I would probably feel the same way if I didn't still play 8 Deluxe religiously haha. I would be over the moon excited for either one, I have just been so starved for a 3D Mario game!

Wii U was completely abandoned bc it was a total failure. The only game that system got that the Switch got was BOTW and only because it was promised to come to that system first. Switch to Switch 2 is completely different and I agree what they’ve already announced should be on the switch as well. But why would anyone with a Switch go out of their way to buy a Switch 2 when they could just keep playing all the new games on the Switch? That’s why I wish for all the new games to be exclusive

You think they will announce it and wait a year to release it??? I agree I am assuming it but I find it to be logical for them to release it next year. Switch 2 may not be its name but it's a placeholder title for me to more easily talk about the Switch Successor. Does that make sense?

@@sergioflores7172 So 6 months between reveal and release. Even if they don't reveal it until March (which I think it will be earlier) we're looking at a September release if they stick to six months. So logically everyone believes that 2025 is when the Switch 2 will release

Don't apologize I love seeing long comments like this! I'm glad you agree with most of it, I tried not to wish for insane things that could never happen. Like sure I would love the next 3D Zelda to be next year and it looks amazing and totally revolutionizes everything but it's just not happening so soon after TOTK. @@RaysNintendoTalk Yup. That's how electronic magnets work. A signal is sent to magnets and it amplifies the strength of the magnetic pull. When deactivated the joy con can come right off. When activated they can't. Regardless they function as normal magnets just less strong when deactivated. The magnet button is the signal.

Not a bad idea! I had just assumed they would always be activated and ready to snap together. What do you think the back triggers do then? That's what released the joy-cons previously.

I think they are the "eject" bottons. There needs to be some form of mechanical fixture before the joycons activate. Otherwise a dead controller could simply flop out. At least those are my thoughts.

Yeah, they would be electro magnets that are activated, not passive. If they were passive, there would be far to much clamping force and dangerous for users. They work similar to an office door that has a release button. The door still requires the latch to keep it closed, but the magnet restricts it from moving. Hope that analogy helps

The only thing I didn’t like about it is that they’ve already ported several of those games over. Sure it’d be less work to cast but I just don’t think the c is related to whatever the button does

I agree with this Theory, and I think Nintendo could do it right this time. The touchscreen waa lacking on the Switch and not always used, but there were many times I wish it was. Without a feature like this, I feel the Switch 2 is lacking any sort of gimmick that Nintendo Consoles are known for. They like to push the boundaries of how you interact with the game. This feature gets a thumbs up for me 👍

What's the launch title in your opinion? We agree on MP4. Backwards compatibility is confirmed so the Zelda ports will be on switch 2. BOTW is a fair take it could simply be some kind of tech demo

I must be the only one who thinks this, but i think it would be incredibly stupid for nintendo to have MP4 as a launch title and not mario. Metroid isn't a system seller. It's a niche franchise. You need a big franchise to kick off the new launch of a console, and one that will sell systems as well as appeal to the masses. MP4 would be in a better situation to launch within the first few months of the switch 2.

@ you need to know prime 4 is one of the higher budget games out there and they have to make it the best selling of the series to surpass dread. The problem is if it puts in between Mario and Pokemon for a September launch for the console, it is doomed to fail with only 1 million copies which in the today’s gaming industry standard is a failure. If the console launch in June, Nintendo doesn’t need Mario to sell consoles for that will be saved for a few more months after launch.

FINALLY someone who agrees at least a little! I'll be interested to see what they end up doing because I can understand all sides.

There will definitely still be exclusives for the system on the first year but I feel that at the start, the games they previously announced and some other ones could be cross platformed since not everyone would be able to get the new system right away. The next Mario Kart and/or 3D Mario, which could be launch titles would be exclusive for the next console but ports/remakes, what they previously announced and a few small new titles that the switch 1 is able to support would be cross platformed. That’s usually what Nintendo does and I don’t think it’ll be subject to change. There will be things that will make people want to buy the new console but there will still be things to look forward to for the current system. The switch successor would improve those games if they are moved to it. Once year 2 comes, they might move away from the first switch to the newest system.

​@RaysNintendoTalk i afree with everything that is being said here. I do think that a year maximum is all that is needed to cross platform. Even though there is a huge switch install base, it's time to move on. The switch is really showing it's age and we need to be wowed by this next console. Give us a great reason why we should buy the switch 2. If we just keep released big games cross gen, then what's the point of moving on to the next console. Nintendo needs to avoid that mistake that sony made with the ps5.
