So the problem with these settings for facebook (and likely other socials) is that it exceeds the size they want and so they compress the file. It you use "long edge" and put it at a max of 2048 pixels, then you end up with a 1-3mb file that facebook won't compress.
Hey there! the idea of this video wasn't to save for facebook or social media, it was so the person that asked the question could get a decent quality photo saved on their computer without taking up too much room. I will make a video in the future that is specifically for saving to instagram and FB uploads... and you might be surprised with those results too... going to low with your instagram uploads can be a problem, but I will expand on that in future videos... appreciate your input thou
Can i bring a tripod?
This is a great video, thank you for sharing. Now, what is the resolution you would suggest to still keep good pictures but that dont eat up so much space. This is for private pictures. Thank you
That is a great question!! I will make a video answering this question and post up on UA-cam as soon as I can. Should be very soon, but I will come back to this comment and link it for you
Hey there. I have just made a new UA-cam video answering your question, You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/qy5joMi1Nnw/v-deo.htmlsi=aOda1N1VSvfaoLsn
WTF dude, this tool is known and used for years. Many people have been using to remove skin deformities or tattoos.
calm down bro... the remove tool had a major upgrade in 2024 after been released in 2023 its a totally different tool now with a far better results... for years the healing brush and clone stamp did a better job at removing things like tattoos as you say, but this new development is nothing like we had only a year ago, I encourage you to check it out... here's an adobe article to find out more about the improvements in 2024: www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-editing/using-the-improved-remove-tool-in-photoshop-2024
Absolutely love, and appreciate, all of your wisdom. Thank you for continuing to bless the community 🙏
thanks so much appreciate your kind words very much
Awesome cheers as always Tom ❤
thanks for your support mate
Purchased and upgraded to your course!
Awesome Cody thanks so much for enrolling in the "Water Photographer Essentials" mini course, stoked to have you on board
Sweet thanks for the help!!
So glad it helped, appreciate you letting me know!
Oh man.... I know the feeling well... When I first started I had 0 idea what I was doing.... Exhilarating and scary at the same time. My advice to anyone getting into it. Take your time and prepare your your equipment. Make sure everything is water tight, settings adjusted and test it - on dry land. Last thing you need is a leaky housing out in the surf with waves hammering you.
For sure... being present and taking your time is a huge tip for anyone in this game.. thanks so much for your input, I really appreciate it!
Canon EOS t7.........grid on......still not showing in viewer..........unsure why....any ideas?
I don't have the EOSt7 to properly check but if you have found the grid in the menu and turned it to visable or enabled it should work, does it work in the viewfinder? the lines are subtle, some scenes that are not that obvious
I have no idea why this channel doesn't have more followers! !! this man is a legend! Posting so much info out there... always sharing cool vibes and an awesome attitude! talented and at the same time humble! 🙌 thank you man! ;) Cheers from NYC! (🤔 you do have the "FLASH workshop already out right? is it part of your whole course or a different one...?). 🙏
Thanks so much man! this helps me to keep going with it all.. If anyone out there can help out and share the channel then that will help me to create more content on here. I do have some stuff on flash inside the comprehensive course called "Water Photographer" but I have a course on flash all planned out and 60% written but its just getting the time to film it, but it will come one day... cheers again for the encouragement, it helps more than you could know!
@@dreamlifephotography anytime man! You deserve it! :) 👏 💪 🙏
Can you please make a video on the best way to swim with your housing in the surf?
DITTO!!!!!!!!!
This would be awesome
Great question, I have that inside my "Water Photographer" course right now. It is a combo of different stroke styles used at different times. At the moment it lives inside my course, but if I get more questions or need for a video like this I will make a new video and maybe put it up on here : my course options can be found at : waterphotographycourses.com/
@@dreamlifephotography just FYI there is a glitch when entering your phone number! I kept trying and it kept coming back invalid! And wouldn’t let me complete my order
@@Uisci81 thanks for letting me know🙏🏽 I have got rid of the phone number box now so it should work fine now (must have been a problem with overseas numbers) but I have removed that step… appreciate you letting me know 🤙🏽
I can related to this so much. I still remember my first and last and every one in between and how it felt
If you remain present and follow a tight structure you should never have a problem, but at the same time that little bit of tension makes you pay attention, which is key. Love to get your input and perspective on taking your camera out in the water, thanks for taking the time to respond!
Looks like the DMC repellor only comes up to about a Men's 10 -> 11" foot. I ended up going with the Yucca, they have a lot more sizes and 3 different stiffness to choose from + padding available from the factory.
True? I've heard the Yucca's are great too! I would be very interested to know how you go with them once you've had a chance to properly try them out
This helped alot! Thanks
thanks for letting me know... stoked that it helps you!
Thank you so much for this. I had watched so many other videos but it wasn't working so I knew I was missing something. Yours was much clearer on the download and what to do with it.
So glad to hear that .. appreciate you taking the time to let me know
Legend indeed! This is exactly what i was looking for, no fluff just concise information. Good stuff! Thank you.
Awesome to hear! appreciate you letting me know
lovely
Cheers
It's really annoying that I can't see my RoT grid through my viewfinder (but I can see the 6x4 grid), yet I can see the RoT grid in live view. Am I missing something? Using 5DM4.
so you want to choose the setting that says 3x3
Great video thank you! I have been trying to figure out how some equestrian photographers are taking photos in the field that seemingly have very little shadows. Any chance you know how they are doing that?
