The Brazilian elections, a corrupt circus!
Переглядів 2823 місяці тому
Every four years we have our presidential elections here in Brazil and in between we have our municipal elections. Politics here is mostly about power, money and securing your own future and not the future of the people. Corruption in Brazil is a disease that there is no cure for and while the rich get richer its the poor who suffer.

I found 60 hectares with waterfalls and a house and trees that I like but I want to make sure I don’t lose my money if I decide to purchase it. I have a CPF card already. I live in the US and have visited Brasil 19 times and love it.
I love your vidéos , i stay in icaraiizinho thé best against rats ,two cats 😜
I’m a dog person 😅 but thanks for the advice ☺️ haven’t seen a rat for some time now 🙏🏻
the rat in the ceiling is hilarious🤗
Glad you enjoyed it… I can’t say the same 😅
This entire region is soooo full of insects and small animals. I have never seen such type of invasors not even in the Amazon. 😅
Nice episode once again😊
Thank you my friend 👍
Andreas , i could not find the rates for your pousada rooms . I added your whatsapp page on my phone , and asked for the rates . still have not received the rates . I will be visiting Brasil most likely in 2025 with my wife from Salvador de Bahia , and our mixed race son 15 months young at the moment. I received the rates through whatsapp by now , THANKS , the rooms are all very well equipped , we are gone decide how and when .
Hey buddy. I’m sorry about the late reply. I try my best not to mix my UA-cam channel with my business ☺️ Glad you made it! 👍
If. One has the $$. Get a small tire inflator 12volt. Lower the tire pressure to where they bow out a little. We did this all the time in desert. Standard 4x4 practice.
I always carry a Ryobi compressor in my car ☺️ until now I’ve never had to use it 😅
@ I was driving a few weeks ago. Hit a hole on the highway (like your first video spoke of). Rim and tire destroyed. Luckily had a new spare tire in the rental car.
Just bring flat boards to place under tires, same as snow.
Hallo Andreas , nice to see you found the inspiration to shoot edit and upload yet another video , Thanks ! Glad to know you are a bitcoiner like me !
I do my best ☺️ It’s not so bad being a bitcoiner now that the price has risen over 100K 😅
I visited Porto Alegre in June 2023 and I enjoyed it there. I wouldn't want to live there but it sure has it's charms and excellent Gaucho barbecue. I feel so bad about what has happened there, for the people, the animals and just how long it will take to rebuild.
I don't understand how you could cut yourself allthough you had proper safety Flipflops on 🤣 Nice Video always good to see your Videos 💪🏻
🤣 they haven’t invented flip flops with steel toes yet!
My overall cost of living here is about 1/3 the cost of living in Canada. Real estate is 1/4 to 1/3 the price as well. New cars are expensive to buy, so go and buy a used vehicle, but, gas, insurance, and maintenance are cheaper overall. I don't own a car though, as you really don't need one here. I live in Rio de Janeiro and Petropolis, and I've been here for 20 years. A lot of what this guy says is wrong IMHO, but hey, it's the internet and YMMV. It doesn't matter what currency you get paid in, what counts is how much, and how you want to live, like anywhere else on the globe. Brasilians love to complain, "yeah buy you earn in dollars".......LOL. If you want to live like a rich idiot from MIami, fucking stay in Miami. The country and culture has so much to offer you'll never be home anyways except to sleep and shower.
The Brazilian northeast will still be one of the greatest tropical destinations in the world. People just don’t know it yet.
What are you comparing this to? When I was a kid California was much better than this. Now it's much worse until you go far north past Sacramento. And that really should be a separate State. Even Silly Con Valley is way worse than this, albeit with wider roads and more elaborate construction projects.
ok, but what do Bolsonaro has to do with it? Why did you put a cloud nose on him?
very honest, those roads omg, pot hole central.
Democatie all over the World is corruption 🤷
Have a nice day!
Bom dia!

I feel like the west is just as corrupt, they just hide it better, there is a pretentious layer of "we're civilized" covering the corruption here in the west
I been following your channel. Unfortunately having to experience this issue on a consistent bases can be discouraging. I have a question and I was wondering if you could provide some impute. I am exploring the possibility moving to Brazil under the retiree golden visa. My question is related to taxes. For example assuming my bank in U.S. wire USD$3,500 per month for my living expenses. How much could I expect to pay in taxes? the money obviously originated from US, does Brazil tax 27.5% from the top? what has been your experience ?
