3.8.23 Question what about THD (total harmonic distortion )greater than 5%? Will this hurt you electronic devices inside the house? Example: furnace, refrigerator, computer, well pump and so on.

Good question Chuck! For sensitive electronics such as cell phones and laptops, having a low THD is best. Inverter generators like those in the small and medium categories are best here, as they will have THD's below 5%, while larger portables may have THDs above 15%. Large appliances such as furnaces, refrigerators, etc will be less affected by harmonic distortion, and powering these with a standard generator should be no problem.
