What does Soundgarden, The Beatles and AC/DC have in common? Filtertron Pickups, HIDDEN GEMS of Rock
This is a really good amp, I agree that the reverb sounds meh, but nice to have.. a pedal in the FX loop is better. The emulated outputs are really good to enhance the sound of the main cab, however I don't suggest recording with them, they sound awful on their own. You would need to really eq them in a mix to make them sound better, but on their own they're very bright and thin, including option 3 which is supposed to be a Dynamic + Ribbon. I also found the emulated output seems to lack some gain as perceived via amp in the room. If you're going to record the amp, use a mic
dude.... you have the most accurate EVH feel i have ever heard. Amazing stuff..
thanks brother! god bless you
Dose it come in lefty ?
great
Careful, closer is louder but can rob sustain with the close magnetic field dampening the unassisted ringing of the string.
Thank you for a great demo question who makes the best replacement bridge for this Guitar I want to change out the hardware and I am going to polish the one. I just ordered up to a semi gloss. Finish to take the rough coarseness away from the finish that comes on the instrument I am trying to use this in place of a custom shop instrument that I traded my satin ES 335 Gibson model Guitar in on, however since I spent a fortune on the guitar now I stupidly feel that owning this would be an advantage to taking it out to local gigs and damaging the high-end Guitar, but I wanted to know what Zinc tail bridge because I want to darken and thicken the tone a little bit and I do think the zinc tailpiece makes a difference on the hard tail did not know if I could get a zinc, nickel plated bridge that would fit over the posts on this bridge. Just not familiar with the bridge interchange But I like to put the best of the best on everything so please recommend the most expensive or the best at whatever price lol I know that sounds ignorant, but truly you get what you pay for in the Guitar world even when you overpay you’re still getting more than you would if you underpaid I have found it is better to invest upfront. I am going to have mine Plex the fret work sorry I am blind and dictating so if it’s misspelling, I figured I would just have the neck redone while it was at Sweetwater lol no sense in getting home that Guitar and needing to file it. Look forward to your response on bridge and tuner upgrades. 0:36
They kinda should make the standard body a little thicker to accommodate to the chunky neck, but apparently it’s the same thickness as the standard 61
In have a second-hand standard whose original owner swapped the pickups for the 61 burstbuckers and vintage electronics and it’s a great to have the feel of the chunkier arm paired with the vintage sound. SGs are instruments you can comfortably play for ours and offer a surprisingly versatile array of tones.
Coolest amp out. Make no mistake, it's loud. Cleans are sparkly, dirt is dynamic. Have a champ and that's great but this is next level fun.
According to a Fender rep, this amp is modeled after the current production ‘59 Bassman LTD; not a vintage specimen. Their reasoning was consistency. Too many variations with vintage amps. Current production is easier to model and have consistency with its tube counterpart.
He missed No.4, take lots of narcotics!
You can’t go wrong with either model, and I don’t only mean these two you reviewed. The Special and some others are all fantastic as well 🤙 This model has it all imo, it’s light in weight, access to the upper frets is awesome and they sound phenomenal. The neck dive ‘issue’ I see so many people complain about is really irrelevant to me because when I’m playing my hand is obviously holding the neck anyhow, unless you’re singing too and you let go of the neck I’ve never considered this to be a problem.
Pickups, uncompressed as possible. Hard to find now as that has been designed out. Pick Dynamics are important, but, if you dont have strong fingers....
"based after"?
Great tone!!! I have 50w tremolo blues breaker. I am trying to push it to get the EVH tone. any advice?
You can get in a nice condition 2nd hand 2009/2010 made in USA strat for less than the new player 2
IMO all the Vemurams sounds a bit thin and the guitars are at the edge of feedback. Maybe It's only me who Don't like a typical American sound. I want more mids, a more woody tone that sings. I can' t find that in these overpriced pedals. But very good playing guys. Greetings from Sweden.
Which magnets alnico are those PAFs?
Cool I have a green Epiphone dc pro double cut and 3 les pauls two Epiphone ones working on getting a 3rd lol I can't believe Ace made it a dc
"if you're afraid of taking your old vintage fender amps on the road", just by a Two Rock for $5,000! 😂 or, buy a few vintage fenders and stop worrying so much
Ok that reverb soaked playing starting at 9:00 is my jam, excellent stuff there.
