Thank you so much for your support! I really want to grow my channel more but it's definitely a challenge. I'm amazed how some other channels have grown so fast! But I want to focus on having fun too.

Pentel does NOT get enough credit in the stationery world in my opinion. A lot of their products are wonderful but they get overshadowed by Pilot, Uni, and even Zebra. That's just my opinion lol! You're right, I actually didn't think about the Hi Tec C, which I had used in the past, I only think about the Coleto. It's probably my favorite custom multi (Uni Style Fit MEISTER) being my other fav. You can't go wrong with a Signo!! Although the ones they sell for the American market, I swear are a little different than the ones I get from Japanese stationery stores. Thanks for watching!

@@stationery.shenanigans I also find the Signo is different depending on the market AND I find the RT, RT1, and Style Fit refills to be a lot less impressive than the Signo DX for some reason. But I agree with you I feel like Pentel is often overlooked. The Energel might get some attention but honestly Pentel has a lot of really nice items that you don't hear a lot about!

@@tompov227 I think all of the Signos I've bought from US retailers like Walmart or Target I ended up not using them. I prefer ones I order individually from places like Tokyo Pen Shop or JetPens. So there has to be something different for sure. And it's interesting to think that Pentel seems to be the leader in selling led for mechanical pencils in the US at least - even my grocery store sells their mechanical pencils!

ooo washi tape, that's a great idea! I really do like the feeling of this pen case, I am curious to see how it holds up when putting a lot of stuff in there (i.e. can it zipper open and close easily). I have a meeting with my supervisor today to start the first steps for my exam, it's like a 10 month process, eek! Hope you have a nice weekend!

Mindwave definitely is my favorite sticker company! I am already looking forward ot buying more highlighters, considering I have to read 200+ books and articles this summer :D A good excuse to use stationery at least? Happy Friday!

I really just needed the COleto refills, but I was looking forward to browsing their site for a few weeks now, it was a nice treat to get some new things :D Thank you for the encouragement, the comprehensive exam process is kind of crazy, I also have to write a publishable manuscript for my field as well. I have my first meeting with my supervisor today to start planning. At least I have a notebook I have been saving for the occasion!!! lol

I think most of my favorite stickers have been made by Mindwave, there's something about their choice in artwork. The only thing I technically needed were the Coleto refills but I was looking forward to just browsing their site and bought a lot more :D At least I'm supporting a small business? LOL

It's called a Pilot Hi-Tec C Coleto (3 barrel, there are numerous) filled with Blue-black ink, Brown, and Cherry Pink. One of my all time favorites!

It's definitely my favorite in-person stationery store! There's something about the type of products they carry and their aesthetic that is both interesting and cool. I will be in Philly for a conference next month so I am super excite dto sneak away and stop at Omoi haha!

Is that the one across from Bryant Park? I remember going there in February 2020 right before the pandemic hit. There was a cool group of small shops at the lower level with designer goods from Japan. I used to go to the Kinokuniya in Edgewater, NJ too! (One of my best friends was in grad school in Columbia and had moved to Edgewater, so we frequented Mitsuwa for the delicious food course!). I've also been to one in LA and now I make it a point to go to the one in Atlanta now that I live 3.5 hours of a drive from it. There's something about seeing items in stores that helps you learn if you like something or not, or gives you ideas of something you never thought about before! As you can see in this video, they did have a lot of fountain pens. The prior occasion I visited, most of their fountain pen display wasn't really finished yet as the store had just opened. YEARS ago (10+) I remember watching a new documentary-type show on NHK Japan about fountain pens and the old fashioned stores that sell them - it was so interesting! If I ever can find a link to the full episode I'll try to post it. Thanks for sharing! I'm so glad that the notebook brought you to my channel! Thanks for watching and commenting. I had NEVER seen or heard about this notebook or the brand until I found it randomly at B&N - if I recall I was on a work trip in Albany, NY. The fact that it was thicker from having extra pages than a more standard Japanese notebook was another thing that intrigued me. How are you finding it to be with your fountain pens?

It's definitely a bigger financial investment! I thought about giving a time limit to some of my items, i.e. if I don't use it regularly over the next 6 months, I should sell or trade it. I don't want to let things I'm NOT using hold me back from using things I WOULD use, if that makes sense!

I still might convince myself to try the A5 someday...after I recorded this video, I started thinking about if I could get pages that were a little bit wider, I feel like there's almost an inch between the end of the paper and the edge of the leather...mmm, food for thought!

@ You could trim your own paper and do a little test. I know people in the ring planner world try all sizes and push things to the limit. A lot of personal preference how flush to the edge people like their papers!

@@tortagialla That's a good idea, I need to try something like that.I've never been good with cutting my own paper OR working with binders, so we shall see 🤣

@@stationery.shenanigans You are right that it can be annoying to have to cut inserts and tools needed, etc. I did see something recently which I don't know what size it works with - but the penco spiral notebooks, there is a size that fits exactly in a pocket ring planner. So it made me wonder what spiral bound notebooks that have lots of holes, would actually still coincide and fit in a ring planner - random thing, but I thought it was soooo cool. I saw it on a japanese planner on instagram... so they take out spiral of the penco notebook and put all the papers in their planner!

@@tortagialla That's so interesting and I would have never thought of that lol...Japanese stationery is just 500 years ahead of the rest of the world! I sometimes do that with pen refills, try to see which ones fit in other ones...but haven't done much paper-wise yet.

Thank you!! I feel like I'm really slacking lol. I used to spend a lot more time creating videos, and held a Livestream every Friday night. Looking back, it was a different time in my life, I had moved to a city I hated (DC), didn't know anyone, the pandemic, was unsatisfied with my job...so I poured all that energy into stationery stuff. Now I have a new career and social life, so it's shifted my priorities. And that's ok! I can't believe it's already February though!

I think I was able to make more content prior to 2023 before I moved and had a whole career change...UA-cam was something that made me really happy - nowadays I just have less time to devote to it but it's still so important. YES videos long to plan out, record, edit, upload/process. I wish I could do an international giveaway, it really is crazy what the post office charges (I think It would be almost $100 to send a small package to Canada?!)
