Not what I expected! HVAR, CROATIA Full Day of Eating Croatian Food 🇭🇷
Hvar may be known today for it's stunning beauty and luxury but today I'm here for the food! We jumped on a ferry from Split, our homebase for 7 weeks, to Hvar. The stunning island in the Aegean is just under 2 hours from split. When we arrived we were greeted by a festival put on by the Hvar Tourism Board, and we got to try polenta and cuttlefish stew. After a quick hike up to the Fortica Fortress for jaw dropping views, we headed to one of the iconic restaurants in Hvar town, Dalmatino. What an experience this restaurant was. The service was top notch, and the tuna tartare was as fresh as you can get. They greeted us with complimentary carob seeds and carob brandy, along with an amuse bouche of polenta infused with rosemary, mushrooms, and parmigiano. The white truffle gnocchi showcased the incredibly decadent local truffles this island has to offer, in a creamy white wine sauce. And the Brodetto stew with traditional hand rolled makaruli pasta and sea bass was absolutely incredible. The makaruli pasta has a wonderful texture and really absorbs the rich tomato based sauce.
We originally planned for a day trip in Hvar but Andres surprised me with a hotel for the night! Unfortunately we didn't have any clothes with us and we decided, especially considering the rainy weather coming through, that we would return to Split as originally planned. I cannot wait to return to Hvar to explore more of this breathtaking island for longer!

1:09 CUTTLEFISH BRODET - Cuttlefish Stew with Broad Beans and Polenta. A traditional dish of Dalmatian cuisine. Delicately flavored with tomato, white wine, and herbs found throughout Dalmatia. Many variations exist, the one we had on this day was infused with cuttlefish ink.

120 hours in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 PUERTO RICAN FOOD Tour!
Переглядів 2,5 тис.9 годин тому
Join me for a 5 day food tour through Puerto Rico, the birthplace of my mother. On this journey, I'm seeking to connect to my roots a bit more as I taste my way through the island of enchantment. Come with me for lechon on the pork highway in the mountains, to bacalaito fritters on the coast in Piñones, and so much more in between. Sit back, pop open an ice cold Medalla, and enjoy the ride. Wep...

I spent one month in Bologna, Italy. During my time there I learned so much about Northern Italian cuisine and immediately fell in love. One day while I was walking through the Quadrilatero I encountered a Bologna Food Expo and decided to check it out. They had a multitude of vendors in a historic grand ballroom serving food samples to visitors. One of the vendors was from the Bologna Associati...
The ATL BAKERY that stole my heart. What I ate in 1 week at Colette's Bread and Bakeshop.
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Місяць тому
Door is propped open, the distant ring of an oven timer going off, the hum of a speaker playing tunes. Walking into this bakeshop instantly feels like you've stepped into the kitchen of a bakery. Lucky are the those who get a behind the scenes glimpse of the production of a bakeshop, but here the transparency is front and center. And just before you have the chance to think you've entered throu...
GREEK GYROS - I try ATL's Legendary Gyro spot.

I've been craving a Gyro and boy did Nick's come through. This family run Greek gyro and sandwich shop has been serving locals for 30 years in the Grant Park neighborhood, just outside Downtown Atlanta. Surrounded by shiny new multi-use buildings, Nick's radiates character as one of the last symbols of the old neighborhood that has seen drastic change over the years. Nick's To Go has become the...
I try "Comfort THAI" in ATL.

Today I'm heading Downtown for some home-style "comfort food" in this family-owned Thai restaurant. The pad see ew was ordered "Thai hot" and they definitely delivered the heat! I've got to say the service was exceptional, too. I'll be back, soon that's for sure. Note: they have another location at Chattahoochee Food Works. TYDE TATE KITCHEN - SOUTH DOWNTOWN g.co/kgs/96Ldarr
What happens when ATL's premier butcher/baker makes a CHEESEBURGER?
Переглядів 8632 місяці тому
Today I'm in the Kirkwood neighborhood in east Atlanta to check out Evergreen Butcher & Baker and pick up some sourdough loafs, pastries, and some cuts of meat for the week. This butcher is a special place, one that I'd argue is essential to any neighborhood - a quality butcher and baker. Every Sunday at 1PM, a line down the block starts to file in to pick up one of these coveted burgers that s...

M'ija...

Ajvar is not a tomato and veggies spread, it's entirely false - it's red bell pepper with some eggplant or veggies, but can be just the red bell peppers, aka paprika, red paprika.
