- Footage from a rehearsal and a gig with the same band playing the same songs, rehearsal with the Quad Cortex, the band I"m playing my Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul guitars through my Milkman Pedal Steel Mini amp.
It was even better when I heard those tracks being played live last Thursday 😂 Fantastic gig by the way, performed by true pro musicians 😊
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it....thanks for coming and telling so many people!!
Preferred the tones from the Quad Cortex by a mile. Tracks sound great by the way.
Amp every day of the week… maybe concider something like a Captor X so you can use a IR and get the best of both worlds.
I'll check that out thanks!
Amp , more full tone.
The amp sounded about 10x better, and I'm a QC owner lol
I preferred the amp too!
why not capture your actual amp and use that on the QC? It's not really apples-to-apples otherwise. Capturing our own gear has made ALL the difference for my band.
I have captured my own amps, but I prefer the models to the captures, they seem to react more naturally. With my amps I set them different every gig.....and I can't capture all the variables...with the models you can adjust as necessary. But I agree.....it would make a much better direct comparison!! This wasn't a very scientific test....I just thought it was interesting as everything else except the amp/modeller was the same!
I agree the amp has just “more”…. Not a gain thing, just richness in the notes. I wish the modelers could get there.
The cleanish tones are the hardest to get. I have the Helix and recently got a Kemper. But man, it’s hard to beat a nice punchy clean amp and a couple drive pedals.
BTW, Knopfler called and wants his licks back (Nice job)
@@jeffbateman2339I’ve only borrowed the licks….they’re still his😂
Ok, not the most scientifically accurate comparisons, but the QC wasn't in the same league.
It wasn't very scientific....I thought it was interesting as everything else was basically the same! More anecdotal evidence than scientific!
