a) you are right : David (the EC drummer) needs a lot more press. I could listen to am entire song made just from his drum fills. b) moar heavies : ovvvv course. They could expand the section from "Everybody"/"Out of Control" call-and-response for another 5 minutes, for me. BTW, the "Everybody" is Momo-metal, or so I hear. c) the decor... and I thought those were seafoam-green penises.... well, that would have been a bold fashion statement NOT TO MENTION a great entertainment piece as the cat treats them like a Bozo-punching bag... This is probably the most poppy song Babymetal has ever been in. Even though the vocals are not what's expected in the metal genre they go hard and along with their band, the Kami Band they have the best live shows in the biz.

Welcome & thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (and group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ The official live video was posted in UA-cam !! The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. Now the 3 girls and 2 boys are doing this song with EC band in EC shows and with Kami Band in BM shows, in two ways, in some European festivals 💛。

I didn‘t know anything about Electric Callboy, but needless to say, I’m very happy with this collaboration. I haven‘t heard such a fun song in a long time. I wouldn‘t call BABYMETAL‘s contribution to this song J-Pop. I‘m not well versed in genre taxonomy, but I think it‘s more like Western electric dance music, reminiscent of the Pop music of the 90‘s. J-Pop is only one of many genres that BABYMETAL mix with Metal. You‘ll also find Hip Hop, Waltz, Reggae, Ska, EDM, Dubstep, Latin dance music and much more.

You really should try to watch Babymetal. Try Babymetal death legend 1997, road of resistance, metali, leave it all behind, monochrome and so many. They started so few years ago, about 14 years now. Great "first" reaction.🦊Both bands formed in 2010. Electric Callboy are great musicians, but you know that already and you know they like to have fun and inject some humour into what they do. BABYMETAL are the best live entertainment of any kind that I've had the privilege to experience in person. There are a lot of people who have heard 'Gimme Chocolate' and think that's all they are ... that song is 10 years old and it was not entirely typical of their songs even then. You won't have seen or heard anything quite like them, they pioneered their own metal sub-genre fusing metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics (including introducing choreographed dance to metal) and they are both original and unique. BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Hopefully you will give them another listen (the official videos are good, but live BABYMETAL is where they are always at their best). Pick any song, you can't go wrong. 'Megitsune' live at PIA MM Arena from April 2023 would be a good place to start. It is one of their earlier songs and it shows a lot of what they are all about. Jake Muller has left you an excellent list of songs.

But instead of blending EDM/Techno with Metal, they do J-Pop vocals and choreography with Metal. Babymetal's been doing world tours for 10 years now, and an absolute industry heavy weight. They are one of _THE_ best live performance bands on this planet. This song is truly a 50/50 collab, both bands contributed equally and are performing it live both together (FOX_FEST, Rock AM Ring, Rock Im Park) and will be separately (EC in Sweden). _Suggestions:_ *Road of Resistance:* An epic power metal anthem, do the "Official Live" to see how amazing they were even in Jan 2015, or "Pia Arena MM, 2023" for their vibes today. *Metali (Official Live):* Fun and groovy metal festival song. Features Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine doing his thing on guitar solos. *Headbanger (Legend 1997):* One of the songs representing the quintessential early Babymetal sound. Concert took place Dec 2013 to celebrate lead Su-metal's 16th birthday. Also, Babymetal just dropped the live version of Ratatata on their channel not too long ago, and it is amazing. Here's a brief info about this amazing group: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (no K-pop involved) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play on words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher. If you like Jpop and edm elements then you're gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group. This single just reached Number 1 US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! Last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab, the live version is already out if you don't wanna stop enjoying this song. Last weekend they played this together once again at Rock Am Ring and the day before at Rock Im Park in Germany twice in the same day, one during EC show and later at BM show. The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath. About this song: This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions, the office with the suits workers and the Japanese boss kinda represent that. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's probably used way back before in more songs. The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements. The moment when they're bursting the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said. Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown it could be a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie. When I heard the official audio I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although later fans spotted in the live performance, so it was her after all as well in the third chorus when singing "Everybody". There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more. Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more. The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song. They met each other last year when BM went to see EC live in Boston and they asked them to work together, this is a 50/50 collab song. To be honest I found her voice to be a bit boring for a good part of this. She sings in 1 monotonous tone, with no nuances. Sorry but not for me. It might just be the song rather than her singing but I just couldn't get into it.