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I’m not up to date on tax policies for US retirees in Brazil. Wish I could help but since I’m from Norway and not retired I don’t have an answer for you. Try the website expat.com and ask around in the forums there. There you should get some help. Best of luck to you 😊
Maybe a little detrimental to the well being of your business what you are saying here about officials 😅
Yeah, I would never dare to do this in his position.
😂 I would never have dared to say this in public 10 years ago but I’ve been here so long now and know the right people so I feel pretty safe ☺️ Besides, I’m probably one of very few in town who is running my business 100% legit ☺️
💯 agree!
Yes , its incredible that even though all the negativity , and many evil corrupted devils , there is still so much worth experiencing , in the incredible beauty of nature and divine climate , and pretty , sincere people .
He might not be in jail , the police pretends the suspects are in jail, the media help the police , issueing fake news , that the criminals are in jail , when the criminals are simply free and hiding from society .
My wife is from Salvador , capitol of the state of Bahia . I am from western europe where we live , and we had our first son 13 months ago. Our son is a very nice mixed kid , that everybody loves to see. I have visited Brasil many times . I noticed the country is a country of extremes , extreme good , sincere people , and extreme evil , criminal , corrupted , coke addicted demons . Extreme useless politicians , that abuse their power , shamelesly .
Good thing that the kid gets to grow up in Western Europe.
Banks create money out of thin air , they just change a few figures in a computer , so they have all the power , so the politicians and the banks united rob the people by causing inflation , as they create new money out of nothing , they are a ugly bunch of hyeanas , debasing the value of the fake fiat money as it is called . Biggest problem in the world , that causes all the problems in al countries . A possible solution is a new currency with a limited amount of units of coins , and to create these , energy and work needs to be done , called : proof of work . Hopefully crypto currency can take away as many disadvantages and shortcomings of the existing fiat money , as possible .
What is "funnier" is that both Mexico and Brazil are extremely violenta not because they produce drugs (of course they do to some extent) but because they are ROUTES for drugs. And guess who are the largest markets for these drugs? US and Europe...this is not about blame shifting, it is about accountability. Take care....
Belém and Pará as Northeast? Is this guy illiterate? What a joke.
Please clarify the distinction between education and Politics. Education is the backbone for Brazil and teachers play a very crucial role in shaping each student's future. For a country to thrive education is essential. It empowers everyone to contribute positively fostering the development of responsible citizens. Please make one video for public schools and education system
belem is located in the top most north part, not northeast northeast would be going from south bahia sergipe alagoas pernambuco ou recife Paraiba natal or rio grande do norte maranhão and sao Luis, which is actually north not north east

Andreas. I will not create a similar video on my channel. What you have stated here, is ABSOLUTELY true. I am living the nightmare of hiring the wrong Engineer. Learning only two years later he graduated near the bottom of his class. Yes, he was recommended by a friend of our daughters. In the end our mistake for trusting him. The bones of our house are strong. It is single story though with my knowledge I over built the house. We could put two more floors above us. Thank god I have a background (from family members that are contractors) of construction and electrical. In May we fired him. We are suing him. Another thing to keep in mind. A common practice in Brasil is for a person (generally a business person) to place all their assets (eg. cars, house, sometimes banking etc.) in family members names. That information came from two lawyer friends here in Brasil. That way they have nothing to go after should their poor workmanship be discovered. Remember in the USA and Europe time equals money. In Brasil, money equals time. The longer they can stretch out the days and weeks on a simple project, the more in the pocket. And those IG Video is DEAD ON ACCURATE. Anyhow. Keep on movin' on. #vaidacerto Viva Goias !!!
Hey, great video! what are the best kite surf spots in the North East in your opinion? :)
You are really looking tired and unrelaxed. The business is killing you. This is not the Brazilian way of life. You better sell the pousada or rent it out as a whole. Then you could dedicate more to kite surfing. Via sar certo 😂😂😂
Sell my pousada? My dream? Nunca! 👎🏻
Public Healthcare is mostly good for 2 things: Getting prescriptions (sometimes medication) and for people with incurable diseases. As for surgery, anything above stiches I would recommend going private.
Depends totoally on the city where you live. Rio or Sao Paulo go private as the SUS line us way to big. In a smaller, but well developed city of 250K however, SUS works amazingly well like it was designed to.
