My gen 1 R1s: Wipers work as designed - no issues // phone as a key works flawlessly // not sure about the brake issues - never use my brakes // Best car i have ever owned - 1 year and 13,000 miles -
As an owner of a GT86, I am proud
Love how people complain about something they didn't do their reach on 😅😅 all of those Buttons. You say don't anything, do something I drive the car for uber evey day. The lines control the following distance when your in Cruise control mode. 😅😅
The base model no option car does not have adaptive cruise control.
I seen a few reviews but no one has talked about safety features. What are the safety reviews?
Thanks for asking! I got you! Check back this week and I’ll do a full rundown.
Horrible prelude now can’t even hang with a civic what a disgrace
Premium sound is almost a fraud. They should refund all owners who paid for that
It has GREATLY improved since I originally bought it. If it hadn’t I would tend to agree
All the door handles feels like cheap plastic junk when you pull it. It doesn't fit a $100k car
Ya this is a great call. A downgrade from Gen one where they had such a good feel.
Diver and front passenger has only 2 USBC ports, no 12v. The second row has 4 usbc plus a 110v. Their interior designer must be braindead or never sat in the front row
Another great callout. While this does not bother me, I can see how it’s a problem for some. Thanks for chiming in!
type r tho
It is possible to do this swop on an XV10 Camry?
Curious how your experience with the service center and body shops and snow are since you're in Newton... The Stoughton SC won't be online for a while so you'd have to use the Chelsea one which I hear is pretty overloaded...
I can create a dedicated video talking about my experience with the service centers! Check back this week! Thanks for the comment
I just purchased a 2024 Taco and i agree on the rear seat space. Most of my friends comment how cramped it is. The other thing i dont like is the tilt steering wheel. It do doesn't go up far enough and the top of my legs always rub against the bottom of the steering wheel. Other than that, i really like it.
Would love your take on the charging experience compared to Tesla, or the ability to also use the Tesla network. Thx!
Love this! Will record and upload as soon as I can. Thanks for the question.
Rt. 128, baby! Hope to be joining you in an R1S soon on that same drive!
Woot woot! Any other questions let me know! Referral rewards go down at the start of the year from 750 > 500 so a great time to buy if you can swing it! 🤭
I’m just watching all your videos. You have me convinced! I’m getting a TRD Off road with a manual! I think I’ll wait till late 2025 or early 2026 just to make sure they have all the kinks worked out with it being a new model
Good review of the Gen 2. Surprised to hear about your PAAK issues - I have a Gen 1 without the UWB support that yours has, and only use my phone as the key. It's been flawless, and I never have to take the phone out of my pocket or use the app.
Great review! Very informative and entertaining. You are an excellent narrator.
Thanks for watching! Looking forward to making more!
@MoneyShift good stuff. I'm curious of the miles per Kw. Can I ask you to charge up to 80 to 90% and drive as you do for a day or 3 and below 25% or less. Then top back up to original starting SOC and calculate miles driven from Kw added. That will tell me the efficiency. My 2022 X gets a consistent 2.7 miles but the trip logs shows 3.1 miles which is only power to wheels
Have you noticed any rattles while driving? I’ve had some on my Rivian Gen 1.
Yes. Slight noise comes intermittently from the drivers side dash
Can you tell me if the super-small magnet door speakers are the same on all trim levels of Maverick? I'm starting to think the B&O system only adds an unnecessary center channel speaker and an inaudible 6x9" "subwoofer" behind the rear seats. My door speakers rattle on bass heavy tracks, and seem to put out far more bass than the "subwoofer".
Interesting point about the brake pedal. I've not noticed that on my 2025, mainly because regen typically brings the car to a full stop if I time/feather it right. But if I need to quickly hit the brake, I would expect the pedal to be in the "ready/idle" position consistently, so I could see that being partially-depressed may cause some people to feel like they can't rely on muscle memory as well in operating the brakes.
Love my Y, but interested……..
I have had a Y, and here is my take on the comparison. The Model Y doesnt actually have much more room than a Model 3. While it is taller than 3, you cant really fit much more unless you stand things up which can get awkward. In comparison to the R1S, the 3rd row seating in the Y is also miniscule. That said, it is also a lot cheaper, so it has that going for it. The Model Y will drive more sporty, with a more aggressive throttle, and slightly better steering, but the R1S will be cushier, and a lot more comfortable. Ultimately the decision is yours, both are good vehicles, but my preference lies with the R1S! Should you feel compelled to buy, my referral code gives you a $750 gift card to use on accessories and free charging at RAN for a long time!
@ thanks for the info. The price is the drawback !
It doesn't look anything like the Preludes we all love. Disappointed and as a real Honda fan, that really hurts... The Prelude is done dirty here...
Other good looking SUVs for <$100K: Volvo XC90 New Land Cruiser
Agreed those look great, but the R1S just edges them out for me.
@@MoneyShift Same, plus when you experience the benefits of charging at home and the elegant simplicity of driving an EV, the Rivian becomes much more appealing.
Been owning one since last week, and already got the .47 update. I wholeheartedly agree with the things you like about it. I am replacing a 4runner limited which I loved so much. This thing is in another league and so incredibly well put together. For me wipers are fine and auto lock/unlock has worked flawlessly. Agree on the load floor. Had to put a bit of extra effort yesterday loading a 120 lb box where I had to lift it over the folded 3rd row lip. Still, the amount of space you get is incredible - even when the 3rd row is up. Kids love this vehicle! Premium audio is good, specially in the mids and highs, the lower end needs a bit more tuning. Hope they keep improving it. The door thud when closing feels a bit less premium compared to the 4runner for me, but minor detail. Looking forward to some great adventures with this!
