      Although you could it would leave the lid ajar slightly causing some steam to escape. So technically not the way it was intended to be used.

      I will ask again as there are a handful of items that I've been nudging them to sell for a while. Another would be just the head units for the Blichmann Pumps. This way you could swap out the Tri-Clamp for the NPT or the other way around based on your brewing equipment.

      I get where you are coming from but if you take a moment you can see they actually have several targets: Keep in mind it isn't a "Brewing System", but a "Ferment and Serve" system. The same way "Brewing Systems" aren't "Ferment and Serve" systems. 1. The person who just wants to buy 5L Kegs and serve it. 2. The entertainer or host of course from Beer, Cider, Kombucha, Wine, to Seltzer. 3. The person that has a small space and simply doesn't want to go deep into the home brewing knowledge level. 4. The dedicated home brewer that loves to experiment and wants to do it on a small scale with minimal labor.

      @BitterRealityBrewing 5 днів тому

      I feel you, as I'm starting to have a lot of fun experimenting. I have an upcoming video where I just used to pots and a colander to brew a Tripel that is in the iGulu now, being enjoyed.

      @@PIGGY789 can you explain how you experiement with this? Its a kit with instructions you follow. The benefit to normal extract brewing is that it gets you involved in the process this doesn't At all. It over complicates something that doesn't need to be complicated. This proudct restricts experimentation and learning. This is the microwave version of brewing beer.

      @donaldgarrell5467 The Igulu is not just for brewing kits, for example I am currently enjoying a Hopped hard cider, made with apple juice and hop pellets, previously I've done a hazy pale ale with DME and Citra hop pellets, I know it's not for everyone but I love it because I don't have the time for all grain brewing at the moment, but hopefully one day I will have more time.

      @BitterRealityBrewing 9 днів тому

      Yeah, I've heard that which is a lot like their fermenters, but I would expect they can easily go 4 to 5 years without issues. The big concern is holding pressure without breaking as plastic of any kind can become brittle over the years mainly due to UV exposure, which mine are exposed to as little as possible without keeping them in the dark. It is only 1 gallon and the company doesn't suggest over 1 month. I've started just transferring the beer to another 1 gallon keg, which is extremely easy to do and quick. As for the dry hopping, I fully agree after the 3 to 7 days based on your preference (I like 3 to 5 days),. I would always recommend transferring to another pre-purged keg.

    I also own 6 Oxebars (8L and 4L models). Pushed one to 6 months and couldn't taste anything bad/strange. Considering the low price point, the only bad thing IMHO is that the 8L kegs fall over very easily... Sure, stainless steel kegs are better, but also much more expensive.

      It might be perfect I saw this now, as I just watched another home brewing video where they were selling 3D printed stands for the 8L Kegs. Thinking something like that might be coming out from KegLand next to help keep them standing up. When they are full, it isn't a problem, but when they get low, it is hard to keep them upright sometimes.

    I have a few of these and a homemade kegerator that only fits one corny keg but I can put one of these next to the keg and have two beers on tap in my kegerator. So far what I've done is when the keg get low I transfer to the oxebar then can fill the keg with a new brew. I just got a couple of the 4 liter oxebar and now I'm going to try kegging 1-4 liter and 2-8 liter with a 5 gallon batch.

    I've the 4l versions with nukatap mini, flow control cap and 360 regulator with sodastream bottle. Great little party kegs with this combo. Would love Kegland to make a non permanent stand for them as they can be a bit wobbly. Also Kegland if you are listening, can you bring out an all rounder with a permanent flat plastic stand instead of a wire one. That's what puts me off buying the all rounder

    Just ordered this few days ago and I’m also thinking on the Core 360. 😂

      I also use the Core 360, but also own two very similar devices from Ikegger and Brouwland (Belgium). The Ikegger and Brouwland ones are considerably better, imho, so if you can get your hands on one of those in your country, I would definitely recommend them instead of the one from Kegland.

    Lucky I found this video; I was tearing my hair out over the shank installation until I saw how you did it, and saw the order of shank, washer,nut and duotight connector, as well as the silly foam insert. I only had two shanks to install in my tower, but the tower is even more narrow and not much room there to wrestle the shanks in place. Thanks!

