- There are Surf Photography hub platforms popping up all over the world right now. In this video I look at 3 options for surf photographers of all levels to get started with and start earning some dollars from their surf photos...and I will even go into the backend and show you how easy it is to get your gallery up and going and start selling your images today.
Some of these sites also need you to resize your images, So I have made a special tutorial on how to effectively resize your images to meet the requirements but still retain high quality files.

surf photo mate is so good and easy to use! loading up all the sessions from coffs!
Stoked you are shooting the crew around Coffs mate... and that SFM is working well for you! good to hear
Happy to hear you enjoyed selling photos on Pixieset! ♥ Thank you for sharing your favorite tools, Tom!
software works great, surprised you found this video!!! Pixieset is a great option for this sort of thing
I’m also wondering if there is a U.S. option like surf photo mate? Seems like a great way to connect surfers with the photos
Yeah Luke, it works so well!! If I find out anything I will let you know via this comment thread
Great video Tom, thanks! Are there any concerns privacy-wise when uploading photos of random surfers online without having their explicit permission?
Great question, obviously if a surfer asks not to be on there, then it is best to respect that request and not upload those particular photos. Over my 24 years of shooting surfing I haven't had any objections, but Im sure there has been the odd case. Most surfers are stoked to check out a pic of themselves. Legally its only if you are using them in a commercial sense (like an advertising image for a business or a brand) in that case you will need to get a signed model release.. but much the same as newspapers have been doing for years if its not for commercial use then it is legally okay. But as mentioned before if someone objects just take the image down and delete if necessary... hope that helps
Great information. Thanks.
Thanks Paul
Nice one mate!
Cheers James!
Thanks for the tips !!
Is there a SurfPhotoMate but US version ?
I don't know of one, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone has set it up. I will be asking my audience on instagram and here over the next few days and hopefully have an answer for you soon... thanks for your question!
@@dreamlifephotography thanks a lot !
Hi. Thanks for your knowledge sharing
Can you send me the link to the video on creating photos under 5 mega with high quality, please. Thanks
Yes for sure, You can get the tutorial video here: www.waterphotographycourses.com/resize-photo-lightroom-video
Unfortunately...in Barbados..surfers are not interested in purchasing a once in a life time picture .....😢
Oh really?? I thought every surfer would be stoked to get a photo of themselves... there are other ways thou, this is just one small time way of monetizing your surf photography
I wish they have a surf photos mate American version.
They should expand over there. I know they have recently gone into New Zealand and Indonesia. I will suggest it to the founder!
