Excellent playing mate,I love Cory's playing and you do a fantastic job of imitating him. I also agree with you the Strat is the way to ho go if you want that authentic funk sound, although the I think the humbucker guitars also sound gr8, but just a different flavour..

A string tip I learned from the 1990s when I had the PV Wolfgang, Eddie put the strings in backwards so the ball would be at the locking nut take your string push it through the tuners at the head stock bring it down to the tremolo cut the string to the length you want pinch it into the little saddle And the ball of the string will be locked up against the tuner then tighten the string and the ball automatically cinches the string you don't have to cut it crimp it or nothing like that, works amazing

Couple of items TJ ; - Should anyone plunk down what the Eagles, or Mariah Carey - whom is a documented lip sync'er - are charging? Let alone McCartney whose voice has been in shambles for 20 years now. Absolutely not. - However these " xyz band is faking" videos are a cottage industry now on YT. Money is involved it obtaining views on the video. Fil / Pegasus has some audio meter graphics posted in which he says Henley is using the same recording of his voice for multiple concerts. But the problem is you have to trust Fil, that he is not putting the - same - graph up for side by side comparison, claiming they are from different performances. But he gets hits on that video, and there you have it... - Now, was Walsh using a sequencer to purify and sustain his last note there "stay"? That is pretty clear if you have the ear to decipher it. Lindsey Buckinham has been caught out doing the same, and Carey for 20 years now on that wicked last note of "We Belong Together". So is the whole industry a gambit now to defraud and overcharge fans who just want to see a live performance? Clearly there are bad actors, and that could also apply also to YT'ers who might be glomming on to a famous performer, sliding the audio track askance from the video track on an A/V app, in order to claim the performance was fake. When Fil went after Ken Tamplin, who has the chops and has not lost his voice, I got off the bus. - RG

I actually had a John English 50th anniversary 1954 masterbuilt , when I ordered it I specified it had to be a John English built guitar so I had to wait a bit longer for it to be built. I ended up selling it , worse thing I’ve ever done it was the one guitar I should have kept . ☹️

That Les Paul funk playthrough tho... so good. The Strat is more authentic Pop/Funk style a la Prince or Nile Rogers, but the LP reminds me of 70s soul and 90's rnb in places. Like Wah Wah Watson's work with Herbie Hancock and Maxwell. Probably more of a testament to your playing!

Yes, I’d be upset to hear someone lip sync. I already hate it when artists use backing tracks, and/or harmonize with their selves- unless, it’s a demo. I even hate most studio recordings- they edited- you should sing the whole song for it to be real- I can’t even hardly enjoy music, unless it’s live- and now they’re auto tuning live music- it just ruins it for me. That’s the downside of being a musician and a musical ear 😬

The great Dannielle DeAndrea won't be singing backup at the Joe show, because she's here in Australia at the moment: that cuts the value of a Joe show by around 50% in my book, but that's just me.

Super cool. I always wonder how much gain Guthrie uses. If you have tone in your hands gain is detrimental. Lots of guys use Uber gain but it compresses everything and makes it sound monotone. Eddies tone was unforgiving in the 70s. All in the hands. Badass guitar. I also like the Floyd without tuners. Awesome dude.

i came across the bat2m model a while ago and played it, but could not buy it as it was the only demo guitar in the shop (was on back order). Just orderded the bat2ce model. Amazing value and great study guitar too

Nice. I’m using the Dream 63 pedal for all my recordings. It’s perfect for me - does that chewy just breaking up thing. Then you can switch it to luke or SRV style mods. Which sing. Would like the lion too but have the Apollo which has a chunky Marshall unison. Also - very nice playing ❤
