing
Thank you Bill, it was a fabulous couple days.
Meant to comment on that octopus! That was cool. What a great time of it and some freezer food to boot. Awesome!
Thank you, I’m been planning this trip for a couple years and it exceeded my expectations.
Looks like it was a great couple of days. Thanks for taking us along!!
Thank you for “coming along”. It was a fabulous couple days and we put up some great food.
What a terrific video! It looks like everyone was having a great time. Homer is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Do you fish for halibut there? It was exciting seeing the octopus. I don't know why I am always curious about the weight of the animals you video, but the octopus looked heavy. What do you think he weighed? I enjoyed seeing your wife fish; it reminded me how much I miss fishing in Alaska. :) Maureen
@@ERNurseCEN Thank you for watching and commenting. I couldn’t agree with you more: Homer is absolutely beautiful and the people there are very Alaskan friendly. I would guess the octopus weighed over 60 pounds, it was certainly bigger than average. I’ve been thinking about this trip for a couple of years and making plans in my head, but this exceeded my expectations. I do fish for halibut in Homer a couple times a year. 🐙 🎣
I love how much fun you have together! Way cool
Thank you. This trip was pretty epic: it really exceeded my expectations.
