Sadly my first experience with Feelgrounds shoes was also unsuccessful. These have more space for the toes but the taper around the mid foot is simply too narrow.
Not only that I had to pay €10 shipping even though I spent over €200. Then to return it cost another €10.
If you're looking to try out different sizes then this would be a costly endeavour. A personal recommendation would be VIVOBAREFOOT as you get the 100 day free trial and (at time of writing) only pay shipping to return.

    Several years ago, Vivobarefoot used to give correct information about the fit of their shoes; now, it is always "fits true to size", so there is no clue whether shoes specificities, like inside materials or warm insulation, will affect fit. I have (and have had) lots of Vivos and my size varies from 41 to 42 according to upper material (synthetic textiles usually don't stretch like leather), lining, what kind of socks I am likely to use, and use of insole or not. Sometimes I choose 42 and it is a little too large (with Vivos flexibility, it is not a great problem, even with thin socks), and sometimes 41 is a little small (removing the insole and avoiding thick socks always solve the problem). Usually I choose 42 for mountain, trail or winter shoes (and Gobis with synthetic upper material), and 41 for all other kind of Vivos. Maybe the full leather lining removes enough inside space, so this Gobi sneakers become uncomfortable. The additional leather toes protection, which seems to bend upper leather, may also reduce available space for toes... Did you try the shoes without insole ? This version of Gobi sneakers does not seem to be available anymore in full leather; a new version is now available, but I don't like it too much (in pictures; there is no shop selling Vivos where I live).

      im fining this, im also a 42 in most shoes, i have gobi, ra in 42 and fit fine but my primus lites are massive in 42, i should've sent them back really so i'm stuck with them. Im really struggling on what size to order in a primus trail 2 and/or the gobi sneaker leather mens in black! 🤨

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 4 години тому

      Yeah I know what you're saying. With the Gobi sneaker I did try without the insole in but while it helped they still ran a little narrow and, most importantly, too short. I always go for their biggest which is a UK 14 / EU49 and they'll either fit or not. In general they fit just right or will run short. Rarely will they be too long. Although saying that, for the first time in a while I've got a pair of the new Motus Flex and maybe, just maybe I could have got a size down, BUT i'd always rather they have a little extra space than fit snug. Like you say depending on socks etc, and for me I actually find that in warm weather and just being on feet all day my feet swell up so the whole shoe can end up feeling tight so a generally looser fit is usually preferred when I get any.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 4 години тому

      yeah that can be very annoying having to keep trying. And the sizes are inconsistent across the range so if you are in between sizes then you do have to do a lot of trial and error.

    Sooooo I bought the Master 3S today----and I'm already considering returning it. It's a great mouse----but I can already feel my hand/wrist getting fatigued and having pain. ...which is weird, because I've used an Apple Magic Mouse for years. Guess I'm so used to the "Claw Grip" ... I might try the Anywhere 3S for Mac and see. Meh... Oh well.

    It’s like comparing tractors with mustangs, they are both great at what they do and cannot be compared. Magic Mouse is no mouse you can compare to the mx master. One is a trackpad on a moving device and the mx master is a specialized device and only being a mouse.

    If I’ve updated file names and or moved around folders on my Mac, will the changes be reflected on Backblaze also? My issue is that my files on my Mac can get messy and all over the place after a while and I do eventually organise everything, but I don’t want to have to do that twice (once on my Mac and again on Backblaze). I’m guessing as it’s just a mirror, everything on Backblaze will update accordingly?

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 8 днів тому

      Correct it’s just a mirror so if you move or rename it will update it server side. I double checked this as I think I miss quoted something before but it won’t need to re upload BUT it does add changes to the upload queue. But when it checks the file if it hasn’t change and only moved then it will just make the change server side for Backblaze rather than re upload a duplicate.

    surprisingly i like them! They look like a regular casual shoe kind of remind me of the reebok club C. Compared to my primus knit they feel a little more spacious but not as stretchy because of the material. The only thing i didn’t like were the corkscrew insoles. My foot kept sliding around. Easy fix just swapped out some old primus knit insoles and that did the job.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 9 днів тому

      Yeah that is the thing I notice about the cork insole. It does tend to slide. I had them in a different pair and found they slid back towards the heel then I could feel the gap under my toes. But I usually remove the insoles anyway so less of an issue

    I had to return them, they hurt my toe when I bent my foot. No Vivo model has ever hurt me or I have needed time to break them in. For me, Vivo shoes have to fit like a glove and be soft from day one. I have narrow feet so they are a little bit wide for me.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 11 днів тому

