    Another great review, Harrison! Now I want a pair of these too. I like the black in white look for casual wear.

      Yeah love these for a smart casual look. Especially in winter time. As it’s warming up I’m moving over to my geo court 3 in black and white 👌🏻

    Good one! Got myself these exact ones a few weeks ago. The fit is more snug than my Geo Courts though. But overall very happy with the design, comfort and warmth! I heard some people had issues with the lace holder coming apart from the shoe, hope that doesn't happen 🤞

    • @harrisonmudge

      Yeah, love the design of them. My other pair are still holding up too. No issues with the lace holders, yet, but I don’t hammer them like some people might.

    I have a pair of these (in obsidian gum color) and they're the best shoes I've ever owned. Just wish the leather loop strap was stronger, I've had it stitched back a few times before they came out completely. Then my local cobbler put in new leather straps that were super strong.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  11 місяців тому

      Nice! Yeah they’re great. If I’m honest they could do with being a smidgen wider now as I feel my feet have spread a bit. But yeah they are awesome. Glad your cobbler could fix the weakness in those traps too 👌🏻

  • @marcb1289

    I have these in black (with tan soles) and (newly) in acorn (my first buy at Revivo). I find that these shoes are very versatile: they have the look of sneaker boots with the technicity of trekking shoes and leightness of trail shoes.
    My only "complaint" about these shoes, and other similar models: they should be sold with two pairs of insoles, one "winter" and one "summer" (the ones with lots of holes are very good for walking and running in summer, but they seem to be withdrawned from Vivobarefoot catalog). I cannot use Vivos (any model) either with or without insoles, according to weather, because the inside volume change is too important to have correct and comfortable tightening in both cases (according to model and size, I do always, or don't always, use insoles)

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  2 роки тому

      Interesting what you say about the insoles. I’m kinda similar. The impact on the internal volume on some pairs, is the difference of them fitting or getting ‘tight’ when my feet get warm.
      I like to wear a lot of mine without the insole but they’re no good like that in winter if they don’t have a thicker firm ground outsole.
      The other minor annoyance which I mentioned in the Geo Court III video is the insole has a tendency to shift towards the heel when I where them. Doesn’t happen in the Magna or Trackers so maybe it’s the bottom of the cork insole that’s the issue 🤔

      @@harrisonmudge picked these because they looked dope and much more like the style of shoes I already wear and will be my first pair of a barefoot style shoe. 11.5 US so I picked a 12. The sizing guide said 15 and the picture option told me 12.5 so here’s to hoping lol

      Wow quite a range there then! It’ll be interesting to see how they fit you then. I go for the size I am, which is a UK 14, the biggest they do.
      Annoyingly not all of their 14s are the same. Really frustrating as they always run smaller rather than bigger

    Got a pair of these in EU 42 and they're definitely bigger than other shoes I own in that size. They make a hollow thwop sound when I walk in them due to the space between my big toes and the tips of the shoes, and it feels like I will easily get them caught on things when walking around. Plus I can't return them easily cuz i got them through Revivo and I live in the US. :/ gonna have to sell them

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому +2

      Yeah this is really interesting you say that. I’ve got a new video coming out soon and the consistency of their sizes is something I talk about. I don’t know how they’re measuring them but between their own styles they seem to run bigger or smaller depending what you get.
      I’m even tempted to buy 2 of the same pair to see if they actually do fit the same!

    • @Habanecro
      @Habanecro Рік тому

      @@harrisonmudge Looking forward to the new video! Also...
      Out of curiosity I measured my Magna FGs compared to my mens US 9 Splay Freestyles earlier today.
      Vivo's sizing chart indicates the insole length of their mens US 9 shoes should be 26.6 cm.
      Splay's sizing chart indicates the insole length of their mens US 9 shoes should be 27.3 cm.
      My Splays were the exact length they were supposed to be and fit me well, though they're on the spacious side. The Magna FG insoles on the other hand? They were almost 28 cm long - essentially two sizes larger than what the sizing guide says they should be. Insanity.
      I don't know why Vivobarefoot thought such a wild discrepancy in sizing was acceptable, but they could at least provide detailed measurements for all their different shoes so we could avoid crap like this.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому

      Yeah there’s definitely an improvement to be made around the consistency of their sizes. I’ve noticed even on a pair, the outer sole can look slightly different, as if the rubber sat in the mould differently. It’s pretty crazy

    New to Vivo’s and minimalist shoe (this exact pair) but got myself a pair at a good price the other day. Just wanted to know do you wear these without socks?

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  2 роки тому +1

      Hey James! Welcome to the club. Good question. Personally I always wear socks with all mine just like I always have. Other people do like to go bare foot in theirs but it’s all down to personal preferences.
      Interestingly if I wear my Geo racers to exercise in then I do take my socks off. I find it gives me more grip within the shoe it’s self. But any other time I’m socks on. 👌🏻

    would these be a good starter barefoot shoe? also whats the sizing like im a 42 in Birkenstocks but not sure if id be the same in this

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah I’d say so. They have the slightly thicker outsole, combined with the thermal insole and it’s reasonably cushioned enough not to be uncomfortable if you’re starting out.
      Size wise, if I’m not mistaken the Birkenstock are pretty similar length measurements to vivo so I’d say you’ll likely be good going for a 42 still. 👌🏻

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому

      Ah no good mate! Is it just the lip of the soul or is it really coming apart? Mine have done it a bit but it’s not coming apart, it’s just separated a bit. It doesn’t seem to be getting any worse though so it might be just where there’s a lot of flex 🤔

