Thanx, so how is the directional audio in game? can you pinpoint footsteps, is the imaging good for gaming?

I've really come around on USB mics, and both of these mics sound better than my voice deserves. The lack of direct monitoring is definitely a drag. I own the NT1 5th Gen and the Ethos, and one big reason I almost always set up the Ethos is that I can use the Ethos without a pop filter. Meanwhile, the NT1 really needs a pop filter, and the system that Rode provides is kind of obtrusive and annoying. Either one is a great choice, and I always enjoy your videos. That Icon is so gorgeous, isn't it?

Which one sounds better really seems to change according to how you have them positioned, the earthworks didn't sound as good at the beginning but in the rapid fire it sounded better than the road but I don't know they both sound good, both a very different sound but I think room and placement really does make a pretty big difference on microphones

I think HDR is what is making the image on the OBSBOT look so bad and crunchy. In the beginning at 12:25 the image looks perfectly fine but gets worse at 13:46. When changing the image to 4K, dynamic range suddenly is back to normal at 20:53?

Yeah I’m an Earthworks fan. But they both sound and look great! No monitoring is a big letdown for me. Great video Mike. Awesome job! As always!

To me. The earthworks is very crisp and tight, more of a natural tone. The rode nt1 i feel has a bit more presence a bit more robust, but I feel a bit more sylibant and sensitive. I like both for different reasons. Hard choice. If I had to choose the earthworks.

You've got extraordinary taste in microphones my friend. I started using the RE20 back in 1976 at KEZY 1190 AM in Anaheim, CA. The station was located about 2-3 miles from Disneyland. It was, and still is, my favorite mic to this day. I currently own a RE27 N/D which is the upgraded version of the RE20 with a better dynamic range, high and low pass filters, and a presence boost. The RE27 was gifted to me, so I can't complain, it's an amazing mic, but the RE20 holds a special place in my heart **tear comes to eye** LOL. I noticed that you also own the Shure MV7 and the Fifine K669D....also excellent mics. Outstanding and funny review bro. Great job. I'm glad I was able to meet you. Peace!

Damn, the SM58 sounded PAINFUL after the SR117. And the noise rejection... I literally found myself with my mouth open when you started typing with the Earthworks mic. Just world class engineering at its' finest. Great video!

I have one of these. I absolutely love it! It's finally the solution which somebody should have been selling five years ago. It's beyond great. In fact... It's TOO good. Just watch. Nobody is going to buy this thing. Why? Because in the public mind, "Neewer = Dollar Store". Which is totally unfair. They make some of the best consumer gear in the world at the best prices. They can't be doing too badly, though. Neewer has sold out of these mics. I wonder if they'll ever make them again. (Or if OC White hit them with a patent violation..? That's possible, I guess.)

im in a pickle here the wave 3 is 200 aud and the Shure 6 is 280 and the rode XDM-100 is 450 aud but i was thinking about getting the rode nt 50 usb mini witch is the same as the wave 3 so should l pick it over it you think

hey mike, cool video man.. i think the NT1 and the SE 4100 are about the best things you can get that aren't crazy expensive.

You cannot use it with the Shure SM7B because the XLR end that goes into the mic is blocked by the metal thingy (yellow label) on the pneumatic arm

It sounds more muffled / less crispy.

Hey man,just want to say thank you! I bought this Blue Ember for $40 after watching your video and it’s absolutely fantastic. On your voice, it beats all FIFINE mics in your other videos, and is about the same as SE4100 and sounds better than Lewitt 240 and NT1 if you want radio sounds. And I am listening on Senneheiser 599, so I can tell. All this fifine ones have a high pitched grit on the high end and makes me cringe. Blue ember and SE4100, wow, so soothing!

I recently purchased a K688 Fifine microphone. I'm leaving my Blue Yeti behind. Will this improve the sound quality of my microphone for thr stream

I see that you can connect a phone or tablet… when you connect the phone or tablet, if I shoot a video, will the mic that is running through this pick up the audio from my phone? And can I use the settings on the maonocaster to control the phone audio? Thanks in advance.

Work on Rode Procaster?

The current SM7B, especially those made in China, will never be the same as those made many years ago. It's a waste of money. Not so long ago I did a comparison of SM7B. One was made 10 years ago and the other in 2022 and both sounded completely different. Of course, the older one sounded better. Probably Shure stopped caring about the quality of their products or they use lower quality components for production.

Wow, this mic is amazing, I use to watch senpai gaming before it was even called that when Harris reviewed it i remember always wanting it but XLR setup was so expensive. Now not so much. And 100% I can see Morgan freeman using this microphone in a movie like 10 years ago. Honestly one of the few mics it really doesn’t need a pop filter or windscreen imo maybe varies on the speaker but wow the last mic you tried was the only one I liked that was better but $350 vs $40 cmon….CMON that’s incredible.

I love mine. Great price too. $67 Aussie dollars - wish I'd paid that.Norrmally @ $160 here - so $100 off.

I had no clue they cut the price on the Ember. Always liked the sound of it but didn't need a condenser at the time. Arguably still don't need a condenser yet but the G.A.S. is still saying to grab it in case...