      Ah that’s a shame! Yes I agree, you should be able to put on a pair of shoes and know pretty much immediately if they’re going to fit / be comfortable or not. In rare occasions something can change after a bit of time but in my experience that’s usually in the negative sense. Something you thought fit well then starts to pinch or run a little short or narrow so when your feet expand they’re not right. My feet are roughly in the middle when it comes to width so a lot of Vivos tend to fit just right, or in some cases can feel a bit narrow

  • @ShelbyGG
    @ShelbyGG 15 днів тому

    The dpi is not just the speed but also the resolution. That means, at for example 500 dpi set up, the mouse still runs at 8 thousand dpi (at least with the dongle), so the movement will be much more precised. Also the Magic Mouse runs at 90 hz, so u see a delay and the cursor is lagging a little bit on the 120 hz MacBook Display

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 14 днів тому

      I've not noticed the impact on the 120hz display but rarely use the magic mouse now, only for when I'm away from my desk and at that point I usually do more admin than anything mouse heavy. With the dpi though it seems to manifest as faster movement if I dial it up. Are you saying you could dampen the responsiveness but still have the accuracy? As in my head you crank the dpi and it's as if you're "scaling" the way it reads a surface so it reads more movement in less space.

  • @ShelbyGG
    @ShelbyGG 15 днів тому

    Mouse acceleration is native in macOS, that means that u have this with every mouse if you don’t turn it off in the settings. I think Logitech options + also has mouse acceleration 7:09

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 14 днів тому

      Interesting. I couldn't see any options in the Logi Options+ app. I just get options for 'speed' on a 0-100% scale. Or I can 'extend dpi range' and then it uses a dpi scale to 8000. The result is still the mouse going mega fast!

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 16 днів тому

      You know that’s a really good point! Never thought about that. What happened when they got wet? Did they discolour? Their magna FG do change colour from wearing but that’s just general wear, water doesn’t make them any worse if that makes sense. I imagine the new leather ones they’ve released would be much more durable in that respect

    • @depeelc

      Yeah even "wide' shoes aren't that wide in the grand scheme of things. Vivobarefoot are ok and my preferred brand but even some of theirs don't get wide enough. And if you're starting out with barefoot shoes and the width is already close, as your feet get a little wider over time then you're going to find less of the shoes fitting as well as they used to. That's what happened to me anyway.

    Same height/volume issue here with the Nexus which came today, I'm a UK13. But I had a spare set of Vivo thermal insoles which have a bit more thickness to them and also in size 13. And yep, that's done the trick, Vivo insoles aren't quite the same as Xero, but they squished in, and I also used the included Nexus insoles too, which go best on top, and the Xero insoles also have a less slippy fabric which feels better with a looser fit. I tried out the Primus Lites knit in UK 13 but they are bigger inside than the 'firm ground'-FG versions from Vivo, so sent those back, yet I'm a bit reluctant to get the 12's now as I'm seeing some sole detaching away early issues on some Amazon reviews. perhaps just depends on how you use them, but these Xero Nexus do have a tough feeling sole, the Vivo Primus Lites felt in contrast very soft rubber, yet not sure if it's a material or glue issue, if at all. And it's the Vivo Primus Trail Knits in UK13 that I bought first, but as I learnt from another youtube vid, the issue with those can be the main crease point around the small toe area, the upper side material is tough and quite wide there, and creates some unpleasant inward crease points, so I can only really use them now with thicker socks, otherwise good barefoot shoes.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 26 днів тому

      I’ve not had any issues with my Primus Lite Knit but It probably depends how people use them. I’ve got lots of different pairs of Vivos for different occasions and my Primus Knit are a more casual wear rather that getting hammered by exercise, or sport so could be that. I’ve never had any true failures with glue though. I’ve got some magna FG, an older pair of Geo racer and a Primus Lite, all of which have an area where the sole has started to come away from the upper slightly. BUT it only ever seems to be at an edge, either the heel or round the little toe let’s say. But it’s never progressed any further round or under the shoe so I think they’re a high stress point but once it gives there then there’s no additional stress so seems to last. Just an assumption but that’s based on my personal experience.

    I’m thinking of doing similar. I’m going to get a Leccie external hard drive for my photos and Lightroom catalog files. I can then move easily between computers. I’ll then log back into my main desktop to send to the cloud. Just wondering whether to buy a SSD external drive or a HDD external drive. From the pricing I assume you use HDD. Just wondering if you use them like I want to (work directly on the files saved on the external HDD) and if you find that fast enough for editing?

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge Місяць тому

      Really good question and one I still think about each time I get new drives. To keep it brief I'd say SSD is the better option because of speed, size and inherent ruggedness (no moving parts). But both are totally viable. I do think you can still use a HDD for photo editing without any issues. I even use for some video still and totally useable. They're certainly more cost effective but, based on my experience they're more susceptible to physical damage, if you dropped it or somehow aggressively shook it. Obviously an SSD isn't invincible either but there's no moving parts to be bent out of shape.