Andreas, I'm Brazilian and I'm a civil engineer. I worked with Europeans for some time, with multinationals in Brazil and, today, I work in the public sector and provide services as a freelancer, always as a civil engineer. It is not true that there is no quality control in construction works in Brazil. What happens is that, especially in small projects, the workers have no formal qualifications or quality control habits, and it is also not the habit of engineers to carry out quality control in accordance with the regulations, which are very similar to the Eurocodes in many aspects. Here in Brazil, in this type of work, there is an emphasis on reducing costs at any cost, with less concern regarding quality, functionality and durability. When hiring this type of service, I recommend being very careful and specific about what you want to get, in addition to hiring professionals who are really good (here in Brazil, there is a huge difference between the qualifications of professionals. “There are engineers and engineers.” Inequality in Brazil is the rule and not the economic exception.). The reality is that, when comparing “Western” countries with Brazil, the development of quality parameters are very different. In Brazil, what happened with the implementation of these protocols was an almost copy of the criteria of developed countries with impositions coming violently from above, although the population already had a constructive culture adapted to our reality and available resources. In Europe, this imposition came through a different path, in such a way that these parameters are already in some way cultural and imposed from below. So, they are quite different realities, which need to be treated with a very critical eye.
Andreas, as a Brazilian viewer, I would never tell you to go back to Norway. You work in our country, pay taxes, and deserve respect. I don't need subtitles to understand you because I've been fluent in English since I was a child. I live in Rio, I've traveled a lot, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that what you said is absolutely right, but it depends a lot on the area where you live. For example, here in the countryside of Rio, talking to some people and the city being small, you can get an idea if the person has experience, is responsible, and keeps their word. In capital cities like yours, it's more difficult, but whenever I needed experienced bricklayers and construction companies in big cities, I turned to Google and Facebook Marketplace. After days of research, and seeing what people have said about them, I make my decision. And as you said, only hire the labor, you buy the materials. Live and learn. Despite the despair, in the end "Tudo vai dar certo". Take care.
Thank you for your reply, it sounds like you are fluent in English. Where did you learn? Regarding the negative comments I usually get are from those who don’t understand English and need the automatic translation turned on. UA-cam does a terrible job of translating sometimes and what I’m saying just comes out of context at times. It is true that the poor work culture is different depending on where you live. Generally everything is better down south but Ive only had bad luck here unfortunately.
@@thebrazilianexpat4041 I took an English course when I was 11 years old and learned the rest through the internet and daily life. Now, at 39, I find myself forgetting some words in Portuguese but remembering them in English, and vice versa. It's strange, my memory isn't what it used to be. Regarding google's automatic translation, I find it bizarre how they spend billions on AI yet haven't solved something so simple. Some paid websites listen to your voice, detect the language you spoke, and create captions in over 100 languages, but Google can't manage it. But don't care about the hate, they don't know what they are talking about. Anyway, even here in Rio, it's difficult to find competent engineers. They usually work for large companies, as you mentioned. What's left for us are "bricklayers" with decent knowledge, but they always lack something. They know how to build but don't understand electrical work or plumbing properly. (and the "helpers"), but as I think about it now, there are companies that manage entire projects and contract their own skilled teams - engineers, bricklayers, assistants, and so on. The best part is they offer warranties, typically for five years or more. If anything goes wrong during that period, you don't have to pay a thing. Of course, they might cost a bit more upfront, but you avoid the hassle of arguing with individual contractors. These companies have established offices, legal representation, and everything is formalized with contracts. They are known as "empreiteiras" in Portuguese. If you search for "empreiteiras Fortaleza" on google, you'll find over 100 such companies. One piece of advice I'd give you is: don't stress yourself out. Don't let despair take over. Despite having already made reservations for the rooms, please do not despair. the more desperate we become, the worse things get, like what happened with the cut on your foot and the healing process of the product you applied. Stay calm, have faith, and remain confident. Best of luck with everything!
@@thebrazilianexpat4041 That's awkward, I wrote a gigantic text to you and it disappeared to me. Well, I hope you see it. I will write the most important part again: "but as I think about it now, there are companies that manage entire projects and contract their own skilled teams - engineers, bricklayers, assistants, and so on. The best part is they offer warranties, typically for five years or more. If anything goes wrong during that period, you don't have to pay a thing.
