Three cheers for your mom! Celery thinks it's sneaky, but we know when it's there lol That's interesting about the spongy chicken. It's just so noticable, but only in frozen meals. I review companies as I come across or hear about them rather than researching companies of a specific type, so I wouldn't be able to recommend another service I haven't tried yet and I can't think of other ready made services right now except Factor. Sorry, I can't be of more help!

Certainly for some. I always say that all of these services are pricey for what I personally spend, even without the discount that made these cheaper. But there are a lot of people spending that much or more on fast food or other meals that want to get away from that without having to cook, and that's where services like this one are great. @@mealbeforeme I should also mention that on my road trips do buy frozen meals with a salad kit. Most places have a microwave. Being on a budget does not allow eating in restaurants very often. Glad you are providing info on these products as so many for a variety of reasons do need to use these meals.

I can totally see that. Portion size is a huge deal, especially if we're going to pay extra for it.

Yes, the range of portion sizes is broad. Some dishes look like they wouldn't fill up a bird while others are overflowing, yet they're all the same price, so it's best to pick meals that are bigger. I reviewed some that didn't have as much as others. Since they do things in small batches in actual kitchens in different locations, the experience will be different depending on where you order. So unlike a service like Hello Fresh or Factor where if one thing has a problem, all of those items need to be recalled, the thing that made me sick at Cook Unity was likely just something with that package I got from that kitchen, like ordering from a restaurant. It definitely put me off but things happen. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you! They were really good. I think there were a few more flavors that weren't available. There were also some things I would've gotten that I just didn't notice on the site until after I already placed the order. Definitely a positive enough experience that I'd consider doing this again down the road!

It's honestly a great idea as far as recipes. Despite what happened to me, I often think about trying it out again one day just because there's so much variety and you can't beat the taste. Thanks for the comment!

Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare. I'm glad the food is good, especially if you follow a specific diet. But delivery issues can defeat the purpose as far as meal planning goes. Not to mention food safety concerns. Thanks for commenting!

I had my fourth box delivered yesterday or should I say kind of. I got a text message from them that my box was delivered with a picture of my front door. I messaged them back and said that is not my house. Then they proceeded to give me an address where my box had been delivered and asked me could I go pick it up myself. I was working from home so I told them no. I also told them I do not feel comfortable going to take a box from in front of somebody’s door because I don’t want to be labeled as a pirate on someone’s video. Anyway they proceeded to text me a couple more times to try to get me to go get it and said they are trying to resolve the issue. A little while later there’s a knock at my door and it’s a nice lady bringing me my delivery that she got by mistake, from a different address than the one they gave me! So I texted them back to tell them I did get my food and told them if I had gone to the address they gave me I would’ve been knocking at a strangers door who would have no clue to what I was talking about. the best they could do was tell me that the address they gave me came from the GPS logged with the order delivery! I told them it was obviously wrong and they had no answer. they didn’t seem to care who brought me my food and that it wasn’t their person who screwed it up to begin with. The food is mostly good but I’m getting kind of bored of it already. It was a little eye-opening to read your post and find out that my food isn’t prepared local. For some reason I thought they were prepared locally and then shipped out to the houses. now I’m wondering how many days ago these things were cooked because I always think it’s like I’m eating leftovers every day.

Oh no! I don't keep up with them so I wasn't aware that they had another recall. I just googled it and it looks like there was one in December for chicken related meals that some people got a list for but maybe others didn't. Thanks for mentioning it and I'm sorry that the company doesn't work for you. If you find something you like better, feel free to let other folks here know about the experience!

Yes, some people definitely find it too small. It's either too much or too little for me depending on the meal, but it also has like 200 different ones in my area, so if I jump back into it, I'll just pick the ones that are more filling.

That sucks! It's always nice to hear the experiences people have with these services. Especially since our country is so big, different regions have different things to consider. I definitely wouldn't want warm groceries showing up at all but especially if I'm in a warmer area to begin with. Hopefully another service will work better for you!

It's a shame that it's declined for you after years of using it. I feel like a lot of food related things have declined recently in general. Even restaurants in terms of quality or servings have gotten a bit worse yet more expensive. Thanks for visiting my channel. I'm sorry to hear that! It wasn't until I went through the process that I realized why I saw a number of people mention getting a box after they cancelled. It's annoying the way cancellation works with them. Hopefully you found another service that worked out!

Thank you so much! I really like the meal kits, but I think the ready meals are hit or miss for all of the services that do both. I think the company I enjoyed most for both was Home Chef. I remember really liking their microwave options and the portions for them too, so maybe check out their menu.

My favorites so far are Hello Fresh and Home Chef for sure! Trying Green Chef in Jan. so I'll see how I like that one next@@mealbeforeme