Gives me pep in my step too!!! 😂 Very well put.
I liked going on a drive with you. Thanks. However I’ve been on the fence about buying. I prefer the R1S to the R1T and I’ve driven both on test drives. But the designers and marketing/pricing people at Rivian have complicated my decision through evil pricing stratification. Let me explain. The base model with the max battery appeals to me, but as you said it isn’t cheap out of the chute. But here’s where I derail. I want the premium sound system. I want the opaque roof on/off. I think the blackout look is awesome. I like white paint. I like the black wheels. But then I’m close to the Tri model. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh. Did you lease or buy? I may lease and then buy out later to try to get the EV credit (if it’s still around!). Advice?
What watch is on that wrist?
Great update! Thanks
You got it! Any other questions let me know. More videos to come!
My Bluetooth is my issue. People can't hear me but I can hear them. Then if I switch to speaker phone my music doesn't come on.
WEIRD!
So you knew all this and still made the purchase?
Ya, it has a manual.
Dont get upset over rumors
Ehhh I was right.
It's a 149 HP engine.
You’re not wrong!
@ I think the Sentra is the sharpest looking car in its segment, but I went with the Jetta for a little more leg room in the back (I have kids) and a bit more hp and torque.
Prelude was never a hard core sports car because fwd. It's going to appeal to empty nesters who probably had a prelude when they were younger and want to relive their past. Priorities aren't over all speed but comfort and food mpg.
As someone cross shopping a 3rd Gen and this, in basically the same main specs - OR, MT & color. Keep it! It will def help with my decision in a yr or so.
Thanks for the advice, maybe we will see you in the comments when you make your decision!
Did they do away with the seatback protectors on the 24s?
Keep that manual Tacoma!! I am very interested in how it holds up. How has the rev hang been? Do you know if it is worse than the 3rd gen Tacoma?
Shift paddles are Magnesium alloy.
Had a weird issue with my R1T early on fixed it now 40k plus miles over 2.5 years running strong. Will be dropping a long term review soon
Glad to hear you got yours sorted out. I'll be curious to see how your long term review goes!
It’s safest in the middle seat!
Oh wow my 2014 rav 4 has more space
Lexus cars are about details. Everything is dialed in for comfort and ease of use. The turn signals the carpet it’s all very upscale and durable. The silence of the interior, the buttery smooth suspension. Which as you drive the car a lot becomes very endearing. My next car will be a Lexus.
You get it!
"Shut your mouth" HA! Love it.
Thanks for watching!
I wonder how long it'll take before the clutch squeaks😂
The world may never know!
6th thing you'll hate about that 24' Tacoma... Never getting your money back out of it like the good ones do
Great callout, upon trading it in I lost 7,000 on it. Brutal.
Trying to decide between a 2022 N and a 2022 N line w AWD. I work in healthcare so getting to work is a requirement. I also live in MA. We don’t get as much snow as we used to but I’m afraid of only having FWD. also it’s a pain to have to change the tires per season since it doesn’t have AWD. Thoughts?
It is ultimately your call, but here is my take. The N Line AWD, and Kona N, while sharing a letter, are very different. The N is hardcore. In stock form it is bumpy, loud, aggressive, and a ton of fun. The N line is softcore, LOOKS the part, but is a little sluggish by comparison (especially after driving a N back to back). Given the option, if I had to do it again I would still choose N. Give your situation I would do 1 of 2 things. 1. Buy the Kona N, and get a dedicated set of snow tires. These snow tires would only be used in the winter, would already be balanced, and have TPMS so it would be an easy swap every year. Not to tedious. Ensures with some caution, barring FEET of snow being on the ground, that you would still get to work, and you preserve the life of both sets of tires by reducing the amountof mileage needed on them 2. Buy something AWD that is just as fun as the N. In this corner, if you still want ultimate safety and being able to crush any weather you still really need snow tires, but a WRX in manual, or a Golf R in automatic, are great machines. With snow tires can chew through the white stuff no problem, and have a good time while doing it. In the Golf R's case it can be a little more expensive than the Kona N, and the WRX really is only worth getting in manual so if auto is a must I would shy away. Good luck with your choice!
Meh … every Rivian is a Lemon 🍋 Yikes Gen 2s have even more issues.
We will see! 1,500 miles down so far.
why are the dashboard and display constantly flashing?
Likely due to the camera!
Porky the pig
Why do you need entire storage when you legit have a six foot bed? entire bed I mean sheesh just put a foot locker back there
Because contrary to popular belief there are things you would want to store inside the vehicle.
@ for me personally I like to use the back seats 🥴
I need a torque! My mazda 6 is very loud sorry.. I dont like this noise at the interier... I would like to choice a less noise car... Like as a vw tiguan the new!
I own one as well. While I love the car, here are my top must fixes: 1) memory seat seats 2) passenger power seat 3) provide the option for Ricardo racing seats 4) provide an interior colour choice don’t force it on us 5) rear windshield wiper. If you live in Canada or anywhere snowy you’ll understand. 6) home link in the rearview mirror. At least give me that option to purchase it. 7) the main menu being only in black-and-white is ridiculous 8) first gear is too short. Makes the launches feel slow.
