I am shocked he agreed to give you the $3k. We'll see if he actually PAYS UP. Meanwhile, he really is liable for damages from the stuff he said about you in his videos (allegedly, in my opinion).
Thank you for this update. Any sane person watching those segments would conclude that, regardless of its effectiveness, this was an intended effort to defame you in order to hurt your credibility and by extension your standing in academia and your professional career. This was not a one-shot thing, nor was it accidental, and the malice was more than obvious. I won't comment on the sanity of US judges, other than to say that we have evidence both for (mostly for) and against. In my opinion, the reward is being offered as hush money to try and stop what should be coming their way as an appropriate legal response. I would humbly suggest you look up how Thunderf00t dealt with VenomFangX (only if you have time to spend; this was a different legal situation - it just had the same dishonesty and malice, as well as the same level of science denial) and then consider if a similar approach would be suitable for you. In any case, please do nothing until you get legal advice. On a very related (and sadly lost in the mists of oblivion) note: RIP DPR Jones, an unsung and forgotten hero, who'd probably offer you his legal services for free if he were still alive.
I don't believe his intention was to slander you. There are continual attacks against anyone who goes outside of consensus or challenges how natural history is presented. I'm sure he was feeling like he was under attack. Maybe you guys can just make amends.

Hey, congrats on the slow progress. Let's hope he pays up.

Yep. Thx for the update, but stop talking now to preserve your options.
