How I Got My Locs! (Crochet Hook Method)(FAQs)
Переглядів 6 тис.6 років тому
This is a tutorial of sorts for how to make crochet hook locs, not to be confused with interlocking techniques. You can find these hooks in most places where they sell knitting and craft supplies or you can easily order one online. For hook sizes you should use a hook sized between 1.0 mm to 1.4 or 1.6 at the maximum. The smaller hook will create a tighter loc but can damage hair if used incorr...

Bro, you shit fresh!
I'm 6 months in my natty journey and it's annoying how alot peaple even my friends say that I look homeless ans I need to wash my hair
This was my mistake. Currently experiencing extreme thinning of my locs 😢 I am 1 year locd but am going to have to cut and start over 😢😢
So Sir please, I am also feeforming and I wash my scalp with sulfate free shampoo once a week, but I rinse my hair in circular motion every morning and then dry it. Am I doing that correctly? My hair is 4A (That's probably irrelevant)
EEOC complaint as a last resort and request a staff education session on workplace discrimination. If in a state with the CROWN Act, ask HR to push info within the organization. Bottom line…we can advocate for locs. And if people really wanna act boo boo the fool, document and file a complaint with HR. If the organization wanna get froggy and not support you, file the complaint with the EEOC. However, a request for a training session is the least egregious route and the first step outside of verbally stating to an offender that their behavior is unwanted. I say this all the time that if my professionalism is predicated on my hair or your opinion of it and not my conduct, one of us is deficiently misinformed about the prospect of a non-discriminatory and non-hostile working environment. I’ll let you decide who’s who in the zoo…
If a person does not know how it works or a person that can without breaking locs…just say that. The crochet method has been a saving grace. I had to combine…went from 104 to 52 and none of what was said occurred. And today, can’t nobody tell me nathan about the difference after the combination. A key point is finding someone who has taken the time to learn the method correctly. Its a process that works on 99% of all hair types. Look up Kris McDred on the Gram. He got classes you can purchase to learn and my Brother is always dropping knowledge or linking the masses with loc healers. Find you one and be careful about the info you receive online. May Peace and Love forever find you! 🔥❤️🕊️
I like your Locs Bro
All im using is water now
none of these methods are freeform. freeform Is in the name YOU DONT USE PRODUCTS IN YOUR HAIR. ONLY WASH THATS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO. you are u educated
Thanks. With respect,I thought you were also going to give us some alternatives.
I wish there was another method. I hate this shit. Takes up way too much time just to do one and the shits eventually fall right back out after all this work. And don't let me get on the dam needle poking your fingers and shit! I hate it!
You should have gone to my loctician never use wax only gel
Well your Locs look great ❤ have a blessed day
I'm currently going through these 4 reasons now. I'm currently thinking about combing mine out and starting over. Spot on video
I’m lazy & tender headed too; why I’m here
So what would you recommend for someone with bad frizzy hair?
Finally... Whatever hair u got fam I got the exact same.. Ur shit look icy how it is in this video
Facts!!!!
All the methods u suggest are outside of what freeform really is. Mfs are fucking up the culture fo sho
Locs are not Black.
damn this became my favorite channel just to realize u dont post and this was 2 years ago
I didn't use any shampoo for 3 months now only water and swimming in the ocean and my hair just started locking by itself. Plus I don't have irritated skin at all. Honestly I think all of these products are just marketing to get you attached to the industry and pay money. Using these products the body gets distracted doing what it would naturally do which is cleaning itself. 🙏🏼
GREAT VIDEO, I DO AGREE, YOU WILL TWIST YOUR HAIR RIGHT OUT OF ITS ROOTS, IF DONE TOO OFTEN AND TOO TIGHT. GREAT GREAT TIPS!! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT INFO:)
My locs look exactly like yours just a lil thicker and im loving it but where im from people are not used to it and they look at me weird im still being patient as u say
I can relate. My first set that I had in 2003 webbed together and it looked like a helmet on my head. My own fault because they were in the in-between stages and I didn't keep them separated. I tried again the next year and I've had this set of locs ever since.
Question? Can your hair type be a factor because my hair type isn't really that thick and I have yet you run into this problem with my current set of locs and dreads in the past. I rarely use products and I feel like that's part of the reason why I don't have build up
✊🏽
I love this video I was blessed to hear this guy drop these jewels and I have picked them up because I was just minutes away from getting mine done exactly with a crochet needle I didn't think none of these things these facts that he was saying but I see the light now thank you brother
Jermaine Cole.
Weird thing....You have pretty hands lol. Great info though. I won't be doing this method. Was going to start because my hair unravels so easily after a very short period.
See I likes this man right here, this brotha gets it.
So I accidentally slept with wet locs recently and then I saw a video about dread rot and now I'm slightly freaking out lol
I’ve only crochet my locs once through my journey
I don’t know what to do about the flakes. I. Now washing with a clarifying shampoo that’s helping a bit BUT I have to wash my hair every Saturday period.
On the note of the crazy washing routine, for some strange reason everybody has itchy scalps. I don’t have itchy scalps but I have flaky scalp. My hair doesn’t itch at all and it so weird. I wash my hair every single week. I’m 7 months in.
how did you get your locs so thick? Is there a certain way you did your sections?
Nowadays people understand so much better many things: people with different religion, different skin color, different sexuality or even different gender than the 2 we`re used to but it`s really fucked that they still don`t understand people with different hairstyle? Like seriously, it`s 2000s and this shit still happens. I know this video was 2 years ago but the discrimination still happens in 2021 EDIT: Also, I respect that when people don`t cut their hair even if their job, relationship etc. was in danger to end because of that, because even though these things are usually more important than a hairstyle, dreads often aren`t just a hairstyle. This reminds me of a thing I`ve often been thinking, if I found the girl of my dreams and she told me I have to cut my locs or she`s leaving me, what would I say? After thinking a bit I decided, if this ever happens I will say no. My locs are a symbol of my personality. A sign of being different. I`m not the popular or cool dude, I never was, I`m the creep. If she could`t love me as who I am, then she should leave, that wasn`t gonna work anyway.
Big Facts! Thank you bro, I really needed this video in my life rn.... That was hella uplifting and real af✊🏽💙💚
FREEFORM= Cost no money, only time/patience. No products, no tools, no worries and no care(except washing)...#longHairDontCare Erry'ones journey is different and unique in their own way... To all who read this I hope your journey is long and full of love and joy! Much Love and respect to you all💙💚 Hang in there and stay strong ✊🏽
You have a solid spirit my brother... blessings and more power on your journey
Rubber bands help but be careful with them
It’s locs not dreads !!
Yo hair fire tho 🔥 🔥 🔥
I crochet ❤❤👌🏽
I’m late to this video and brotha I can relate to your story. Especially about black people giving in to the white supremacy going against each other. Im hurt that our hair is even a topic at WORK
I think ppl just like to nick pick over petty shit they know they don’t have power over
Good info, thanks
Why are your dreads so big? Did u combine two dreads together ? Dreads are usually thin …
Studies have shown that there is more bacteria in dreadlocks than the toilet seat
Think about a plant when I say seed the earth which represents your mother is only the dirt to plant the seed. So therefore through logic u are of your fathers seed. Which seeds bloom into plants my g!
