A Brompton is made for its fold, and not for riding, and mine, what's left from my original bike, is now below 9 kilos lifted weight, though still with mudguards, though an elderly model 2019. I definitely don't need a LARGER and HEAVIER bike, which I can't even hide as folded in my car's luggage compartment, from its new size! And I had an electric, folding Makita, which also filled and specially - weighed a lot. I have also sold it again! Finn. Denmark

Exactly! The size and the weight negates the reason I bought a Brompton in the first place. Even an original sized Brompton is hard to carry without banging into your ankles if you're shorter. It weighs as much as an electric C-line without being electric! Yes, it rides nicely, but so does my full sized hybrid. 😂

Nice one Julian. Short but nevertheless.. it was sweet. We will know they have finally listened when the "J-H" Line Bromptons come out! If you get bored waiting for that, then maybe 10 reasons not to by an ATB (the newest marketing gimmick) could whet your appetite and ours.

I’ve just bought a fucking Brompton after years of full size proper bikes. This is hilarious - anyone not getting your humour is completely missing it. I’ve done 6 miles so far and it wasn’t properly unfolded. I nearly broke my fucking neck getting out of the drive. Folding fucking bikes. Who needs them? 😉😂

Smart move. Having worked as a cycling guide in France and Spain, a 40t cassette with a compact front chainset (46/30) or (50/34) would be the ideal for most riders.

Brompton is basically the Apple of folding bikes. One design remains the same with only minor changes, charges premium prices, creates a hyped up community and an in or out mentality also in regards with compatibility with most other products that follow common norms . And funny enough it has the same effect on people. It makes poor people feel better, by making them even poorer. Or tell me how many rich people need you know to commute to work using public transportation, or don't have a home where they can store a full size bike, or take their tiny folding bike with them when they go fly somewhere because renting a full premium bike where they go to isn't their thing? I don't want to offend anybody! I rather want you to analyse with me and look at the unfavourable life circumstances that are often described and out of whom the positive reasoning and gratitude for such a bicycle arise. This can also be translated into: How should your life be different, so that you wouldn't NEED a Brompton anymore, but just WANT one?

Man I needed this video my e-bike stem that snapped

On my Moulton AM22 I have also tightened the front suspension bolts to prevent bobbing, just as you did, and have also found the right compromise that still gives a comfortable ride. However, at least on the AM22 these bolts are not locked in any way, and they slowly come undone -- they can even come completely unscrewed and fall out if not regularly checked. This is a bore, so I have replaced them with slightly longer bolts with a Nyloc nut on the inside to keep them in place. You adjust the tension with the nuts loose and, once you have got it right, do up the locking nuts to keep it that way. Problem solved. (The original bolts on the AM7 had Torx heads, silly as they were the only Torx bolts on the whole bike, so I replaced them with normal Allen headed bolts.)

This is brilliant.....had me chuckling the entire way through. I've been pondering a folder and been reading/watching everything i can in an attempt to come to a decision about which one. One thing that bothered me was the amount of second hand Bromptons for sale. That is - if they are so good, why is everyone (it appears) selling theirs.....and now i see. Another thing that bothers me (thought it worth including) is the welds on Bromptons - they are the ugliest welds i've ever seen. I've been tempted to contact Brompton and recommending they instruct the welders to open their eyes - at least whilst welding bicycle frames.....Thanks for the video - entertaining and informative.

Cost a quid or so to fill it with that product (from a 1litre bottle) lasts as long as the tube last or 2 years I think they say - can just buy a new inner tube every couple years - astronomically cheaper in time and money from constant punctures and repairs