    Just wanted to share that the website for inkbird states they are dual voltage 120/220 and I can confirm that! The US spec version works on 220v as well, here in Europe just needs a plug adapter.

    I’m ordering this kit and I have a question. What was your fermentation schedule? Also what yeast did you use

      Vito from MoreBeer recommended Nova Lager, which can ferment at 50 to 68 F. As it was a hoppy beer, I felt a warmer temp within that range would be best. I fermented it at 64 F for the entire time and kept those temps during dry hopping at around 10 psi during fermentation. (pressure fermentation isn't necessary.) Once it was done, pressure (closed) transferred it to a keg with a small amount of Gelatin (about 1/2 tsp dissolved) and cold crashed it under CO2 pressure for about 1 week before putting it on tap. (If you don't ferment it under pressure, you may need two weeks under CO2 to reach proper carbonation.) My keg is getting close to kicking, as it is still my go-to beer at the moment.

      I think I might try brewing this or a like Cold IPA again but maybe try Lunar Crush from Omega to see if I can kick the aromas up as it is a Thiolized Lager yeast.

    Gentleman, how did you keep the beer foam down? I am getting full glasses of foam. Recommendations??

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing 17 днів тому

      During fermentation, I would purge the CO2 down using the PRV once a day to around 10 psi. I think they made a major difference, and once it was ready to serve, I made sure to keep the CO2 down around 12 psi, which is pretty easy if you have a CO2 tank connected. I will say it seems to very sometimes as the Wheat and Cider were really easy, but the first Pale Ale was a bit frustrating with the foam, but I think I have it under control now with my Belgian Tripel I'm drinking that was fermented with the iGulu.

    So nice to see your son hanging with Dad and tossing a brew back together. I hope in years to come, he'll recall this moment and it will be a good moment with Dad. I wish I could have shared some of my brews with my Dad...no matter. Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there. Really nice share. Prost!

    My pizza was burning I didn't remember what I was doing. Watching your video. Crap,crap,crap. And if you're brewing 10 gallons buy two kits. Should there be a discount for unmilled grains? 10% sure why not. And now I have to try hopnossis.

    Nice series of videos on the Hopnosis kit and the Spike system! I have one of the Hopnosis kits, and your videos got me excited to brew it next. I'm currently drinking Ron Mexico Pale Ale, That is another MoreBeer all grain kit that I am very pleased with! It uses Magnum hops for bittering and Sabro (aka. Ron Mexico) hops for everything else including dry hopping. I had never used Sabro hops before. To my palette, they yield a very unique and tasty beer! How are you liking the bottom kettle drain kettle with legs versus a regular kettle? Thanks for the great videos Mike and all the effort you put into them! And of course thank you Drew for being the designated taster, lol And thanks for getting back to more traditional home brewing videos. For some reason I just can't get into the simple just add water and wait IGulu type systems. I can see how they would appeal to some folks, but that's not my jam! Seems too much like making Kool-Aid. I would rather just go buy a six pack from a good brewery if I can't play with all the variables that you can with all grain or even traditional extract home brewing.

      Honestly if you are brewing on a flat top metal or at least a table that can tolerate high temps, the flat bottom is a great choice for stability and a bit less to clean. If you are brewing on the ground or on a table that might not tolerate the heat, the bottom drain would be a better choice. Also if you like to whirlpool a lot with a stupid amount of hops, the bottom drain could be a big advantage. I feel they are both great systems and if I purchased it, I would have gone for the flat bottom as I brew on a large SS table, and rarely whirlpool with too many hops to worry about. Love the pump's grinding ability on the hop matter as you hear it when the hops hit the first time and after that you are good. That Ron Mexico Pale Ale sounds really nice. The iGulu is comparable to a giant time saver from fermenting in a 1 gallon jug and then bottling. Just a major convenience with the temp control and serving without having to transfer to bottles. I really wish someone would come out with a 5 gallon version, then I'd move all my beers to that for fermentation and serving. It would save me from the keg transfer and one extra thing to clean.
