THIS ARC IS NUTS!!! (Kingdom Full Manga Review Part 1)
Eren is a smarty dumb pants who convinces himself that this was all for freedom
I finally finished the Anime last night, and my initial response was "Okay, so we're just excusing Eren as a force of history, rather than someone with agency?" It felt problematic. This video has helped me reframe the ending.
I’m pretty sure eldians would have all been killed if he hadn’t activated the rumbling
Eren was the number 5 cadet he could have joined the miltary police if he wanted. He had unrivaled determination and courage and will power and the transformed him into something special good video besides that
I recommend checking out part one I talk more I'm depth about that there
I LOVE THIS VIDEO, thanks for putting alot of effort in to it
I'm glad you liked it!!
Really good Video, even though Eren himself said that he may still would've done The Rumbling even if he didn't know it would happen so maybe his are just an Metaphor for his Nature that he can't escape what do you think about this?
Don't you get it??? Its been said, that pursueing of freedom is somehow attack titan's ability, but! As we know, Eren, the last attack titan combined with coordinate abilities could alter all the previous attack titan users and show them WHAEVET HE WANTED. And it's because of Eren, that all those attack titans from the past were doing all just like Eren wanted, to get to the point as he is right now going rumble. :D
I remember watching the conversation with Armin and Eren, and when he broke down and started crying I felt so relieved that he was actually in there the entire time. Seeing people arguing it was character assassination had clearly not been paying attention. The boy had been a big cry baby since the beginning. Always crying and screaming. This was Eren and I was so happy to see him be honest with Armin who knew him best of all.
Bro why the fuck do people completely disregard his development? Both the monster and the whiner are the real eren
i agree with most of what you said. but the rumbling was the only option. where the whole world gets whipped out.
Why did it show eren thinking about his mom dying when he marched on marley? Not sure if video covered that, maybe i missed it
I think it represents the people on Marley being kid Eren watching everything they loved about to be taken away, like how Eren did when he saw his mom die. but this time he was the one taking, instead of the people on Marley
@Castiel335 but if Eren actually killed his mom, how can that be the fury he's feeling against Marley?
People who thing Gabi is like Eren, Can you please tell me why you think so?
You can watch my full video and that will explain it!
Gabi is a child, treat her like one. Sasha killed her friends and raided her city. See her pov too
I do not want to say this but I have never seen a child laugh like a maniac after bombing a train and killing hundreds of people.
Hate her hate her hate her
Idk care about her after she kill sasha
Gabis design is based on a female Eren design that Isayama made so🤷🏼♀️
But still i hate her
The only thing different was one still had a family at the end of the series. Gabi deserved to get beaten more bc she could of stoped the rumbling and fumbled it
As a huge JRPG fan, I kept on expecting the story to turn around, I kept expecting the rug to be pulled out from under us with Eren's memories of the past and to pull a Xenoblade 1 with a "the future isn't written" bit. As season 4 went on I kept on hoping that something would happen to allow the happily ever after endings common in JRPGs, and I held onto that right up until Eren rose from the Colossal Titan nuke crater as another Colossal Titan. When Eren kept on fighting, even after the Rumbling was stopped, I knew that all possibilities for a happy ending were gone and Eren had to die (still didn't make the scene where he did any easier, lol). This video kind of sums up why I love the show, I love how Eren followed the typical JRPG protag progression up until season 4 where all of that character progression gets destroyed. I initially disliked this, but when I reexamine the show, I can't even say it doesn't make sense; the show had set it up that way from the beginning. So, thank you for the video, I'm super excited for anything Isayama may do in the future.
That's why I don't hate Gabi like others do. People who do hate her just don't want to see her pov
She killed Sasha.
I started hating her when she killed Sasha, because Sasha at the time was one of my favorite characters. But, she ended up becoming one of my favorite characters in the show by the end.
consider yourself an opp @@samuelkennedy2840
@@Kyle-xy9iwand Sasha raided her home, directly killing people she cared about. Hating her for killing a soldier when Eren killed multiple civillians (including children) that day is petty. They literally only attacked an internment zone full of innocent eldians right after they were used as cannon fodder during the war against the middle eastern forces. How else did you expect Gabi to react?
@@mwndjddjdhdbbf8408 You know defaming Eren for attacking civilians is petty too when you consider what the Marleyans had been doing. Eren's aunt,a child, was fed to a dog and Gabi also killed many people when she bombed the train
Well, it's because they're (maley) the one who started it all isn't it
No (?)
No eren understood others and marley
Gabi was just still a fucking kid back then. Plus she soon realized later
Not at the beginning
Even tho, I still hate her for what she did to Sasha
My little brother asked me was Eren wrong? And honestly I had to tell him, if it came to choosing him or our family over humanity, I would most certainly step on at least 80% of humanity but maybe I’m wrong.
