I’ve never understood why people who don’t care for a product being reviewed take the time to type out a derogatory comment. Psychological tendencies, as such, denote a person who is suffering from low self esteem and low self confidence. Personally, the level of accoutrements found on the guitars that are produced at the Ensenada are exactly what I prefer. Just what I need, and nothing I don’t. Thanks Fender!
Is it me, or doe the pickups lack something? It has that nice strat sound, but something is missing. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe just on this specific video?
Agree, I'd definitely change the pups on it. It's a shame Fender discontinued the Vintera 50s modified pickups, because they sound so SWEET, with a little bit more heat to 'em.
You have to take into account the room this was recorded in, the amp, the mics, how the sound was mixed, youtube compression etc. It all makes a difference.
They’ve just crushed their competition with the release of this model. Lotta strat for the money. Put your favourite pickups in it you got something can take you from bedroom to arena ( at least in your mind!).
The pickups in the Player II strats are the same as in the original Player series. They only changed pickups in the offset guitars (Mustand, Jazzmaster, Jaguar etc). I'm perfectly ok with that as I own a 2020 Fender Player plus top aged cherry HSS strat. I might buy one of the new Player II necks though when they become available.
@@BkBk-gy6vr I've watched 2 Fender reps in the last couple of days claim they are. As I stated the ones that have been changed are the offset guitars...
@@BkBk-gy6vr I just called Fender customer support and asked them if the pickups in the Player II series strats are the same as in the original Player series strats and he confirmed they are. He even put me on hold to check the product spec sheet.
@retiredguyadventures6211 You're both mistaken. I have the new Player ii Telecaster and had the player, and these Pups are definitely different and better than the original.
The better up grade is the player plus . Fender locking tuners , block saddle trem , rolled edges on neck , push pull tone control for coil split , and a 12 inch radius neck plus noiseless pickups .
Noiseless pickups yuk. I considered it, but it’s a dealbreaker for me. All new guitars benefit from and should have a set up after purchase, as standard, at the cost of the buyer. I’ve got a Player ii on order and will get my luthier to swap out to a bone nut, locking tuners and setup for about the same price as a plus that are more overpriced. than the other fender models (which they all are, of course. What is in a name? About an extra 30%.
That's not coming to Mexican down from American line-up, that's what separates them, fender considers it a luxury lol, well at least until they add a new feature in flagships, SS frets could be that.
I am not convinced. Sire Larry Carlton S7: roasted maple, rounded edges, bone nut, locking tuners. More reliable quality control. Hundreds less on the price tag. What is in a name? Just that..only a name.
If the bar was really raised, they'd be putting rounded heel on it like every other guitar company at this point. Get with the times fender. You have every chance to do that on your new model they didn't you're falling behind.
Waste of money. Can get a much better bang for your buck with other brands. No bone nut is pathetic from Fender. How can a fender squier classic vibe come with a bone nut but a mexican fender twice the price dose not???
@@keolacam it's crazy from Fender as a bone nut costs about £8 and the nut can make or break the guitar. My pal works in a music shop, Ness Music. They check all the guitars they get in and set them up and fix any problems. He says he hates it when they get a batch of Fenders in as they always have the most problems, constantly having to work on the nuts and frets. He said Fenders are the worst guitars for QC. He says PRS are the best brand for QC.
With you there. I'm not so fussy if it's a bone nut, but at least go TUSQ if you're going to not put bone on it. I've had three acoustics with Tusq everything out of the box and they're wonderful.
At this price companies don't offer bone nut... If you really liked the guitar why not buy the bone nut separately and take it to a luthier to be perfect? I don't get it. No guitar gonna be perfect "out of the box". It's not a digital instrument.
The fretbuzz is actually insane. Sounds like shit, this guitar. And to say the rolled edges are an improvement is a f”&$ing joke. A 300$ Ibanez comes with rolled edges, and I bet that it has better playability than this fender…. Great guitar playing tho 👌🏼

Exactly. I own one of these, a mexican-made Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod, and an Indonesian-made Jackson DK2M. All fantastic guitars.

You can get in a nice condition 2nd hand 2009/2010 made in USA strat for less than the new player 2
Love me a modern Cin-Thee profile
imo bringing rosewood BACK from before and minor changes then upping the price does not "raise the bar"
The price stayed the same
The price is the same bro tf are you talking about 💀
the price is the same

Awesome video, I play lots of alternative grunge rock looking to grab one hopefully soon😊😊❤❤❤❤
Love it
Very nice review. I'm just curious how it stands compare to vintera 2
What is the lick in the beginning of the vid pls
i love how people take the time to crack on one brand or another like their $399 Ibanez is the guitar players dream.
The better up grade is the player plus . Fender locking tuners , block saddle trem , rolled edges on neck , push pull tone control for coil split , and a 12 inch radius neck plus noiseless pickups .
They need to make a Player Plus II now with better hot rod colors hopefully. Maybe add the option of an ebony fretboard?
Not huge on the noiseless pickups, but everything else on that list is definitely awesome ;)

No rounded neck heel, and I hate the vintage-style tuners. The rosewood board is nice but otherwise these don’t move the needle for me
You want a professional ii then and will have to pay another £800

If it wasnt for the aged plastics and the vintage tuners...
I stopped buying Fender products 20 yrs ago when I realized I could build a better guitar for $500 than I could buy for $2000 from Fender.
BS. Not saying 2000 bucks on a Fender are justified but there simply there isn’t a $500 guitar that can compare.