Hard for me to say without seeing samples, but I would say they are pulling out the shadow areas in post production... or they are using flash to fill in the shadows, but would need to see samples
It's not "Lacy", it's La Cie - and it's a pun. The parent company is Seagate and La Cie is French for "The Company". Get it? The enclosed chip is called a "FireCuda", which of course is another maritime reference. 🌊
thanks for correcting my rough Australian pronunciation / accent ... and for the back story, I did'nt know about that... "La Sea" sounds much nicer
Iam using the Ikelite rings but still have the problem ... instead of the ribs u will get a whole ring reflection ... So not really better. I am trying to build something myself from cloth .... I don't know why there isn't really quality solutions for this problem on the market. Like a metal ring with non reflective material to screw on your lens... the ikelite stickers are just to flimsy and tend to come off after time too :/
Yeah, all really good points you raise here.. I think the Ikelite stickers help a bit but I agree they are not perfect. I think you are right, the ribs need to be hidden, If you come up with something let me know
maybe use some black felt type material... i reckon you are on to something with this, I think it could be better
@@dreamlifephotography i will let you know if i succeed with my idea :D
@@InfiniteBlue_ that would be great! good luck
THATS A SMOOTH BARREL 😮
The white square with all these options doesn't even come up for me. It only lets me save to adobe file and I can't access it
Are you using the desktop version "Lightroom Classic" or the mobile version of Lightroom?
Thanks!
Your welcome 😃
I tried sea drops and soap none of them worked ugh !
Have you tried using the Saliva method?
Thank you - I had gotten as far as downloading the file, but hadn't worked out how to transfer it to the SD card .. All good now, thanks to your video
So great to hear the video helped... and thanks for letting me know
Going home soon .feel like I have a calling.
New jersey girl
Thank you indeed
Glad it helped
This is tier 1 advice; THANK YOU. Stumbled onto this video while researching how to migrate a LR Catalog to MAC. Please consider making a video like if possible.
Awesome !! Glad to hear, I will get on to a video on the migrating, thanks for the idea🙏🏽
Thanks man, some good tips
Yew! cheers for the feedback.. appreciate
Hi Tom - I remember you used to set manual focus on your wide lens before entering the water then not change it out there. Are you still using that approach or auto focusing it now with the R5? Thanks mate
Great question mate. So I am using the manual focus with wides less these days with the R5 because it is so accurate, however the manual focus techniques for ultra wides above the surface of the water is still a very solid technique... the advantage of using auto focus is that if you did want to get a few shots below the surface of the water then you need to be in auto focus.... what camera are you using?
What it’s all about mate…love it ❤
Yew! cheers mate
You mention the Tenba Axis V2 24L bag. Has anyone tried the 32L version of this bag. It's marginally bigger - do the airlines check the exact measurements?
Really appreciate all your videos Tom, thanks so much for what you share with us all ❤
thanks so much for the feedback ... stoked they are helping
NEW here! I was hoping to hear about camera batteries
You are suppose to carry on your batteries these days
Great video Guys.....love the Passion, coming from you both.Very informative.
Thanks so much!!! Definitely had fun on that trip😃🤙🏽
❤❤❤❤
thanks so much
Thanks for the clear video!
Glad it was helpful, really appreciate your feedback
Crazy good information! Subbed!
Awesome, thank you so much for letting me know!
So beautiful
Thank you so much
My camera view stuck and error i cannot control my aperture, shutter speed, and i remember never update firmware, and its late not. What should i do?
Sounds like a camera error, I would contact your camera manufactors service department
This was great! So easy to follow, thank you. I do have a question, I'm new at this so I just want to double check... I shouldn't unplug the external hard drive until I'm done working on all my photos on LR so everything saves there, correct? Like even if it takes me days? Or can I unplug it and just plug it back in when I'm ready to save? I'm working on my laptop. Can anyone tell me?
Thanks for your feedback on the video. Yes so obviously when you are working on your photos you need to have your external HD plugged in. But you can unplug it and plugged it back in later and then continue to edit them or save as jpgs... does this answer your question?
Wow unbelievable! Great example too! I have a few photos like that as well.
Yeah it pretty neat hey? definitely give it a go on your images and let me know how they go!
@@dreamlifephotography I don't know how to use PS well, only Lightroom.
@@danlightened Luckily Lightroom is best for nearly all of my photography editing, so its great you know how to use LR well, but start to play around in photoshop a bit and Im sure you will pick it up pretty quickly... it does have some good tools that can't be found in Lightroom
Thanks for this tip, just dug into my archives and found suitable image to try this out and worked like a charm
That is so epic to hear!!!.. the examples I actually used for this video were shot many years ago when this tool did not exist, so yeah I reckon there will be a few old photos that could be "saved" thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it
@@dreamlifephotography yes I’m digging into the archives from over ten years ago and found a couple water shots to use this on with good success. Thanks for sharing bru
generative fill is amazing, its saved some wedding photos I did also. Im really glad you made this video Tom! I felt some sort of shame for doing this because I felt like it was artificial, but my theory is as long as it's not changing the wave drastically Im all for the AI tools. Glad to know even the pros do this
Of course I always aim to get it perfect in the camera so minimal work is required in post edit, but in certain situations you can do these slight improvements which help the composition and look of an image... not really adding to the image something new just finessing it.... glad that the generative fill tool has helped your work flow mate
Im constantly amazed at the power of photoshop
Its pretty wild hey?? I reckon the biggest improvements have been inside Lightroom over the last 12 - 18 months, but yeah Photoshop is incredibly smart these days
sRGB is only necessary for pictures for the web. Most printers today accept Adobe RGB (1998)
Yes you are right, printers will accept just about all colour spaces
Great easy to understand video! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the feedback Christopher, super happy that it was helpful!
Do you use a teleprompter? or is this off of the noggin?
Hey James, well all the info is technically "off the noggin" but when I am more prepared I do script my content... when I do script the video it is more concise and to the point. About 50% of my YT videos are scripted (teleprompter read) and the other half just set the camera rolling a free style it. I think this particular video was scripted but it was shot a long time ago so not 100% sure