The thing is though I really don't think it's that binary. There were other options
@ I ageee as an individual but that’s the narrative Marley and some of the Eldians pushed was, it’s us or them. I definitely agree it did not have to be this way though but circumstances and influencing factors made it that way.
This is my personal interpretation but to me I believe the reason Eren has a drive for freedom is because he himself set up his life to be that way through memories of the past. Just like he told his father to kill the royal family, Eren manipulated events to lead to the rumbling. This is why the attack titan before Eren’s father told him to protect Armin and Mikasa even though they were yet to be born. This would also explain why he let the titan of Dina Fritz eat his mother instead of the colossal titan. He also showed his younger self what freedom looks like through manipulating memories and made younger Eren believe it was just a dream. These crucial moments in Erens life is what makes him motivated to gain freedom but it is himself that caused this. This paradox is why he says that he is a slave to freedom. He is not born with this sense of freedom although he WAS born into the situation that makes him a perfect vessel for the Attack Titan and perhaps had some personality traits that caused him to be the perfect vessel for the Attack Titan. Again, this is just my opinion and maybe you are correct that the inheritance is predetermined and they are born with a fixation on freedom.
It was a good try, but the ending is still terrible. Eren isn't special? Yeah okay, let's just fall back into the mindset of the oppressor (such as King Fritz) that you must be born a certain way to achieve something. That you don't deserve something because of it? Eren is not a slave to freedom. His definition of freedom is obtainable. Wipe 100% of the world excluding Paradis. He CAN be free. Eren isn't an idiot. Where did you get that? Are you saying that he was just following a path... Ymir's path huh? Because Eren explicitly says he followed the plan that was already laid out for him... Eren's a slave, but not to freedom. He's a slave to the girl that died 2000 years ago. Yeah right... Bravo Isayama. I want to know, what do you think Eren achieves? Freedom for his friends? The friends that he found to be incompetent and unable to help themselves in the situation they were in? Yeah, they can handle 20% of the world population on their own... like wtf? I mean, if you consider Erens character from 1-139 as the same character since the beginning of the story, then yeah. hes clearly and idiot. but hes not the same character. He was retconned. isayama achieved his goal of eren taking a different role, but completely shitting on his character. What you try to do is find reasons in the role to explain everything. You simply can't, as aot isn't as well written as people take it out to be for it to have such a creative and complex narrative. the most you can derive from the stories lore is an obvious parallel like Ymir and Historia, or Eren and Historia's clearly SETUP romance that Isayama abandoned. Why create such parallels just to throw them away on a character like Mikasa who is not narratively essential? I mean, even Isayama said so. he wrote the story around armin, eren and historia. Mikasa isn't important. Not once do we get to hear her thoughts on freedom, because she doesn't have any. Shes a hollow character that you can simply boil down as being deluded over eren. shes a terrible dueteragonist. Eren's motive for freedom is clear. he believes it's his birthright. his mother said so. his motives for freedom are clear. you purposely mislead the viewer and spin your own perspective on something that is quite objective in the narrative.
What I got were from the interviews of the writer isayama and from the canon of the story. u on the other hand is just disappointed ur reading of the story was incorrect. Saying erens character is a retcon when there is clear explaining throught out the story about how he turned out this way is just plain silly ngl. You eren/historia shippers need to actually take a chill pill. One last thing I suggest getting a life and moving on from a story that ended 4 years ago its crazy.
@ you’re the one who posted the video 4 years later. If you decide to ignore basic reasoning as to why the story doesn’t work, then it’s your problem. You can’t take the word of the author in interviews. Why? Because it’d be the equivalent of asking a child whether or not they broke the shattered vase they are standing beside. Of course they did, but they won’t admit it. Isayama has nothing to gain from being honest and admitting that he messed up the story. He’s already been praised for his work, why go back on it? jK Rowling attempted to race change/change the sexuality of her characters a while back, but nobody accepted it. Because at the end of the day, if you truly choose to claim these fallacies, retcons, plot holes in the story are canon, then your story loses all semblance to being a well written story. Season 1-3 contradicts what season 4 delivered. You haven’t provided any reasoning as to why EreHisu isn’t viable, and why EreMika is. I don’t care about ships, but even that doesn’t matter, as the ships themselves MATTER to the story. They develop the story and plot. At least, EreHisu does. But EreMika only degrades them. You didn’t even bother to address a single one of my arguments, and your response allows me to come to the conclusion that you cannot refute them. Though I’ve already known that that is the case, as AoT isn’t a very complex story, which you make it out to be. As entitled and stuck up as that sounds, it is nothing compared to the fact that you choose to bend your own way of thinking to match an idea that simply does not work. I haven’t gone in depth as to why I think the story is flawed, but I give props to you for making a 40 minutes video while being so confidently wrong.
@@Killtagious cool
I originally thought Eren was, stagnant. The same kid with his dumb ideals. So his breakdown seems valid.