64 looks better and sounds better!
i got a MORRIS MD-507. It sings well. no need for MARTIN
I Just set my Telecaster’s neck pickup super low for jazzy, lower volume quiet stuff and the bridge pickup quite high for volume, gain and breakup. My biggest surprise was the mid position that revealed a 3rd position keeping the crunch of bridge and smoothness neck. I’ve found tone nirvana.
Please gift me a Martin D45. Thanks in advance.
Damn near identical to the record. Amazing.
Brilliant !!!! Which one is which ¿? You're Marketing Department needs adjustments!!!
Thank you for this, i found only like 5 vids about these pickups but this one was the best. I think I'll be going with these hehe
great player!! that strat is ridiculous!!!!
Is it a great value? At 1K+ perhaps not. There are other better made semi hollow guitars in that range that surpass epiphone quality. Is it the best look alike to a Gibson without spending 9K on the Murphy lab? Yes it’s close enough. Deal breaker for me is the wieght. The epiphone is about 9.5lbs+ while the murky lab I played was 7lbs. That alone I would prefer the Gibson
Your playing made me laugh like a madman.. excellent, ty
Wow. Great playing. You sound very close to the man.
I remember the old days (back in 2015) when the Les Paul Studio Faded (pretty much the same finish as this one) was 800 $... No wonder Gibson is going nowhere.
The neck on these Ultras are so good. I sold my 2023 Ultra regrettably because I wasn’t a fan of the pickups but these new ones sounds better. Not sure how much different there is physically but one could get the Ultra I and swap out the pickups. The problem with the Ultras is they are way overpriced. The Ultra 1 sold for $2,499 and used you’d find them at $1,400-$1,600 all day long, practically new.
No. Get out. Additionally. No.
I love my 1947 d45 I play it everyday trust me.
Love to hear you play! You are a beast!
That is one great guitar
Good luck with it.
Nice demo!
The overdrive sound is amazing.. On a ather video you play through a Traditional Clean Two Rock with a Shanks OD, and you get almost the same great dumble OD sound, would you say the Shanks is the best TS1 in a box or is there an OD pedal even better according to you ? Thank you for your help 😊
Thank you! The shanks is a great pedal I'd definitely recommend it.
@waltgracevintage8620 thank you ! How would you compare it to the Jan Ray ?
🤓Erm it was actually 1958 when they changed 2 tone sunburst to the 3 tone sunburst
🤓Erm it was actually 1958 when they changed 2 tone sunburst to the 3 tone sunburst
I wonder if it’s better for flatpicking than D28. How do they compare?
Just got a AM PRO II but really love Ultra ii neck.
Doesn't sound that good to me tbh. Like a more flattened version of a taylor. Good highs but it lacks depth.
NOT new its been done before by Epi the openbook headstock in the 80s in Japan , I was waiting for this since the 80s , those 80s Japan epis are expensive nowadays , so once I saw this I had to get it , and I am very happy , I will be changing the brige pickup ring for a taller one and also the tuners for the Grover tupil slyle which I like much more , and maybe the knobs too , other than that its prefect . its about time woked up once again , hats off. Alfred NYC/ PR
Hi, I also am pretty excited about this instrument. I have a B.B. King signature Lucille that I traded my satin Gibson ES 335 and on and of course spent a fortune for the Argentine burst way more than I should have ever paid for any Guitar, but I really had been dreaming of having one since I started playing. B.B. King was some of the first licks on the guitar. I learned as a 13-year-old long haired hippie already as a kid I wanted to start with who I thought the blues master was and I did and now I am back to enjoying that music more than ever as well as much more at 50 years old and now a guitar teacher and many years of experience I only want to preserve my Guitar so purchasing this to do so in order to get the higher quality Sound and I am loving the Ebony fretboard definitely want to change the tuners like you said however I am curious what is the best bridge to use when changing it up? I do want to put an American bridge on this and wondered if you had any suggestions or what bridge you might be switching to yourself I also thought I would use a zinc bridge or had considered that thanks love to hear your opinions. Sounds like you are also a very experienced guitarist. The Japanese guitars are phenomenal note. Also one more question how good was the fret work on the neck of the guitar? Was it pretty level or did you have to do a lot of file work thanks 0:36 .
Tonex One....
Benchmark Model sounds nice.
