Is it common that the strikers Pierce the primers this is the second time i see you shooting a hammergun thats Pierce the primer? Good things those fine guns from the right era of English gunmaking.
Not juts on hammer guns, can happen to anything - sometimes the strikers are bit long for modern shells and sometimes it is just a variable quality issue with soft caps. - also get the odd misfire with hard caps.
Forgive my ignorance, but what's the glove on your left hand for? Is it part of the normal shooting equipment, or is it a precaution when shooting such old guns in case a barrel bursts?
#DiggoryHadoke, I always watch your videos very interestingly as I am also a side-by-side shotgun lover like you. Though I was watching this video, and if you can help me out by knowing why there's a smoke cloud came outside the chamber while firing the 3rd round (Ref:- Video time 2:20) And please let me know, what type of cartridges you're using, is it smokeless powdered or hand-made hulls??? Is it safe to use smokeless powder hulls in Damascus barrels, especially if they are competition 7.5 number 24gm/70MM cartridges? I would love to hear from your side. Cheers!!!
Thank you again. You bring us guns that, while read about, are very rarely seen in my area of the US.
Beautiful, fine elegant lines on these vintage guns , nothing like them 😊

Left hand glove makes shooting more comfortable when barrels get hot.
