Hi I'm Hong and I love food with a passion lol. I'm pretty much a glutton. I have asked for forgiveness from Jesus because at this point it's pretty much a sin. I went there once because of a recommendation from Facebook also. I ordered the Shrimp Garlic Noodles, and it was very delicious.

Hey Hong, I can't believe you find all these hidden gems around Houston. I thought I was an expert at finding new places. Lol. You sure like your food spicy with the peppers and chili oil. I might put one piece of pepper and a drop of chili oil! But you put handful of pickled peppers and dump a jar of chili oil in your soup and drink it like you need more seasoning!😂

On the bean thing.... Green beans and string beans are the same thing, but the term "string" is mostly kinda outdated. The name "string" comes from the fibrous/ tough string that runs the length of the pod, which have to be removed before eating. Also sounds like you get hunger headaches.

Do you know that the people running Sui Lap City are not the original owners? I see that they added noodles as a choice instead of only steam or fried rice. Food seems to still be amazing! @HongtheFoodie Hello Hong, You're right, I need to get my fix. Speaking of fix, you better hurry if you want live crawfish! Lol, it is near the end of the season, and you may have to settle for frozen crawfish. Some of the Chinese buffets serve acceptable frozen crawfish. I am not sure why original owners sold their business. Before opening this location, they were located in old Chinatown, near Minute Maid Park. I remember lunch plates were $5.00 for 2 meats and veggies. It started out as Asian grocery store and evolved to doing only Chinese BBQ. I have another place for you to try nearby. It is named Cali's Sandwich & Pho. They make great Bahn MI sandwiches. Have you heard of them? Keep up the great work!
@@williamyee2294 I think crawfish season is over..only some restaurants have live but who knows how fresh they are + prices have gone back up 😭. Wow...$5 for 2 meats and veggies?! Gosh that is crazy cheap. I wish we can go back to those times lol. Yes I have heard of Cali Sandwiches from Amar that commented and told me about it. I was also looking at eat like a local on UA-cam (the one you told me about) and he went there. I'll have to make my way there one day
I've been there a couple times. The ladies that work the front would get annoyed if I asked a question or make small talk. Not customer friendly.
i think there are new owners, there was no ladies behind the counter. the older lady chopping the was skimpy on the meat!

The key to going to a buffet is to eat only 10 or 15 of the best dishes. Leave the worst or mediocre food alone. Don't try everything or else you'll be full and gag on your food, which is not a pleasant experience. I would try all of the soups and street food section and the snails and banh xeo and sushi and deserts.

I wish the would separate the soup stall separate into a different buffet for those who only want to try the soups, for a lesser price like $10 or $15. I would like a request for a new video at the new Parisien Bakery on Bellaire that's just opened. It's a little pricey but it has that Parisian atmosphere. I walked in but it's a little upscale for me.

@@HongtheFoodie I bet if someone would open a soup buffet it would do well. It's called Parisian Bakery. It's at Bellaire and Ranchester I think, in the mall of HoKaido and Welcome supermartket. It's like a 85C Bakery but with a French feel. I walked in with flip flops and looked but I did not feel right.

Because another thing I don't like about Kim Son is that they have workers serving you, and they tend to give you a big portion even when you ask for a little bit lol Ooh I'm sure you were fine with flip flops. I live 7 minutes from Umi and have had it on 4 different occasions. Definitely not worth the price. They do offer a pretty good selection but the food is not spectacular by any means.

Hey Hong, Hope you are feeling better! I think you are becoming a celebrity in your food reviews! I am a novice in Korean food, but always enjoy the different dishes. As you are aware, all along Long Point are where the authitenic Koren restaurants are located. Have you been to Kata Roberta on Kirby for sushi and other Japanese food? My local Japanese restaurant is owned by Koreans. Their Bibimbap is served in a thick bowl that there is crunchy rice on the bottom and served that way, crazy good.😋 Spam 🤣. great fried and eaten with rice

This was my go-to until estar on 290/dacoma opened up. Salmon and tuna sashimi included with dinner buffet and I found it's better than this place. I think it used to be better quality precovid.

Watching you have to pull the meat off those ribs with your teeth was making me sad. They needed to cook that rib another 45 minutes at least. If I paid for that rib, I'd bring it back.
@@Funksultan Ooh it may have looked like that in the video, but I promise it was nothing like that when I actually ate it. If it was hard and overcooked I would have definitely told you guys. I came with the expectation that it wasn't going to be good if it isn't sous vide, but they totally proved me wrong cause it was finger licking good, I couldn't believe it myself lol
@@HongtheFoodie Not overcooked, it was undercooked. You can see you trying to gnaw the meat off the bone. Then, when it did come off, the bone wasn't clean. These are signs of undercooked ribs. :)

@@brucewayne2773 I never had BBQ ribs like that with rice. Bruce I swear you eat everything with rice, you're so Asian lol :p but yeah they're pretty darn good, way better than I expected. Thomas was impressed as well and it wasn't even fresh by the time he tried it. He said it was really flavorful, fatty, and delicious, better than he thought too. The S2000 is also his car, it's a 2005. Such a super fun and agile car to drive, but too slow for me hahah!! That's cool you have the 08 CR and in yellow also. I bet it attracts alot of cops cause his car does and alot of people tryna race all the time 🤦
@@HongtheFoodie Dang, throw that rib in the air fryer for a few minutes, sure it would have been much better lol.. I only take mine out once in a while, not a big fan of the high revving motor. And it's not that fast of a car either 🤣. I do prefer my 94 NSX , it's got the torque and is more fun to drive. Too old to be racing , I do get lots of honking and thumbs up though. Hanging on to both since they are going up in value too, my wife can sell them when I die 🙏

Ooh yeah they'll definitely keep going up in value. Usually cars lose their value as soon as you purchase them but classic cars like that..you'll for sure get more in return
