I bought one 3 years ago. It's a great generator.

Tried to use this Generator that we bought from Costco. Never used until after power went out and Hurricane Beryl subsided. Ran it into the house and connected it to a couple standing fans and a couple standing lights along with our refrigerator. After about 7 minutes the GFCI popped on the outlets. Thought ok, that was strange. So, process of elimination cables and items plugged in it boiled down to the refrigerator causing it to pop the GFCI. Friend and next-door neighbor had a discounted and old 8250 off the wall brand generator and he let us use it as well while "mind you" him running all his stuff in his house. "TV-REFRIG-FREEZER-Various lights/fans" and we ran 2 cables from his generator to my house and I ran Refrigerator-Microwave-3 Standing lights and 3 standing oscillating fans along with the occasional toaster and all our chargers for phone etc. along with 2 desktop computers to give it a nice load. Showed the neighbor all we had hooked up along with his stuff and we were pretty damn amazed his generator handled all of it like a champ. Decided let's see if it was just my refrigerator causing our NEW Generator to pop the GFCI. Nope, His refrigerator did the same. So, with that said we are returning the Generac 9200E back to Costco and we will either look for another brand or maybe attribute to that single unit being defective and get a replacement and see how it goes. But very disappointed at the fact when the generator was needed badly it failed us!! Right out of the box!!!!!

Nice job explaining the similarities. Here is where they differ: Chiner made Generac = After 200 hours, no longer EPA compliant (no joke, its printed on the EPA sticker). Japan made Honda = After 2000 hours, finally broke-in. I own two gens. 1) a 2021 Honda Eu3000is. 2) a 2023 Yamaha Ef4500ise (both purchased new). Both machines made in Japan. I am 67 yrs. old and I fully expect these machines to outlast me. Cheers!

Thank you. What would you suggest for us. We go to a place where the electricity is touch and go not working sometimes for a few days or more. What would be suitable for my wife & I to have where it starts automatically without us messing around with plugs wires or gasoline. We love our AC it’s important to have something that would keep them running as well. Thank you.

can you tell me how to bypass the co sensor on the genmax 9000ied. it trips the co sensor in open air and i am trying to determine if it is the co sensor is bad before i spend money on a new one. thanks

Great generator. I have 2 and daisy chain them together sometimes. Only issue was last week when it was raining I put a piece of ply over it like a teepee. And it would randomly die for a second or completely shut off. Took it off and ran fine. So the CO2 sensor was doing that. Kinda annoying how sensitive it is.
