I'm definitely surprised at the quality of the covers for the price. I brought the journal recently on my quick trip to Philly and did some journaling in the airport - I didn't use a fountain pen yet but it SEEMS like it may be fountain pen friendly paper! I've recently accepted the fact that I will always be changing up things, so even if I only use this journal for a few weeks and move onto something else, that is life LOL I hope you are able to enjoy the upcoming holidays!!

Thank you! I enjoyed a day of not doing any work for either of my jobs, and went Christmas shopping at the outlets and got Chinese food, the ultimate day lol! I think I am going through a big shift in the stationery items that I prefer, and I think this small elastic case is practical for EDC. I'm hoping it will fit on the new journal I will be posting a video about very soon!

Thank you! I'm just glad that the colors and designs of all the products seem to be gender neutral - that is one of my biggest complaints about planner/stationery companies. I understand that the companies have to sell what the customers want to buy, I just wish certain companies would embrace more toned down designs.

I think it's my favorite thing so far lol! It feels very "analog" if that makes sense.

Good luck on your exams!! Our semester kind of ends a little earlier than usual. I'm doing my PhD so I had to write two final papers. All I have left is one shift of tutoring and grading my students' papers which isn't too difficult. I'm supposed to be getting a new desk this afternoon so I'm nervous and excited. I can't wait to see what other items are in this calendar!

There's another person on here who is in Knoxville too, we need to do a meetup someday! I had never heard of Archer until I went to Kern's the very first time. They do carry special Japanese items which is great. Usually I like to go to Kinokuniya outside Atlanta. YES - the employees know nothing! Last time the woman didn't even say any word to me when checking out (and I spent a lot). I don't think they're going to last long because of the parking issue at Kern's now. In fact, I haven't returned since, because having to give my credit card/license plate scan and try to get it validated is a hassle. They made a mistake doing that, Kern's should have just implemented a charge on game days. There's no reason to pay for parking in SoKno lol. I live right by Jerry's and went there recently - they had a decent selection but not enough for me :X

We still have autumn leaves in December which feels a bit strange! It's cold now (30F) but I actually enjoy winter! Thanks for watching!

It is definitely a nice campus but the HILLS and having to walk so far everyday are kind of exhausting. I typically get me 30 minutes exercise on my Apple watch automatically + 10,000 steps. Next semester my schedule should be a little better. Sometimes we get scheduled to be on the other end of campus in 20 minutes which is completely unrealistic!

I enjoy watching vlogs but at the same time I feel like nothing in my life is really exciting enough to vlog lol. It's usually the same thing every day. I also feel weird recording things when I'm out in public. When it's with my phone, I manage, but basically don't do it with a camera at all anymore. Sigh, I dunno why I let this stop me!

@ it’s definitely a different thing to vlog but I feel like there are so many influencer type people maybe it’s not weird to record in public 😅😅😅

@ Ahh it’s the risk of advents and mystery boxes. You just never know! I hope you can keep the box too, because at least that is a cool storage item. I don’t know the brand, so wouldn’t know what to expect either!

I remember that last year my friend had sent me a loose leaf tea advent calendar which was really cool. I'm so bad at remembering to open them every day, so I guess I will just open a few days at a time to catch up lol! It's a fun way to try things you may have not bought otherwise.

Ooo I never thought about being able to use a field notes in a passport TN! Thanks for joining me!

This year I just got some staples for my TN. Passport Binder to archive my inserts, some more connecting bands, the 2025 sticker set and the weekly insert! This year my passport is going to be a commonplace/media log. the field notes is grid- commonplacing , the weekly will be for all my media: books, movies, music etc little thoughts and a sketchbook insert to doodle or draw. I moved out of the passport in late 2023 and adopted the hobonichi weeks system and love it. I wanted to get back into it for more relaxed reflection- more personal (the weeks is my workhorse) that will be fun to look back on. The fields is a bit big but i don’t mind overhang because my passport is packed haha. Ahhh i can only imagine!! On top of wanting to use all my supplies i already have- i would like to buy my first fountain pen and ink in person to get a real feel for the look and feel in real life. I would definitely be happily overloaded inside Atlas- one day i plan on making the pilgrimage there. The staff friendliness even translates into mail orders!

I think it’s a style choice, the black pens in my other Walmart video have a similar bump without a clip

How do you like using the aqua brush? Sometimes I struggle with it because I feel like I can't control aqua brushes as much as a regular paintbrush, but I am practicing! Your palette sounds wonderful!! I am trying to get into watercolors more and will probably try a palette with more colors. The TRC x art toolkit one I have just has the primary colors, and the struggle of mixing colors makes me impatient and use them less than I probably should lol. Thank you for watching!!!

I prefer my brushes as well, but aqua brush is convenient when out and about!

I used to live in D.C. - if you do go there, even though I didn't have the best personal experience with them - Penny Post in Old Town Alexandria, VA (about a 15 minute ride from D.C.) has a wonderfully curated selection of stationery and Japanese stationery products. I just never had a nice experience with their customer service and I've talked about it in one of my videos.

For some reason I hadn't anticipated that they would have so many different brands! The ink selection was too overwhelming lol.

It was unreal!!! And I still get happy with I think about it. It was a nice reminder of what we do all this UA-cam stuff. I would LOVE to go to Stationery Fest, since it's over my spring break, BUT I am supposed to go to Philly the 27th-29th for a conference and to visit my family, so two back-to-back trips would probably be too much...I should think about it tough!

That's a good idea! I will make a video with more detail. I was really tempted to get the "Medium" size, but looking at it - it felt too big already, and I was afraid I wouldn't be willing to carry around in my bag - which is why I went with the smaller one. Thanks for watching!
