The dragonfruit flower was gorgeous: short lived and therefore precious. Even with the migraine you had a full week. I think you’re hard on yourself. ❤ 😊
I’m not a spinner but you have peeked my interest and I’d love to hear how you learned how to spin and your perspective on how to decide on a wheel and get started. Love your beautiful Podcast!
Not a spinner here - just a fiber enthusiast who really loves watching you make beautiful things. Thank you as always for the inspiration you provide. 😊
Thanks once again for sharing your time; this is just what I needed between my crazy days lately to be able to sit down for some time and knit along. The Dragonfruit flower is gorgeous--so glad that you were able to see it bloom! I think the handmade gift (plus drink) is a wonderful idea. I have been spinning for only about a year (yes, fell down that rabbit hole after trying out a drop spindle), but so love it and the joy and relaxation it brings. Your fiber blends are just beautiful and we would be fortunate for you to offer some for us to try! Hope the headaches stay away and you get lots of making time that brings you joy.
We've been growing dragon fruit for a few years. My husband has to pollinate it late at night for our plants to yield fruit. If he misses the window, the flower looks like it is growing a fruit but them it shrivels up and falls off a few days later. We had about 6-8 blooms a month or so ago. Only 4 of them were successfully pollinated by my "hubbee". 🤣 The flowers also smell so lovely!
Such a beautiful surprise - thanks for allowing us to share the beauty of this bloom!! What a lucky fellow to receive a birthday gift like that - handmade socks and a special beverage - it really doesn't get much better!
Wow! I would plant (grow) dragon fruit just to get those flowers! That was simply gorgeous. I would be so very happy to have that growing in my garden. I like the music you play in your videos, very nice. And I love to knit socks, but I haven´t done an afterthought heel in ages. I tend to do the shadow wrap heel, it is fast and easy for me, and it fits beautifully. You have almost convinced me to go back to the afterthought though in my next pair 🙂I think your fiber blend is lovely, the marl is beautiful. I don´t spin (yet!) but I always enjoy seeing the work of spinners. Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Yes, I'm a long time spinner, and think it's a great idea to make up some batts for us to try! What a beautiful gift for Mario's friend. I'm sure he is going to love his gift!!
Loving your style of vlog, perfect. Your first Dragon fruit flower is gorgeous. I'm still waiting for my first Dragon fruit flower. I have a huge Queen of the night cactus which had around 30 flowers in one night. The next morning they had all closed and hung limp. So glad you caught your Dragon fruit flowing. Your socks look lovely and I'm sure the ones you knit for a birthday present will be appreciated.
Happy Birthday to your boy! The flower is so breathtaking. I love the joy it gives you. I tried the afterthought heel last week and it was great. It is now my preferred choice, I enjoy the cleaner look of it than heel, flap and gusset. Thanks for the visit!
Hi from California. I’m a spinner, knitter, weaver, etc and I’ve been watching your channel from the beginning. I would love to see you make a batt. I have a blending board but not a drum carder - yet!! I’m also a gardener and love that flower - truly spectacular! Thanks for everything you share. ❤
Hello Ivana! I love finding a special gift from nature like that dragon fruit flower! Thanks for sharing it with us. Just wanted to pop in to say I am a spinner watching from Canada. Thank you for all of your episodes. xoxo Jennie
Firstly, wow- what an amazing flower! You were so lucky to see it and thank you for sharing. Also, I was thinking all the way through that you have a fab eye for colour - love the burgundy and yellow socks! As a newbie spinner I would just love to see you colour combinations for your bats. Hope you have a great week xx
Hi Ivana, Loved the flower! So beautiful! I am a spinner! My current fiber is Merino, alpaca, camel and silk. It looks just like yours. And sooooo soft! I too made my family feel it!
Hi from California! Wowza! The dragonfruit flower was stunning! Thank you for sharing with us. I’m a painter, spinner, knitter, crocheter, stitcher and sewist. Love seeing your creations and the socks have a great retro look to them. Many blessings
Hi Ivana. Awesome episode as always. That flower was beyond beautiful. I'm glad you were able to experience it's beauty. Until next time, many blessings. 💜🤗💜
I know this is a month late. I LOVE the spinning content. I am a spinner from the northeastern United States. In the state of Pennsylvania. I spun the yarn from a Tunis fleece that I bought from a 4-H boy. I also spun some alpaca and knitted the Siksik sweater from the petite knitter( look it up it has squirrels acorns and leaves in it). I got Best of show at our county fair. Keep on spinning and showing it to us. Sorry I’m late. Just now catching up on your vlogtober. ❤❤
