Yes three counters actually for keeping track of how many fish port and starboard one in the middle for fish over 24” watch the Pyramid Lake videos and you’ll see why I set that up. Some days over 100 fish to the boat. Thanks for the comment Tight lines

Yes on the late season but they will be thick enough to jig up early limits. I have got one Lahontan Cutthroat out of Tahoe but they have been planting a lot of them so I’m excited to see if they have matured. That should be a game changer for Tahoe if they can compete with the Macs

Not a lot of concentrations on the Kokanee small schools and singles. Could be all the lake trout thinning the herd or just scattering the fish. Some quality when you get them but hard won for sure. Still a very nice place to fish, hard to beat the scenery. I’m thinking about Tahoe now that the summer crowds are gone Tight lines

October can be jigging time trolling with flat fish and spoons. Have a look at my other videos on Pyramid for specific details. I should be on the water a lot in October channel 18 on the marine band. It’s highly recommended to have a marine band radio on Pyramid cell service is spotty and there’s always a lot of chatter on 18 and 69 give a shout out if I’m in range I’ll give you the current low down. I’m going to start working on the light and biology at depth. Light, temperature, oxygen. What is the optimal combination for activity by species. Maybe I’m overthinking this? But thanks as always for the comments your channel has been an inspiration.

Okuma 354D is what I’m using small and light with an excellent drag the line counter has been holding up well. The line counter seems to be the first thing to fail on line counters. I’ve been using the reels for over a year now and no problems so far.

@@fairplayfishing I have a Daiwa Lexa 300 that I love for shallow waterRockfish /ling cod. I was considering buying a Lexa 100 with line counter, but several anglers report problems with the clicker. Do you find the clicker is important for your trolling?

I was trying a led core line to Port without success that day typically have two lines out.

@@fairplayfishing oh nice. I stopped using leadcore and started using a snap on weight. Seems to work better for me and gets me to the depths I like. Good work

Kokanee at the Dam and then South along the West shore. Also good for the Rainbows. Lake Trout everywhere along the bottom

It’s worth the drive. I also hear Tahoe is producing larger Kokanee this year. Hopefully they will open up Taylor creek and let them spawn. Thanks for the tips Tight lines!

They still tend to school up but not as concentrated. And the schools will give you an indication of what depths they are working. The singles will still be associated with that depth so that give you a target range and then one you catch one, suspicion confirmed.

There is a temperature range that fish are most comfortable in and that temperature varies by species. Fish are cold blooded and can’t regulate their body temperature so they need to return to the depths that are in the temperature range their body requires. So it’s a starting point. Fish move out the comfort zone to feed so can be caught at those depths as well

@@cjimmer4877 So you have a decision to make on presentation is the fish are in a comfort zone resting maybe a slower easier target. If the are out of the comfort zone more aggressive maybe a faster target will trigger a strike? They can’t be in warmer water long so they are actively feeding

@@fairplayfishing Yea I noticed where you were in the video, been fishing that lake for 35ish years. Though I'm just on a pedal kayak starting from the opposite end so getting to the dam area is a trek.

1.4 to 1.8mph went through a lot of different presentations with nothing producing more than one or two fish. A very finicky bite with the schools just starting to form but some nice big singles when you do get hit. Garlick on the corn for every thing we got to the boat.

The log was interesting I was gathering results for water temperature at depth and how that would affect fish location and catch rate. Not really scientific but there were some trends. I think I’ll start sharing that information on future videos. I always appreciate your comments thanks again

Pyramid Lake is in Nevada North East of Reno About the size of Lake Tahoe can’t miss it on a map.

If the wind is out of the West the shelf that is in front of Camp Richardson’s is sheltered from the wind and lake trout travel out of the deep water to feed along the edge, play the drop off they are ambush predators. Also good Kokanee fishing there not big fish but lots of them

Typically launching from Cave Rock fishing North East to Sand Harbor or South West to Camp Richardson’s or Emerald Bay

It is interesting that I tried to find the flatfish in that color recently but could not. I did find K11 Kwikfish in that same color and pulled them around for hours with not one bite!!

@@johnholman9313 Bummer. Was it in that same area in Fox Bay? And the action between baits can play into bite rate. The Lahontons get into a feeding frenzy that is specific to location when you find them it gets crazy fast. But location, location, location. I’ll be back on Pyramid in October and into November until water temperature slows the bite typically on channel 18 at Pyramid give me a shout out and I’ll let you know what we’re finding Tight lines
