The place is like an amusement park. You can have anything you want if you pay the fee, or whatever the governments and businesses choose to call it. The bridge between the rich and the poor increases every day. Sadly, this is not isolated. For us, the best way is to get out of the USA. We did, and we love our lives beyond the USA. Where is it? Any place is better than the USA. We found the best place for us, and you can, too.

My favorite place in Bristol is the Museum/ Birth Place of Country Music. It is amazing! We are where it happened in 1927. The quality of the exhibition, films, studio, artefacts, etc… is staggering. Moving. Great welcome.

You talk about cost of living and taxes but you don’t talk about the better paying jobs in northern Va and other areas. That’s myopic. Median household income in northern Va $140,515. Median household income in Tenn. $65,254.

I'm curious how TN treats black Republicans. I don't get much love anywhere else. Can't stand Cali or new York, the place or the people. Looking to live with like minded folks but I run into issues there as well as many who think like me still don't like me due to how I look if you know what I mean. I run into a little of everything. But, I just want a safe place to live with my family that loves guns! I'm originally from Colorado but left because of too many liberals, I'm not going back! So I need a new home. I'm in VA now and boy oh boy, that a mistake. They went blue and I about lost my mind! I can't stand this place now!

Well, since I live in Washington county, please tell me why Johnson City can't fix all the blasted potholes in the streets when they get money from both the State & Federal government to fix them? Some of those potholes look like craters on the moon!

You shouldn’t have listened the ‘high’ sales tax, as a negative, then give the number one pro, low taxes. The ‘high’ (obviously relative to other states) sales tax is the reason TN can have no income tax and lowish property tax! TN has the best tax plan in the country. Best for every level of income. If you don’t want to pay taxes then don’t buy stuff. I would make it better with no tax on food but at least food is taxed at a way lower rate. Income tax is regressive, it screws everyone and suppresses productivity. Property tax is just government protected steeling, and screws retirees and old people on fixed income. Also, mentioning traffic was kind of silly. All big cities are horrible. In fact in spite of what people here say and think, Memphis’s rush hour is the most nonevent rush hour of anyplace in the have been. I can’t believe you didn’t mention crime in the democrat run cities Memphis, Nashville (I don’t know about the eastern TN cities)! But the crime here is ridiculous. Conversely lack of crime in most places should have been a positive.

Virginia is too mercurial to encapsulate in a short video. There are multiple sections, northern Va., southeast, Virginia Beach/Norfolk, central/Richmond, and variants from there. I've lived here my whole live and they are extremely different with subtle plus and minuses within.

Virginia has some of the most jealous and devious people in the states. They’re swift to tear down their own people and spread lies and rumors on anyone or anything GREATER.

We just moved the East Tennessee spring of 2024, and I can say, Tennessee’s greatest asset is its people. They are genuinely nice here, courteous and friendly. We love the state’s beauty; we sometimes have deer visit our wooded back yard. We are both retired and have easily left our other life behind. We love this state; it *is* “home”.

I hate it here in Chatt! Thank you for this! Very accurate analysis! (I live in this [beep beep] Chattanooga) ! By the way, the healthcare proffesionals are overwhelmed here - so if you need healthcare - get ready for the long waiting times to get in! Im having a hard time getting a family doctor that will accept new patients! (remember he said for every 100 that move away 200 move-in )Also, Chattanooga has a larger population of vagrants with signs for food up and down the highways exits and - even in the corners of town there are tent communities. Also, Chattanooga is dangerous for the size. per capita the shootings daily are too many for such a small place. They are jamming in zero-lot-line homes everywhere ~and~ high rise tenaments everywhere downtown -- too many -- everywhere and all those people will present a HOST of new problems for this area. Also, watch out downtown for the things homeless leave on the sidewalks and alleys

I thought hubby & I would end up in Tennessee, but an so glad we chose Kentucky instead! Our sales tax & other taxes are lower, cost of living is lower & not as crowded in western Kentucky.

If you move from a blue, liberal, progressive state please don’t try to turn our state to be like the one you moved away from. In God We Trust🙏

Pretty good presentation. We moved to Chattanooga from the North burbs of Chicago 8 years ago. We still love it here. We actually live out in Ooltewah. There are several areas just outside the city that are really nice. On the traffic comments....well everything is relative. If you know where you are going (know the roads), you can get anywhere here in under 30 mins....can't say that about Chicago (or Nashville). There certainly are alot of folks moving here from place like CA, NY, NJ, IL etc and as that continues, the traffic will likely get worse. We both work from home so are quite happy here in our area.

Having grown up in Chattanooga for almost 20years moving to Memphis for over 20 years before moving back to Chattanooga, I can honestly say Chattanooga is WAY BETTER!!! I would agree that we have our problems, but so does every large city!! If people start moving to the tri-cities as you seem to be suggesting, then you are going to start having those “big city problems “ as well.

Chattanooga just doesnt have any industrial or factory or JOBS period as far as working and supporting your family look forward to working at Amazon for pennies and not ever making any money just struggling and waiting for life to end. Sorry, residents don’t want more California and Floridian neighbors moving to your area, sounds like you are selling not only real estate but more overdevelopment of green lands. More people mean more pollution and crime..Will the cities in the area be able to develop their infrastructure, schools, medical facilities, water and roads, and police department, fire departments, just to name a few, to keep up with booming population. I think not. 😢🎉
