Think we all agree that the DLCs seem to put more work into these DLCs story they have a deeper meaning as Fallout 3 had some nice DLCs that gave more to lore and story even if wasn't related the game (besides Broken Steel) Borderlands did a similar thing in 1 and 2 otherwise Fallout NV and 2 have mini DLCs for extra stuff to use in NV Gun Runners gave us more nice toys to play with which can help people if want some weapons to challenge the Dsathclaw hoards while Borderlands 2 Headhunter DLCs gave some side stuff to do in new maps and small details

The other thing is even though these characters and events have such a pervasive affect on the base game, not playing them doesn’t ruin the base game. too many dlcs now are basically the end of the game which you have to pay extra for

Yeah the only way to enjoy this is if you turn your brain off and didn't care about fallout lore, then it's a decent enough show. Otherwise the show's writing is trash and even more inconsistent then Bethseda's own fallout. They couldn't even stick to their own lore and were so eager to destroy everything better writers of old Obsidian and interplay wrote. Might have been better if Fallout hired fanfiction writers, there are a lot of them that really care about fallout lore, unlike the writers of this show and Bethseda.

If Fallout show is the "pinnacle of movie adaptations" Then... movie adaptations have seriously hit the rock bottom if THATS what is considered a "pinnacle" these days. I mean, Fallout is okay i suppose. Clearly lore breaks are all over the place, but it's enjoyable enough if you shutdown your brain i suppose, but that doesn't make it a "pinnacle" it makes it tolerable at best. And if tolerable at best is considered "pinnacle" then dear god we're fucked.

Whats crazy about the minutemen is that they have small bits of lore that could've been taken advantage of, but no ... the community had to take it upon itself to mod in storylines to make the minutemen even remotely interesting.

i liked the show i can see its flaws but i liked it. But just because a character is a terribly evil person that doesn't mean that he's a bad character. Jack Horner is shamelessly evil ass deep as a pudle but you wouldn't say he is a "bad character". Jack Horner is not trying to be a complex character. And i don't think hank is either. What i love about this letting go is that it’s actually slow. Like you CAN still find those factions and do fun quests for them but the only importance they carry if you dont want to do those quests is power armor training and dealing with the bos for the main story

They also made the super mutants way less interesting in comparison to their first introductions in one and two. Super mutants were way more scary they could use any heavy weapon with one hand with a little to no issue. Firing with Falato with mini guns with one hand. Because of that, they really did lose their intimidation factor to me they’re also supposed to look a lot weirder and a lot taller than they are in the most recent games.

The simple fact is that Bethesda doesn’t want to change because of their laziness and unwillingness to be creative or come up with anything new or risky. Nothing beyond fallout new Vegas, as well as the first two games really makes sense anymore. It also doesn’t help that the only really get but of fallout content we’ve gotten was from the TV show and even then it’s pretty it has lots of things to pick apart and lots of controversies. I liked it personally didn’t like a lot of the changes they did I also didn’t like how it was basically just a comedy. It’s supposed to be dark and serious but it’s not taken that way.

It wasn’t intended to kill its user, but after 200 years and being fixed up by people who don’t fully understand it, the pod is glitchy. To be honest, fallout should have been a drama tv show with horror elements rather than this quirky borderlands style comedy show. It's a shame that writing has been completely taken over by insufferable millennials who think peak comedy is what ever shit sitcom they grew up with.

Nailed it. I'm unsure if any US network and the writers they choose to employ today can make a good show any longer of any kind. Whether faithful to an existing concept or generate a new one. American TV and movies are absolute crap right now, which is sad considering their older history. I wish a foreign European TV network had taken on this show. I think we all got carried away with just the idea of Fallout coming to TV and then accepted its low par writing then we realised that's its absolute trash, just like everything today. It's so bad and it will get worse. It's tragic for fans and also viewers being introduced to the Fallout world. It's akin to the Rings of Power sadly. The few goods points are not enough. Too much US TV is thrown together these days regardless of the money being spent.

I'm noticing a lot of these arguments are essentially boiling down to "well fallout/game adaptations already have a set standard/reputation of being shit, so why should we want better than that?". This sort of logic is mildly infuriating... they're basically being complacent in media products skimming on quality because similar media has been doing it for years now. Why not call out the writers and producers for mishandling a franchise that they evidently don't have any passion for making?

Im playing this for the first time and i believe it has the most realistic and brutal world building. Fallout 4 is really cartoony compared and nv is just shacks everywhere other than the city. I adore fallout 3 so far but 4 will always be my fav bc of the gunplay