    • @alcurtis93
      @alcurtis93 Рік тому

      @@harrisonmudge it's the lip but it's frustrating. I'm tempted to get a pair of the forest ESC as I do like to walk off road and perhaps this shoe just won't handle that environment despite it being advertised for it. The forest is stitched so shouldn't be an issue with any luck

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому

      Yeah I know what you mean. Gives you the impression it’s falling apart already.
      I have the tracker, had them for a few years now and the bottom is slightly separating from the upper but it’s still extremely water resistant and I’ve not noticed any water ingress from the separated areas.
      I’d need to do a proper test though as can’t say I’ve actively stood in water to confirm it properly.
      I’ll have to do a proper review on them as they’ve been a seriously tough pair 👌🏻

  • @smeshfactory3992
    @smeshfactory3992 Рік тому

    Really wish the sole was stitched all around to the body as that's where my other pair failed within weeks, not sure whey they can't just do that!

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому

      Yeah I know what you’re saying. They’re glued in and for a boot that could be taking a beating they could do with being reinforced in that area. I imagine it’d add more cost though and depends how much better it would be.
      Did the sole come off at all or just away at the edge?
      A pair of mine have come away slightly but not to the point of being detrimental

    • @smeshfactory3992
      @smeshfactory3992 Рік тому

      @@harrisonmudge On my right shoe I think it was where the toe box bends it started to come away and I wasn't going to accept that for something that was £170, I'd rather pay up to £200 if it mean it was stitched like some of their other shoes.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому +1

      Yeah same sort of place then. I think it’s an inherent challenge with barefoot shoes due to them flexing more than normal. (Maybe)
      Ideally we shouldn’t have to pay more so they don’t fall apart though. £170 is a hefty enough price to pay. You don’t get this issue on cheap shoes that cost £30

      I love my magnas as well and would love to by another pair, but I have also started seeing a bit of separation where it’s glued. They’re still wearable tho. I did just order a pair of magna esc on clearance which have a stitched sole, hoping those hold up.

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому

      Nice! I kept eyeing the Escape up but couldn’t justify them. I’ve got a pair of trackers that are still in great condition and really have stood the test of time. These don’t have st itch on the sole but they’re still holding together. Just slight separation where the bend / fold is at the toe box which I would expect.

  • @mainsourcery

    I had the tracker FG, and they unfortunately ran a bit short, and the lockdown was bad as my foot was sliding around in them. Do these run longer than the FG by any chance, and is the lockdown significantly better at all on the Magna FG?

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Рік тому +1

      I have the Tracker too and I’d say the length is about the same to be honest, or not significantly different to notice much.
      Interesting question about the lockdown. With the tracker I definitely don’t have that issue as all the laces and high ankle provide great support so it doesn’t shift at all.
      The magna definitely has a looser ankle and top due to the knitted upper bits. For me it fits pretty well without too much slippage but if you need to tighten them up more to lock it down then you may not be too happy but again hard to really say without trying them.
      Worth taking a punt on them though if you like the style and you could always size up maybe?

      I had someone ask similar about a different shoe.

      No problem mate, I try to help where I can.
      I’ll be honest I’m out my depth beyond what I just shared. I would say it’s worth giving these a try BUT if you’ve not worn barefoot shoes before and then you’re also going to be doing intense sport then that’s a big leap.
      There’s a transition just getting used to minimal shoes on a daily basis so you’d definitely need to build up to basket ball in them 😅
      Another pair of Vivos i could recommend though is the Primus Lite Knit. Very trainer focused but in my experience they’re a really nice snug fit due to their elastic knit design. But again these also don’t have any ankle support if you’re looking for that.

    I have been following you as you have the same size feet as me (size 14) I ended up with the vivomotus strength which fit me perfectly ( at first), for some reason every other vivobarefoot doesnt seem to fit me at all. Do you have this issue? I feel like my feet have expanded

    • @harrisonmudge
      @harrisonmudge  Місяць тому

      Hey bud. Interesting you say that.
      My feet have definitely increased in size. Initially I was a 13 (ish) in regular shoes but always bought the Vivos 14. Just like you I initially had space in everything I bought but now, as my feet have had the chance to spread they’ve increased in size a bit so now, depending on the model of Vivos I try, some fit some don’t. Which is quite annoying from a consistency standpoint point.
      Some can lack the length, some the width, some both. Others fit great. Hence why I try a lot of them.
      What’s your size issue, is it both width and length or just one?

    • @hairyanna_grandpa

      @@harrisonmudge im still figuring it out , i think its mainly the left foot that fits too snug now and my sciatica has returned ( it went when i started using vivos). @harrisonmudge  Місяць тому

      Yeah it’s annoyingly a bit of a process of elimination to find a brand that favours your foot shape. Vivo seem to (mostly) work great for me but others just seem off. But then other people try Vivos and have the inverse experience. It’d be nice if there was physical stores dedicated to minimalist shoes, and that actually stocked all sizes, but even the Vivo store don’t stock a 14 so it’s a little bit redundant for me sadly

      I’ve been wearing Vivos for a while but I’d say they usually fit your current size but have a little extra space for your feet to move.
      You may also find your feet ‘grow’ a little bit as they get chance to spread out. I went from a 13 to a 14 UK. But I’ve always had big feet so once my toes straightened out it’s like they just went to their proper size!
