Incident Nature: Structure Fire
Incident Details:
At 2:22 p.m., Derby Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Thompson Pl. Two calls were made on to 911, stating a possible car fire on the top section of the parking garage and another directly to Paugassett Hook & Ladder Co.4 reported that the elevator shaft was on fire. First Units on scene found a 3 story parking garage with fire showing from the top floor lobby and elevator/stairwell room. Crews worked to place one attack line into operation and ran it up the ladder truck to the 3rd floor. The fire was quickly placed under control within 15 minutes. Crews then transitioned into overhaul operations. There were no injuries reported. The Derby Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Whenever I see solar panels on a house on fire, my radar goes up. Amazing job by the brave and great documentation.
Glad that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, live ammunition going off can be a problem. When I was a volunteer firefighter we responded to a fire and the owner had gunpowder in his basement and some of it went off while we were fighting the fire. But no one was injured. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area

How long does it take to yank the electric meter off and crank a hose??? Oh, i forgot... it's New England. Where they pop beers and kegs while on sites of fires. Sad. Betting the wiring in the attic arced. Ct. Has lousy out of date codes and they're using old South Central Bell for phone lines. Lol

No, it was not a Tesla, but either way, the fire did not start by the car the car caught after the house.
I would never own a house not served by a local water source like a hydrant.
That's to bad that the house was a total loss, glad that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident. Having been a volunteer firefighter for a small town, I well know that water supply issues can be frustrating for the firefighters. Please try to remember your wide (horizonal) frame, please stop "talking" with your hands and keep the picture steady. Edit out the f bombs.
After a big nighttime fire like this, it would be nice to see a daylight video of what remains.
Hopefully the firefighters who were injured, nothing was serious and that they made a quick recovery. I've watched many similar old abandoned factoryties burn. When I was a kid, o one very similar to this one, burnt for 2 and a half days, they had to knock it down to get all the fire out. Electric vehicles are dangerous. They should be outlawed, not mandated. Smart meters are another fire hazard.

😮 I haven't seen a old factory fire like that since I was a kid. Growing up in a old factory city, with a lot of old abandoned ones and I grew up watching them burn. But it was one of the reasons that I became a volunteer firefighter later in life. Great video work and. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

I actually explored that place with my friend, a pretty dilapidated place in some parts. We actually ran into a squatter there, Luckly we didn't get hurt and we made it out safely.