Eren is probably the worst written protagonist ever
Worst ever is a stretch no 😶😶
@Ace_D starting from immature motives to detoriated plan (relative to someone who supposed to know everything) to reckless unnecessary genocide. Only delusional fans won't admit they weren't detached from Eren after season 3.
Maybe just maybe, try to think about things instead of only assuming that the way u think is the only way there is try challenging ur thoughts. And also I don't think u understand how the power works
Considering that he was god from the age of 9 years old, forced to live infinite timelines in which the only way to save everybody was by “being the necessary evil” It’s indefinitely a false perspective for those who didn’t comprehend it. The Eren that we see from the first episode/first panel was already aware of the infinite futures. He played dumb the entire series, even as a child. Which if you review it a second time, you easily catch every single instance. Nothing is just happenstance, he has no choice but to “act” surprised as to achieve the future that he finally found. Which is why he “woke up from the dream” to then live it out. Again, how the first episode begins lol. He really could’ve just slaughtered everyone from the first second he wakes up as a child. Just running place to place consuming each titan wielder. But no, because of his father’s final words, he embraced the maturity and let them live modest lives until the last possible time frame in which it was time to act as the harbinger. We could’ve saw Eren with every single Titan ability as a merciless god. But the author wanted to portray that he only sought the “least” power necessary, on a neutral scale, to achieve the end goal. This is actually why he let Reiner and the other wielders live. He didn’t need too, they weren’t even necessary components lol. The armored Titan alone would have easily made the difference for him to achieve the goal earlier. But it made no difference, because he already knew it would be achieved regardless. Once you flip the perspective, the only reason he let them live a second past his childhood years; is because they were actually the ones he wanted to kill him later. And in doing so, they understand that he was never actually evil. He did it for humanity and for them as he said the entire time. He went out as the ultimate martyr, with the most internal pain that a character could probably even hold.
"Eren bird is stupid". Man that picture was so funny I had to go back and pause it 😂
Woww 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I enjoyed the horse guide joke more than anything in that scene 😂
Damn this was a really good breakdown of what happened to Eren’s character. You mention things I haven’t thought of when watching it personally. Great video
same code geass
Eren Yeager is my wife
How
You know a meida IP is beautiful when you have people talking about it like this. Wonderful video brother 💪
Free Palestine and free eren from bad mc allegations
As an anime only I was disappointed with the ending not because of the final conversation but the plot holes that the story created just to get to the most 5/10 final conversation i've ever seen
Can u tell me what plot holes?
@Ace_D Eren being able to transform into a colossal titan despite losing his founding titan power (Aka the worm being detached from his body because of armin's explosion, and even if the worm had nothing to do with his powers, then how was he able to use it then if zeke was dead) and on top of that he was still able to use it to send a memory to mikasa to tell her he was in the mouth and I also don't know how Mikasa and Levi were affected by the founding titan despite being Ackermanns.
ua-cam.com/video/Gtgz-2IZV_s/v-deo.htmlsi=WhC7LkH1nDIkZjR1 there is also this vid I found explaining what I said in depth
I hope this doesn't sound stupid or taken the wrong way, but I can personally relate to Eren in many ways. I can understand his pain and suffering, but also his need to be better or do better. Also, his feelings of being trapped and isolated. Yes, I know he actively pushed his loved ones away and made things worse, and he should have handled it better and sought help. But that doesn't mean a person can't relate to his feelings and even feel bad for his character and what happened to him even though he brought it on himself. Loving Eren or showing him sympathy/empathy or understanding the reasons why is not the same as supporting his actions, which I do not. But I absolutely feel for his character a lot, probably more than I should.
I totally get you it's one of the reasons I made this video
@Ace_D Thank you. I'm glad that you did make the video. You did a good job, too.
Free Palestine 🍉
He's a sexy chad. Good upload bro. It was interesting. He was not free. He already saw his outcome.
I think the idea of the attack Titan provoking the user's. Just makes Erens character less interesting
Eren IS the reason the attack titan is the way it is, he influenced it and every inheritor before him.
Completely 18:23
Man its refreshing to finally see someone recognize the tragedy in Eren instead of writing him off as a chad or a virgin. AoT for sure wasn't made for the 13 year olds base it attracted. Heads up, neat video
Just a little advice i think you need to turn up your audio a lot
Yeah it's the biggest problem with the video😶
Amazing video! Thank you for your hard work!
As someone that left the shoes feeling like I was robbed of one of the greatest crashouts of all time, after watching this, I feel like I understand what Isayama’s message. Great Video 🤌🏽
Thank you im glad i was able to convey the msg!
Gee thanks. Now we need a video explaining this video and whatever message you had going on with your wall behind you.
Honestly though, great commentary.
It's the same as the video 😂😂
My heart literally skipped abeat when i saw that palestinian flag. Massive respect to you for not forgetting the ongoing rumbling against the palestinian people. And unlike the rumblimg in aot where it was the eldians only path to survival and somewhat justified the one in gaza is completely one sided and driven only by greed and hatred.
Free Palestine from the river to the sea
