Dude! First, as a VH fan and musician since my first piano lesson at the age of 8 years old (both in 1979) allow me to tip my hat off to you! WoW! Great job on the guitar work! You absolutely nailed not only the blues shuffle rhythmic aspects of Eddie's playing but also his expressionism in your compositions! Bravo! Second, I completely agree with you that Eddie's playing went Supernova in the Sammy era! Great review and Great video! Cheers from Canada!
Torn between getting the audible book or Hardback copy which has the photos in it. 🤔 I really don't think Alex will put another book out. Think he'll just ignore the Hagar years cos of Sam's Red autobiography!
Excellent & great tone too! 🤘 The music of VH was brilliant, Eddie's virtuosity was out of this world, but it's all to support attitude, which was delivered by DLR. ☮
Good review & Guitar playing, i did a Video Book Review also. I do like the Book, But yes NO mention of Sammy & the 86 Album onward was Odd. I became a fan in 1986 so it was Right when 5150 came out. I Liked it just thought Roths Eat em & Smile was way Better
Nice playing my friend. The book is very incomplete. It leaves out a lot. He doesn’t want to discuss Hagar, that’s his choice, whatever. I was disappointed that he basically quoted other sources and interviews for most of the book instead of writing in his own voice. He seems like an angry guy even in his old age. I’m glad I read it though, this is closure for me but I’ll always miss Eddie.
Holy shit! The shreds at the beginning excited me like I was listening to Ed himself.

Great review! Super playing & super nice guitars! Rock on TJ👏👍🎸

Nobody came to a book review to listen you play. But damn I'm glad you did! Sounds fantastic

Red was a shite fest of blame!!
Very little new stuff in this book as a hard core fan for me. Hopefully a book of Sammy years is still to come at some point..

I bought VH I and II guitar book when I was younger and gave up lol. EVH rewrote rock guitar so the stuff he did was not the norm .
Respect. Most people would have nicked the sign !
Terrible how Van Halen treated Michael Anthony.
Definitely, Alex hardly talks about him in his book too.
