With the daash lights change the little bulbs for components and gauges. The window switches will be going next but they're just rockers you take them apart and sand the contacts and you're good to go. Nice car. Good video. ❤actually that was my own first car when I was a kid, and still my favorite car to this day! I've had quite a few of them over the years sad to see them less and less. I probably could give you advice on almost anything to do with an FC turbo or not lol! Have fun keep making videos

Rotary engine...runs hot, burns oil and not very reliable. Avoid this car.

Rx8 engine are not crazy complicated. Once you get into it you'll be hooked in no time 😀. Still my favorite handling car I've ever driven. Make sure OMP sensor, and omp lines get changed out of leaking or cleaned. Also i have bought 2 if these that Noone could fix and the MAF sensor was dirty, if it's barely dirty it'll run like ass and bog hard. I miss mine i have a Fiesta ST right now we just put a mountune full head on. Next is bigger turbo!

My grandmother's house has an old Toyota car, it's sitting in the garage for too long time and rats are living inside the car ... I try to start the engine but I can't find any stores that sell parts for Toyota 2000GT.

It's a Mazda nobody really likes him in my town and if you do see him they're either broken down and someone's front yard or something nobody really works on him I don't know why

At least the body is in good condition, here in the UK, the RX-8 is infamous for rusting. I have a small channel where I almost chopped mine to pieces to fix its rust issues, check it out @DIYWorkshop_UK

Great video style, like the pacing and editing. Also good work on that wankel engine, understandable that you wanted to cut costs, but with all the work put into it one could argue that brand new parts would have been reasonable. Also a before and after compression test would've been interesting. Only thing I would do differently is to replace cheap stuff like spark plugs right away when rebuild something. Would love to have a RX-8 myself but its definitely not the most reasonable car to own 😂

First off I didn't see past the 1 minute mark because I already know why people don't want to work on that piece of crap. It has a rotary engine and every couple of hundred miles or more depending on how you drive it the rotary engine wears out and seizes. So basically if you race that crap at a race track by the second race you need to rebuild the engine. I would never get a rotary engine.

I’ve owned 2 rx8s, series 1 and 2, best cars ive driven, its not always about power, its the confidence it gives you to attack the corners, forget the power upgrades, focus on handling, i had 10x more fun driving rx8s than my boosted cars, yes rotaries needs more love than other engines but it wont let you down in the track like others.

Question in all what was the cost in doing this job?

All I have to say is Wunderbar! Used to own an 86 GXL and absolutely loved that vehicle. It was beaten on heavily by its previous owners, but nearly 200k on that engine…near perfect compression! This video makes me think about before owing that vehicle, I helped a friend who was an rx7 enthusiast to remove his engine from his T2. I’ll never forget when he said we are going to lift the engine out by hand…I was totally lost at the suggestion of that. He showed me the engine he needed help lifting and he grabbed one side, I grabbed the other, then we lifted it out by hand and we carried it to the work bench in the garage. Heavy as all hell, but was still capable of being hand carried. I couldn’t believe something so small could make so much power (200hp or so stock in those days was a lot of power!). It all went from there and I fell down the rotary hole. Thanks for this awesome video, one of the absolute best I’ve seen in a long time! Also wanted to add in, not sure if you’re familiar with it but look into ceramic sealant and coolant seals method. Essentially, if coolant seals are bad, they can be saved by using ceramic sealant and it’ll fix the seal that’s giving the issues. I thought it was crazy but I fixed a 13b with this method and it held for thousands and thousands of miles, the car was running perfect the last I heard.

I had always wanted to do this project after Initial D, although i never achieved this, I am so glad you did and it's been an incredible journey. Well done, you've done us proud. Now drive it as much as you can and enjoy it.

Can you tell me how you order the car

The "de flooding" procedure honestly never worked for me.. I found the best option was to just push start it to quickly burn off the fuel.. also I assume it was done to this car, but I remember mine always having a tough time starting until they did a recall on the starter which made a world if difference.. 04 rx8 drive it from 25k to 130k miles honestly without any issues till a tree fell on it in my driveway 😢

I just watched the 3 hours of video with great pleasure. I have an 88 RX7 FC turbo imported from Germany to Spain in 1997 and the truth is that although we have done most of the things you did, two things surprised me. We literally have the same exhaust but I would like to know if you modified it to put catalytic converters on it, in these cars having a straight exhaust means increasing the turbo pressure and therefore normally a FCD with a turbo controller is installed. My question is if you had problems when installing the new exhaust, I had to install an FCD with a turbo controller and also a Forge relief valve because the turbo went from blowing at 0.4 bar to 0.8 bar. I am very curious about how you approached this problem to be honest because I still have some problems and there is not much information on the internet and even less about the European models. Yeah this car is sick I like the initial d anime also but having the real thing would be pretty awesome I also think a build for the ae86 would be pretty awesome to own also especially if you did that one as the version that revved up to 12 thousand rpms with a engine swap for the high revving engine that was in it for the second season right after he blow the original that engine would be sick to see considering it had almost 250 horsepower in a car that is supper light I mean the version we have in the United States is called a Toyota sprinter that I think you could just replace all the badges and then trade them for the one’s from the initial d anime by buying the Japanese emblems from Japan to replace the one’s from the United States because then with the one if you live in the United States you could still be compliant with the emissions laws here

So if you haven’t figured out the lights problem I’m guessing one of the bulbs inside the light could be blown or maybe the battery needs to be replaced also that might make the car start up better at least that would be my other suggestion to do that might be why the lights inside the car might not be working inside the car
