Gig Diary - I had 2 days to learn a set for a gig in Ireland - in the village where Bono lives!

- Last week I was asked if I could cover a gig on bass with 2 days notice. It was in the beautiful village of Dalkey in Ireland....that has many well known residents including Bono!
It was a great trip so I made this video about it!
I was the guitarist/lead vocal in this gig and TJ was a total star! On the Tuesday we thought we might have to do this as a three piece and Tom saved the day. 2 days and he nailed it…..on his second (or third?) instrument. Unbelievable professionalism. We were fortunate indeed that he was a)available at such short notice and b)prepared to do it. Thanks Tom 😊❤

Dalkey is an amazing village, i used to live there, its a timeless place with beautiful coastline
I want to go back and spend some more time there......and the rest of Ireland!
Heading to Ireland myself for the first time for a week in October for a Theatre tour. If you have to read again in the future... I saw you tapping on the iPad to scroll/change page.. I have recently got a wireless bluetooth pedal that enables me to do it with my feet.. just as a tip if you needed to do it again in the future? Cool thing is it also doubles up as my MIDI pedal for my Quad Cortex.

Have fun on the tour. What's the pedal you use? Tthat sound great.....I keep thinking I should get a page turner.....I don't need one very often....but if I could use it on my QC too that would be great ps: as long as it doesn't switch the looper off when I turn a page😀
@@iamtjwalker Thanks TJ, I use a pedal called AIRSTEP by XSonic. There are a couple of versions you can get but I have the one that has MIDI out and Bluetooth MIDI. I use it with my QC for an extra 5 buttons and then I can use it with my iPad to change the page and my laptop with plugins. And you can connect to multiple devices at the same time and choose which MIDI outputs they go to so you can control multiple devices at once.

Just leaving a comment on here because of the bizarre nature of the algorithm. This has auto played for me straight out of a video about 4 wheel driving and I’m in Australia. I have absolutely no idea how this was deemed the most relevant next step out of the whole of UA-cam considering I don’t follow you.

Well I'm glad you found the video.....even if it makes no sense.....the YT algorithm is very strange....I got suggested something about dog breeds once.....I've never owned one and have never looked at any other videos about dogs!!
