    So the problem with these settings for facebook (and likely other socials) is that it exceeds the size they want and so they compress the file. It you use "long edge" and put it at a max of 2048 pixels, then you end up with a 1-3mb file that facebook won't compress.

      Hey there! the idea of this video wasn't to save for facebook or social media, it was so the person that asked the question could get a decent quality photo saved on their computer without taking up too much room. I will make a video in the future that is specifically for saving to instagram and FB uploads... and you might be surprised with those results too... going to low with your instagram uploads can be a problem, but I will expand on that in future videos... appreciate your input thou

    Oh man.... I know the feeling well... When I first started I had 0 idea what I was doing.... Exhilarating and scary at the same time. My advice to anyone getting into it. Take your time and prepare your your equipment. Make sure everything is water tight, settings adjusted and test it - on dry land. Last thing you need is a leaky housing out in the surf with waves hammering you.

    It's not "Lacy", it's La Cie - and it's a pun. The parent company is Seagate and La Cie is French for "The Company". Get it? The enclosed chip is called a "FireCuda", which of course is another maritime reference. 🌊

I don't know why there isn't really quality solutions for this problem on the market. Hi Tom - I remember you used to set manual focus on your wide lens before entering the water then not change it out there. Are you still using that approach or auto focusing it now with the R5? Thanks mate

    • @dreamlifephotography
      @dreamlifephotography 2 місяці тому

      Great question mate. So I am using the manual focus with wides less these days with the R5 because it is so accurate, however the manual focus techniques for ultra wides above the surface of the water is still a very solid technique... the advantage of using auto focus is that if you did want to get a few shots below the surface of the water then you need to be in auto focus.... what camera are you using?