Ivana..the socks are so beautiful. Both pair are very nice..your so good and have great taste..sorry for the migraine dear ..I do spin a bit just still learning..I find it quite difficult to have the nice tension and not making rope!! 😂😂 Love that flower..I actually saw them in Thailand when was there on holiday ..they are amazing. Great party for the young man...thank you . Sending positive vibes from SA.❤
Thank you ❤️ Don't worry about the yarn being ropey.... I couldn't get the tension right in the beginning either. You will get a hang of , it will just click ❤️
Hi. I’m a new subscriber and I’m also a long time spinner. I’ve really enjoyed your videos. The socks are beautiful and so is the flower. I think I’d be lovely to see your batts in your online store.
So cool seeing what i consider exotic fruit. Living in Ontario canada these fruits are a treat when I get to buy them here. Love your channel. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I used to get bad headaches with my period and they got worse as I got close to menopause, but once I got to the other side, I hardly have headaches anymore. I will hope this happens for you!
I love all your weaving stories and Im really interested in you loom and yarn and plans for that. Could you do a video just on the weaving? I am a knitter and I love all the videos but I always have so many questions...... :)
Lovely podcast as usual ❤️but the Beauty of the flower is magical ! Blooming on your son birthday ! I think you need to hand pollinate IT because the 2 parts of the flower are a bit car away from each other. That is what people did on the farm when I was living in Egypt. I Found some néon Pink yarn, and I would love to try the hat you were making a while ago. But I'm New to knitting hats, i've always crochet Them. Because the yarn is a Dk and for myself, how Manu stichtes should I cast on ? If you Ivana or someone can Tell me, I would very appreciate IT. I absolutely Loved the scene where you Do the Heel while Assassin Creed is Watching over. Have a good week !
I don't usually knit DK hats but I would think about 80 stitches on 4mm needles. You can try and if you feel it is to small of circumference, just increase as you go... it won't matter as that can be to top of your hat. ❤️
I am a spinner and prep fleeces from washing to carding but have lost my mojo. I need to get back into doing it. But have no-one to urge me on. No groups where I live. I bought a camel batt to spin but then thought I need to mix with wool before knitting it up as my thinking is it will stretch like alpacca if spun alone?
yep, I’m a spinner but I’m in the U.S. and it’s usually cost prohibitive with the shipping cost. I look for native breeds of sheep from foreign countries that I wouldn’t be able to get here.
I take Topimax for my migraines and no one told me a side effect could be kidney stones until I had a 14mm one last year. I've since lowered my dosage a significant amount and since have had 2 much smaller ones. Fingers crossed, no more are there. Good luck with your journey, it's not fun for sure. My neice gets botox shots in her forehead and head that seem to help her.
I hope it is not inappropriate to let you know here in these comments, that I give my full permission for you to show a little something I have sent you out of 100% linen, in your channel if you choose to. Even the flaws! Because I find it so amazing for creators to be honest with their creative process, and share their resourcefulness with others. So weather you have a use for it, or even decide to rip it out and repurpose the linen for another project, I think it's fun to share. Thank you ! Debra from California USA
The Queen of the Night. A beautiful flower!ll.
The dragonfruit flower was gorgeous: short lived and therefore precious. Even with the migraine you had a full week. I think you’re hard on yourself. ❤ 😊
thank you, and yes I do tend to be hard on myself and expect a lot... that is something I'm working on ❤️
The flowers are lovely. I enjoy your garden ideas as well as the knitting and spinning. Thankyou
thank you ❤️
Wow! The dragon fruit flower is gorgeous!
Wonderful episode as always. The dragon fruit flower is amazing! I'm so glad we got to see it. What a beautiful omen. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚

I am a spinner but I don’t often use the yarn that I spin. I really admire how you use your handmade yarn. I am inspired to use mine .
you should definitely use it... it has such a beautiful tactile feel to it ❤️

thank you for letting me know. I did see ants inside the flower when it opened so maybe they pollinated it... fingers crossed ❤️
Hi Ivana, What a Beautiful Flower and I love the name, Queen of the Night. I am a spinner, and knitter. I love knitting while watching your vlog.
Thank you! 😊

We seem similar, except that I don't stitch or saw, but it is on my list ❤️
We are! I have 2 grown boys and I like your Tshirts haha I used to make jewelry too. Love your beautiful stitch marker sets! Blessings
Good morning from Iowa City,IA USA!! 🇺🇸 Love watching your podcasts!! I am a longtime knitter & crocheter but a newly self-taught spinner!!

Congratulations on your 100th podcast. That is a huge milestone. Hope you are going to celebrate. I just did my 9th episode. Have a lovely day.
it wasn't my 100th podcast, you must have confused me with Pia from Traveling Misknits. But thank you anyway ❤️