    Lesson learned: When walking "properly", my toes spread apart quite a bit when I step and then take up even more space. A roomy toe box (all the way up to the heel) is therefore an absolute must and all shoes that don't offer this are automatically dead for me.

Switching between desktops is more difficult with the MX 3S. I didn't even notice the gesture button! I'm trying to find apps that use the buttons. Yeah I agree nothing quite matches the gestures on the Magic Mouse. On the MX Master 3S the horizontal scroll usually works to mimic the delete swipe in a lot of apps but it’s definitely not as graceful. I always feel it takes a little over one scroll with the thumb so not quite as slick. Definitely more comfortable for those with larger hands though

      No they’ve never rubbed there for me. I’ve got 2 pairs, a RA II and a RA III and neither rub. I find that these are generally on the looser side though too so they’re never tight enough for that friction to cause a blister. For me anyway. 👍🏻

    You could try Xero Prio, which are wider and their trail sandal that isn't flimsy. Though your feet may be too long, as you said you already wore the biggest size. I have no problem with the Dillion or any other Xero shoe though. I much prefer them to Vivobarefoot. Typically all my Xero shoes at half a size bigger than I'd wear in Vivobarefoot. I don't like Vivo's ultra thin sole that is not well glued to their protective membrane. Scary having such expensive shoes creek like crazy because of this on a pair of primus lite that I had. Also the front of the sole hinges up then downwards and makes a slapping sound on a few models that I tried. Inside of the sole being almost a straight line and not curved does not suit me either. I also like Groundies. They have regular barefoot and a barefoot plus option for more width. Quite a big range to choose from too.

      😂 true but I think you’re missing the point. As in I’m trying to find shoes for when I need to wear shoes. I don’t want to wear shoes all the time so I don’t but we also have to wear shoes, so this is why I (and everyone else) wears shoes at specific times. Hence why we all own shoes. I’m aware there’s also an argument that you shouldn’t have to give in to social norms and put shoes on just because everyone else does but if we take that logic to the extreme we may as well be walking around naked all the time if we wanted to. That, I don’t believe, is something as many people would agree with.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge Місяць тому

      Hmm, it could be that they've just sold out of the boot and wont restock till the winter. If you keep an eye on their range you'll notice they have some "forever stock" or whatever the term is which means they stock all year round with some seasonal colourways to mix things up. Then you have their seasonal range which, as you'd expect they stock for the season, run a sale on any remaining till they run out then you won't see them again till next season. I'm not certain but It could be that the Gobi boot was a seasonal shoe. It was also a new style so perhaps they wanted to test the popularity near end of season to get a bit of demand without committing. Purely speculative on that but based on experience the seasonal thing is the most likely. Unless they had horrendous quality / manufacturing issues.

    Freet shoes, a small UK company, that make fantastic fitting shoes. Crucially, the shoes do not begin to curve inwards, untill they are past the big toe. i.e. on the inside of the foot, its almost a straight line, from the heal until past the big toe. I have three pairs, and they were actually how I discovered barefoot shoes in the first place. I encountered their stall at a food trade fare, was just curious, and chatted with the company owned. In hind sight, a life changing moment. The older designs are, if I am honest, not that pretty, but the newer models look good. The main thing however is the fit. It's just really great. Also the prices are good, and its a UK company! I have run Ultras in their Feldom (I tried the Xero Messa Trail first, got toe blisters, too narrow!) and my every day show is the Pace, lasted 3 seasons so far, apart from summer, where I wear almost exclusively Bedrock Cairn Sandals. For fit and comfort, I really rate Freet.

      Hmm, I don't have any issues with mine BUT it is the Mac specific version. Yours is the one with the dongle right? I can't imagine there's any reason why it would have any issues though. The only other thing I can think is potentially your environment. Do you have a lot of other bluetooth stuff connected or are you surrounded by other electrical stuff? When I was in a previous office I used to be in a narrow space and right next to a WiFi router. My Magic Mouse used to jitter and lag. Not all the time but there was often interference and very frequent. I then tried moving to a different space, further away from the router and in a more open area and it solved the issue! Definitely worth looking at the area you're operating in. Hope that can help a little.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge 2 місяці тому

      I’m really not sure. I think for me anyway, going up a size if I could probably wouldn’t solve their narrowness. My feet were pressed to the sides as soon as they were on my feet so I can only imagine after wearing them for a few hours they would get worse. If you’re on the fence with them yourself, I’d suggest sizing up if you can for the length assuming your foot width is average. If you’ve got wide feet unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend them. You don’t have to take my word though as Vivo have the 100 day free trial so you can always give them a go yourself and return if they’re not a fit 👌🏻
