This is probably my favorite video. I'm 59 years old and have spent far too many years 'saving' things for the right time. I'm done with it. I pulled out my 90 year old silverware, I pulled out my favorite blanket, I pulled out my pearls. And, I use them!! This is a lesson for all of us. Thank you for sharing.
I love that you are using your favorite items!!! We all need to be doing that. I started using "special" mugs and dishware too, life is too short! Thanks for watching!
The colours in your Delta pen are so pretty, I hope you can get it working. I also liked the Online pen, I love when you can see the ink inside a clear pen! I have a habit of not using my stickers, so I am trying to actually use my stickers this year. Have a great weekend! :D
I just put two stickers that I've been saving on my water bottle :D I hold on to them too! I will try to flush the nib with a little bit of cleaner this time...
Your Delta pen is gorgeous! I have had a few difficulties matching a universal converter to a pen. But my most troublesome experiences involved BENU and S.T. DuPont. Sometimes that makes proprietary pens/converters desirable. I’ve only had one Online brand pen as a bonus item in an InkJournal monthly subscription box. No real experience to share. I love inky fingers as a badge of honor! Thanks for the channel mention. Keep up the good work partner!
I thought I was keeping good track of my items by labeling them in bags but clearly I may mixed some up! It bothers me when pen companies don't imprint anything on converters or cartridges. But I guess it's fun figuring things out. Thanks for watching!
Yup, I always have this tendency to want to save and preserve the good things :) But I agree that we need to use it all darnit! I'm all for that - thanks for the reminder! And wow, the delta pen is lovely. Maybe it takes some time for ink to get through feed and nib? Or requires a good cleaning if its been awhile. I hope you can make it work. I like to play with my foutnain pens and inks, but I can also be lazy and never clean anything and let things sit for too long.
I had only cleaned this pen in water, so I will add a small amount of cleaner. I've used the method brand of general purpose cleaner, a spray of it into the water to clean other pens so maybe that's what it needs! That's my biggest issue with fountain pens, is that I am not prepared and when I want to use one, I find the cleaning to be tedious lol!
@@stationery.shenanigans Yeah, there are annoying parts.... although it gets finicky also when you leave ink in a pen unused for a long time... otherwise it's not too crazy. My first fountain pen is a Pilot Metropolitan and I used it for years without issue!
Love both of those pens. Great job just going for it when inking up your Delta. . Just visiting stationery stores in Japan sounds like a dream trip. . Yes to messy hands happy life. . Hope we can do a meet up in 2025 or 2026. .
I think normally I would have decided to not post such a video, but I think it's important to show the "non-aesthetic" side here on UA-cam! Things don't always work out but we have to keep trying! YES I want to do some sort of meet up or at least go to a pen show/stationery fest in the near future.
I think the sentiment is really important. We focus on.. collecting and amassing all these items be it pens or other things from different hobbies but they just sit and ultimately is a waste. The purpose of items is to be used and enjoyed, and in using them like you said you gain more of an appreciation. Im trying to only have 6 pens. and no more. everything else is being sold. and that way I will focus on those and enjoy them for decades. new things will come and go.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I think 6 is a good number for sure. Yes, a lot of collectors and hobbies encourage us to "hoard" things, but at some point we have to ask if that is serving us anymore. I recently cleaned my desk up and got rid of a lot of items that truly didn't spark joy, and it felt freeing!

The Delta pen is so beautiful! I am bad at refilling my pens. I really need to ink up my pens and use them again.
As you can see from this video I'm terrible at it LOL

When you cleaned off the excess ink you may have drained the feed. To prime the feed you can dip the nib in the ink.
Thank you for this suggestion! I haven't experienced this problem before - only general flushing/cleaning is what I have experience with.
What's crazy is I was gonna say I wanna start using fountain pen because of you but then you said it before me 😅
I really need to use them more (especially bring them to work) so it's a sign we all need to do that haha
Soak the clogged nib in mild soapy warm warer.
Thank you for the suggestion! That is why I'm gonna do next, fingers crossed.
What’s the brand of the fountain pen?
The blue one is Delta, the clear one is from ONLINE Germany.
